I honestly don't remember when I discovered Blood for Blood, but I think I might have my former boss (he'd get annoyed and say he wasn't my 'boss' 'cause he doesn't like 'bosses and never wanted to have nor be one; For context, he wasn't really my boss, I was self-employed, but working at his tattoo shop) / fill-in father-figure for a bit, a longtime friend of mine, to thank for that. That man is honestly 100% self-made and has an ethic and ethos I can really look up to and respect. We're also both into Madball, and I recently went to one of their shows. He couldn't go, due to ongoing cancer treatments.

Me and another friend of my former boss (actually, the co-owner of that shop I was working at), spoke with the band, got them all to sign a shirt for him and we brought it to his house the next day. He was super touched. Great group. We'd only asked one band member to sign as the rest were busy packing up gear, and he suggested he could go and get the rest to add their autographs, we were super grateful.

Also, I 100% get that frustration of never meeting anyone who likes/knows what you like and know. When I was a teen, the definition of 'hardcore' had slipped, and to me, it was still bands like Blood for Blood, Madball, Biohazard, Agnostic Front, Fugazi originating from the movement started by 7 Seeconds, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Sick of it All, etc. I saw Terror (which I like) as like, the band bridging how I defined hardcore to how kids of my generation defined it.

To the kids around me, it was this stuf with like, a lot of 'Woah-oh-oohs', in the midst of screaming. My whole view of it was 'it's a'ight, but that's not my scene', and I was often disappointed (and eventually disillusioned) when kids were like, "oh, I like hardcore too!". Over the years, my follow-up question changed from an enthusiastic "Oh awesome! Wanna go to a show? Wanna obsess about this Bad Brains album with me" to a bored, "Oh yeah? So like, what bands?" To which I'd hear Stick to your guns, Underoath, Silverstein or whatever else was popular at that time.

I ran into the same problem with kids saying they liked punk too. They weren't talking about Discharge or Subhumans, or Thulsa Doom, or Conflict, Descendants or NOFX. They meant The Used and Blink182, Rise Against and whatnot. I was utterly confused and felt born 20 years too late for real.

I was just...well, I longed for a more precise vocabulary to become more widely-used so I'd stop getting my hopes up/getting frustrated about the fact we really weren't talking about the same thing. I was a teenaged musical elitist, yup. A real fuckin' snob. I'm more open-minded today but it was disappointing and disheartening, only really finding like-minded musical peers among people at least a decade older than I was.

So, in contrast, meeting people who actually liked what I liked was always so exciting and felt really validating at a time when I felt as though there was always a barrier to being understood by my peers, and to connecting with them on a less than superficial level.

You didn't ask for that full analysis and I regret having overthought and rambled, but I typed it so you're getting it, I guess. Sorry?

Also, I just realized maybe I rambled so much because the upcoming chapter explores some of those themes with Tweek finding it hard to find common ground with kids his age as well. So, maybe?

Static: Yes, definitely a part of one of the playlists I’ve built myself for Tweek. I may be mistaken, but I think the first time I heard it was on recommendation of butterwholesomesurfer, who also has drawn amazing art of the fic.

No way out: I love T.S.O.L. who doesn’t, right? Okay, a bunch of people who don’t know who they are, but who needs ‘em? Also, heck yeah, it fits. Tweek feeling he’s surrounded by danger and running out of places to hide from it? Yeah, it fits.

Constantly in between: I did not know this song, but yes, I can see it fitting, especially with the way you described, and with the ‘long way away always’ part and him feeling like maybe he doesn’t have a home so much anymore and he’s so far from what he’s known.

Scratch: That definitely makes sense and would be perfect for yeah, exactly that, him feeling the best he’d ever felt, and then losing everything all at once and getting shipped off to some town he doesn’t know and where he’s alone to just like, rebuild and literally start over from scratch.

Can’t decide: Oh, fuck yes. Just that. Yeah, nailed it.

Miserable failure: Oh yeah, definitely with his internal monologue of him just always fucking everything up, and also him just wanting to live life by rules that make sense to him—like, in the way he’s a bit of an anarchist/rule-breaker but he also strictly follows his own moral code—and he gets hate for it from some kids in South Park, especially. That makes a bunch of sense.

Can’t cheat karma: Holy Fuck I love Zounds and no one ever knows who they are gndkgbfdgbdqg fuck I like you. Also yes, this is definitely a Tweek song. I think it’s in that songs for later playlist, maybe. I dunno. I also considered Fear, for obvious (I think) reasons. Personal fave has gotta be Did He Jump or Was He Pushed/The Unfree Child/My Mummy’s Gone, or, or, Dirty Squatters. That one’s just a fun song.

