Waaaaaay too long playing this game in order to have reached MR30 and have the True Master emote to use here in the first place
I'm actually LR2, so it's even worse than making it to just MR30...
This is a bit full-circle, moreover; I picked up Warframe originally because way back in 2016, someone sent an query to this very blog asking whether I'd consider taking some shots in Warframe... which at the time, I had not played. So I picked it up to toy with Captura...

This is the as-of-posting final version of my comic-book shader preset. It's still not perfect -- you have to get kind of precise in the lighting -- but I am definitely happy with the result overall.
Much like the previous shot, it relies heavily on LayerCake shenanigans; in this case, it generates only the outlines for Khit in pure black and white, then copies it (treating white as transparent, another option in LayerCake), then does flat-shading of colors, then pastes the outlines back atop the solid colors.

The process here is literally a shader that copies the scene into a temporary buffer, one that does outlines in white, one that copies the outlines in white into a temporary buffer, one that covers the screen in a gradient, one that pastes the outlines in white back in, one that copies the scene into a temporary buffer only to a certain depth (thus getting only Khit's gradient-and-outline figure), one that pastes the original scene back into place, my painting shader to turn the whole scene into the painting style, one that stomps a mask over it to make the 'paint swoosh', and then one that pastes the gradient-and-outline image of Khit back atop it to finish.
I am definitely getting some mileage out of the "LayerCake" shader I wrote that handles all those copy-and-paste operations...
Would this have been easier in Photoshop? Almost certainly. But I do try to stick to my general rule of only posting things here I've done entirely in-game, with only ReShade-style post-processing.
