ugh akatsuki no yona is really getting on my nerve with those "glimpses of the future" that imply hak isn't gonna be around. with that plot armour? lol yeah right. stop wasting my time.

until the very last chapter rolls around and yona's a lonely queen, all the dragons are back in the sky and hak is rotting 6 feet under, I will not be believing that this doesn't have a happy ending.

so thinking about it — it's referencing ch1, way back at the brginning. it's a *potential* future but it's not necessarily set in stone. that said, sensei may have been running out of ideas where to shoehorn that, so what do i know?

anyway let me get this straight.

red dragon went down to earth

was followed by the incarnations of the other dragons who inhabit the soul of their chosen human, except zeno who continues on until yona

the crimson sickness already was set in the red dragon, but in his desperation to continue to live ao as not to leave his retinue behind, especially zeno, he asked for more time (even though he's already dying)

in this wish, he ended up calling yona's soul to his side — his future incarnation

at this point, yona was looking for a way to help zeno having already lost the rest of the dragon warriors, and was calling for zeno in her dreams

her soul at that time got pulled to the dragon king's side — which was only possible because they share a soul

in which case, yona is the manifestation of the dragon king's wish to find a solution for zeno — but it's like... i'm guessing alternate universes. yona is seeing the definite past, but the dragon king is only seeing a potential future. if yona can promise him that she (as the next incarnation of the red dragon) can find her way back to the warriors and continue life with them to ensure that they may return to the heavens, then she's his solution, which is why he takes her hand

but what i'm wondering (which means i probably forgot at some point...?) is how the dragon king thinks ending it now will fix anything. he wasn't going to fix anything really. would his death (at his point in time) like force the dragons to return because they descended so recently still?

but yona essentially promised him that she'll take and continue the burden to look for a solution to bring the dragons back to the heavens — or at least to look for them because of both of their wishes to be with them, which i guess means whether it be on the mortal realm or the heavens

but what does this *mean* when yona/the dragon king would only be left alone again without the four?

thinking about how Soowon and Yona represent a difference between victory through sacrifice and victory through compassion. Soowon is okay with being the bad guy if Kouka ultimately benefits, whereas Yona’s unwavering kindness inspires hope and garners support from even enemies. Soowon gave up every close relationship he had so he wouldn’t be blinded by affection in pursuit of his goals, while Yona’s affections are her very motivation and through them she is able to strengthen herself and those around her. both Yona and Soowon sway others, albeit in different ways. Yona speaks to people’s hearts and their yearning to be better, inspiring them to help her, but Soowon gets to the core of others’ goals and supports their motivations in a way that they end up wanting to do what he asks

The biggest incentive Yona had to seek out the dragons in the first place was because Iksu warned her that Hak would die without their help. Now that Zeno has taken them away there's nothing really protecting Hak from that fate. Maybe that's what the dream was cryptically getting across.

Nop, I'd know that I am trying to trick myself, and I'd just somehow end up rebelling against myself.

For me, it just works to be head-on with things. Like telling myself I want to be better, and this is what I got to do for it. Kinda works.

Things typically made for women (ex. high heels, bikinis, mini skirts) are designed to be impractical and humiliating btw. I don't think most people realize how demeaning they look, because we are so used to seeing them on women. We are so used to seeing women in the tiny micro thongs at the beach, having to be careful not to move around too much so that they don't accidentally flash everyone. All while men get to wear the comfortable, covering shorts, that allow them to move as much as they want, climb up rocks, and run without having to double-check whether their fucking balls are hanging out. The comparison looks ridiculous. Just another example of women having to perform in every aspect of their life, even when doing activities as innocent as swimming.

The thing is, I feel like, to Zeno, these aren't his "friends". His friends died a long time ago.

These are children to him. Children unfairly tangled up in the gods' selfishness. He doesn't want to involve them anymore than they already are. And he doesn't see them as partners and equals as he saw the original 3. (And Kaya, I would argue as at that point, he was in despair and didn't really have the concept of time)

That's why, even though, I think Yona should have been more proactive in her role as Hiryuu, the times she did try to figure it out by asking Zeno earlier in the story, Zeno just basically dismissed her. That she really didn't have to do anything.

And it's not like he selfishly executed his plans the moment the dragons gathered even though he easily could have. He waited for the end of their lifespans and for Yona to gather enough power to survive on her own.

I mean, I agree that it would've been better if it had been communicated and consent from the others were involved, but this is how I think Zeno's mind worked.

not to be that kind of asshole but I feel like I would've come up with a much better (or at least a much less back stabbing) plan to get back at the gods if I had 2000+ years of contemplation solitude and resentment at my disposal. like give me 3 days and an adequate supply of caffeine and I will brainstorm you another alternative OR! If this route is a must! I would at least do my best to incorporate the bare minimum of active communication into it! and who knows maybe I'd even be motivated to discuss my evil masterplan over tea and take suggestions from my friends who are all affected by this to varying degrees!

I see the parallel with Soo won's betrayal but this is not really a betrayal... is it?

I understand that he could've expressed his intentions to the gang and get them to help him but still...

Did you see the video that shows where the ambulance that went to rescue 6 year old Hind was from the car she was trapped in?

Mere meters! Meters! The paramedics would have been able to see the car from where the ambulance was before it was struck by Israel.

The paramedics were there. Hind was moments away from being rescued. Israel is fucking monstrous. They lured paramedics in so they can kill them before killing the child.

The are no words to describe how inhumane Israel is. Fuck Israel.
