This team up was purely by chance, he had all intentions on doing the pod racing alone, but had not realized today was a doubles race...It was a bit foolish for him to overlook such an important detail, but he had been approached by the princess he had a brief run in before and had suggested their team up. Shadow didn't know if she had made the same mistake, but it did beat backing out of the race.

"If we want the best chance at winning, we should come up with a strategy." He suggests as he begins to swap out some stock parts on the pod for something with better performance and handling. He wasn't one to be trifled with, not in something he recreationally enjoyed, anyway.

"It looks like this pod has been modified to have someone accelerate and the other handle the rudders and maneuvering. You can take your pick in which you prefer. Or we swap if the situation calls for it."

The idea of a little friendly competition didn't hurt. But Shadow wasn't entirely interested in forming a team just yet (he was sure someone would force him into it sooner rather than later) so, for now, he has chosen to go solo and be set up randomly with other participants who also want to tackle things alone for now.

It doesn't take long for him to get matched up with someone for the maze activity at least. And once they're given the objective, off into the maze they were ushered.

"Let's make quick work of this cat!" Wherever that sneaky creature has hidden itself to. He has a leaderboard he wants to get on.

Fireworks erupted overtop the city's centre where the giant hole usually could be found. Except now it was filled with a huge stadium! When had that happened!? As was often tradition in Spirale, plenty early risers would have their beauty sleep disturbed by the blaring of an announcement over the electronic devices in their possession.

"That's right, Jonathan! This is an exciting year for the Spirale Games! Well it's the first year, but that's what makes it so exciting!" Anything with a screen would have displayed video of Ofiuco's android body sitting at a sportscasting desk. But there was no one else present so who was she talking to? "We have a number of exciting events for teams to sign up for and we can't wait to see you out there!"

Of course the implication was that if they didn't see them out there then those who didn't participate wouldn't be reaping any of the rewards!

Welcome to our April / May event, the Spiral Games! As you can imagine we've taken inspiration from major sporting events, but this is closer to a celebration of many different skills and only some of the events are based on athleticism! You can find a full list of the events here so that this post isn't too cluttered!

So how is everything going to work?

Characters can participate in some events alone, but we encourage everyone to form teams of up to four characters! All of the team members don't need to participate in every thread if you don't want to but the option is there if you'd like! Teams will have no bearing on rewards (but it will make them easier) so there also isn't a limit of how many teams a character can be in to prevent a scenario where some characters are let out just because some people made teams early on.

If you would like to, you can give your team a name and even design a logo!

On the event list page you can see a list of events and the rewards you can earn from participating! Rewards can only be claimed by the team members who participate, so if you choose to do a one person drabble then only you get those rewards!

You can participate in as many events as you want, but the amount of Stars one character can earn from the event is capped at 500 Stars. This does not include the regular amount you get for event participation.

There will also be an unlock reward for this event, however there is a stipulation to this. In order to claim the unlock you must write at least 300 words with at least one character on your account that your muse has yet to interact with. So long as the thread is event related it will count, which is where teams could certainly help!

"Model?" He repeats, he wonders if he's referring to him as if he's part of a series like his friend: Omega...Or...If Aurelius just has a strange way of speaking.

"Yeah, sorry. It's kinda late." The hedgehog adjusts the inhibitor rings that sit on his wrist cuff, "Do yourself a favor: there's another blue hedgehog. He's (relatively) innocent. I would advise against attacking him." That was one good way to get on his bad side.

「✧」 The golden light trails are very pretty, Aurelius decides. He dutifully finishes the handshake, taking Shadow's words at face value as he commits them to memory.

"I see why you're the superior model," the angel remarks.

"Even your aesthetics are much improved over the other one."

He spares a look for the cafe itself, noting its pleasing collection of books, and raises his opinion of the hedgehog by two levels automatically.

"I assume this Wolfwood is your supervisor. I'll see if I can find time to speak to him on the topic. It's a pity that you're already closing for the day."

Just when a hedgehog thinks time travel makes sense, another variable gets thrown into the mix! This was more frustrating than it had just appeared on surface level.

"I'm fine." He responds coldly, he tries his best to not rumminate on things he considers trivial or will hold him back from acting. This would be one of those things, at least for now.

"Dammit! We'll talk about this later." There's already a lot on their plate from their self-assigned Spirale research project and now this? "Can we just focus on one thing at a time?"

"Hey, hold on a sec. You're not making any sense."

It's not what Sonic expected to hear, that's for sure; his mind gravitated toward the Black Arms, or maybe the situation with Emerl, not...this. And then there's the fact he doesn't remember this ever happening. Would be kind of hard to forget your own death.

"I don't recall ever meeting a 'Mephiles'," He mouths it out like the word is foreign to him—which it is. "And I think I would remember if I died. But, I also know you wouldn't lie about something like this, so I'll believe you. I think what's going on must be more than simple time travel."

"...And I know you said I came back to life, but...are you alright? I mean, that's a heavy thing to deal with..."

Sonic knows how Shadow is regarding emotions, but he can't help but a little concerned. After all, Shadow must have seen Sonic's lifeless body, and even he would be affected by it in some way, surely. The way he holds his head and the initial reluctance to talk about it speaks that very clearly to him.

"Yeah..." He doesn't find her excitement on the information all that weird, especially when his acquaintances were much friendlier than he considered himself to be.

"It's comforting to know that I have allies to rely on here, sure. Though, it's a bit too domestic here for that kind of support." Business as always...He's going to have to learn friendship here.

Right, though, they were at a party!

"!! I'm not keeping you, am I?"

"There's more-!?" Really, it must be odd that she looks so delighted bt the possibility, but there it is. She can't really help it though, she loves animals as much as the next person, of course- but there's a difference between being able to talk to animals and this.

"Well, 'least ya won't be lonely, right? Must be nice havin' familiar faces around."