Space ooze: Pretty self-explanatory, & I didn’t know this song by I added it in the songs for later playlist and in another one ‘cause the first is getting way too long & I don’t wanna ‘lose’ this song.

Conform: Oh, for sure, totally his (and my) jam.

Eyes in the back of your head: Oooh I haven’t listened to the adicts in a whiiiiile. So like, just yes, obviously.

I feel bad bein’ me: You know what? Like, yeah, he doesn’t like feeling sorry for himself, but a part of him still does. Like, sure, he stays sorta positive, or he gets angry instead of sad, but he still knows he missed out and it wasn’t fair and he should’ve had it easier. So like, yeah, I think it still fits.

Ghost: Yeah, I can see that, for like, all those times he feels like no one gets him and the only person who ever really saw him is gone, right?

Oh, as a bonus, 'cause I think I asked you before if you like Pete Bernhard, his song Orphan, right? I've never been much for followin' rules -yes, Tweek I always go out and act a fool -yes, Tweek, in his past And somethin' bad would happen by and by - Duh Can't say I'm always proud of myself -Yes, Tweek But I don't wish I was somebody else - Yes, Tweek In fact, I'd rather be me than you -Yes, Tweek But a lot of people don't like me - Yup, Tweek Not my music, I mean personally - Again, just yeah They wanna tell how to act and what to say - Yes, Tweek Would you rather be an orphan or a slave? - Well come on, he was basically a slave and now he's an orphan, pretty much. Also she very well might be unaware / closeted? Because she only shows actual interest for the one guy who's openly unavailable and uninterested, and while she goes to the dance with Clyde, it's sort of implied it's only reluctantly/after much nagging/groveling and Craig's described as thinking Bebe wouldn't give Clyde the time of day, much less her heart, or something along those lines, in first few chapters.

Oh, yeah, and, I guess she's only enthusiastically talking when it's with Wendy, or about cheerleading, with Tweek.

Hello!!!!!!!! This is about Mostly You Just Make Me Mad :p

i listen to a lot of music (like seriously a lot, and also a lot of different genres… this is also why i feel like some if not all of the songs you might not like… but its all about the lyrics okay!!!), and i also think a lot, and because i have so many thoughts i want to share them!!! I’m on… chapter 73 I think? But i already have so many thoughts I NEED TO SHARE THEM OR I’LL EXPLODE!!!!!!!!! So, i will share some songs that remind me of your amazing work (mostly just Tweek) :DD

Okay, now, the songs:

AJJ - Your voice, as I remember it I considered this song for a Tweek thinking about him moment. Don't remember why it didn't make the cut. I think maybe because there are a few AJJ songs that are already maybe/probably going in the fic (Body Terror Song is probably, like 96% for sure gonna be one). So completely agree with you on that.

X - Nausea Didn't know this band. At first I thought you were mentioning the band Nausea and I was like, no way, Tweek would totally listen to Nausea (the band). Anyway, he'd totally listen to X and their song Nausea, too, I think. & this is now going into one of my playlists for sure.

Black Flag - Nervous Breakdown This is actually in a playlist I have called ‘Songs for Later’ (as in later in the fic) so it makes total sense to me.

Black Flag - Fix me I think this one's in there too.

Current Joys - Nervous Didn't know this one but I like it a whole lot.

Mumford & Sons - Little Lion Man I'm a M&S fan too. I'd totally see Craig thinking of Tweek, listening to this.

Crywank - If I were you I'd be throwing up Knew Crywank, didn't know this song. Like it. I'd see it as a Craig song, too. Makes sense.

AJJ - People This is one of the AJJ songs I was mentioning that are maybe/probs gonna end up being included, yeah. :D Hate, Rain on Me is another.

Duster - What you're doing to me This is another one I didn't know before. I'm at my second listen of this one. I feel it might be an acquired taste & it'll grow on me maybe. I kept waiting for the vocals to get louder, then realized they wouldn't. Lyrically, though, very enjoyable.

Begrudgingly comply while also definitely putting in just enough effort they think I'm trying but I know I'm not.

Them: Funny thing, we fucked up your pay again. Them: Congrats, we're extending your contract.

Cool, I'll keep pretending to work. But also, you motherfuckers best pay me.

Them: So remember how in five months only 1 paycheck was right? Surprise! You're getting none until we fix this other shit. Also them: Please start coming into the office additional days out of the week. Understand I can no longer afford transportation, and that's on you.

Get a normal job they said, it will be stable, they said.

On an unrelated note, any idea when we might be seizing those means of production, by chance?
