Over explaining why this image is wrong and what it gets actually pretty right point by point because I have too much autism for this man, from the discussion "Dojima is a terrible father"

"He let's his 7 year old daughter drink coffee," So? It's not like he's giving her black straight out of the machine, she canonically likes hers cream with sugar, and he doesn't give it to her every day, not even every week, it seems more like a special occasion where he gives her some coffee with cream and sugar and what I definitely assume is less caffeine, kids 4-6 can have around 45 mg of caffeine in coffee, sugar and cream can make caffeine less effective aswell, It's fine to give your kid a coffee like that once in a while

"He often exposes the kids to second hand smoke," I give one (1) point to you for this, but then again at least we never actually see him smoke it, he just kind of puts it in his mouth and doesn't touch it

"He occasionally comes home wasted infront of the kids," another point, but I'm going to put less blame on him for being a traumatised single father in 2011 because that's rough buddy

"He has a problem with Nanako going out after dark even with supervision of somebody who's almost an adult yet he's fully okay with leaving her home alone," Whooboy are you fucking stupid? Of course he'd rather Nanako be home alone than going out in the night, yes, Yu is 16 at the start of the game and 17 depending on when you do Nanakos social link, but let's see this from Dojimas perspective : There is an active murder-kidnapping case that primarily targets people aged 15-16 that happens overnight, do you honest to god think he'd be comfortable with letting his 16 year old nephew go out in the night alone with his 6 year old daughter while that is happening? Are you that stupid? But I continue, leaving her home alone is bad but at least she's home, that's somewhere automatically more secure than outside, even if she is supervised (by someone who's 16,) One point taken away from you because you're dumb

"He's quick to distrust the protagonist after being sent a threatening letter," Again, from Dojimas perspective : There's an active murder-kidnapping case, everytime someone goes missing, your nephew doesn't come home until evening, comes home exhausted, seems to know they're okay before he's even told, constantly visits one location, snoops around scenes of the missing people and ALWAYS after they're rescued, he's friends with them: Now he sees Yu receive a letter saying "Stop rescuing people or someone close will be put in and killed," combined with his pre existing worries of Yu being involved, this would be and was the nail in the coffin, Yu had just received a letter saying "Stop getting involved or I'll kill someone you love," that IS suspicious, you have to understand that Dojima doesn't know he's in a fictional game, he's acting like a real person would in this situation, he's angry and confused because Yu isn't telling him anything, and when he asks about it, Yu either lies to his face or says "I go into the TV and rescue people with my Persona," which also sounds like a lie to someone who doesn't know they're in a Persona game, Dojima is 100% in the right here from a fictional perspective, even if we know that Yu is the hero, Dojima was doing everything he could to keep Yu safe, Additionally, he never leaves Yu's side at the police station, he's right outside the door when your friends come in, Dojima cared about Yu which was why he was distrustful, another point taken because you're dumb

"He leaves Nanako home alone after being sent the threatening letter," Finally something smart, yes this was a dumbass move, I know that he was stressed out for Yu's safety but that isn't an excuse to put Nanako in danger, even if she doesn't open the door for strangers, he should have taken her with him or called a babysitter. You've earned one point back

Time for the big one, "He claims that his problems stem from his dead wife yet he decides to stop pursuing the guy who killed her... He's basically letting someone get away with vehicular manslaughter because 'Revenge is wrong,' even though he's a cop and should look for the guy who committed murder," This is where I realised you're fucking stupid, let's go by it one by one. ONE — He didn't decide to stop pursuing her murder (see image below,) he just decided to do it as a cop and not as a father, he was wasting his life away on a case with no development, he also says in his SL that every other cop has given up too, but he still hasn't, he's still looking. TWO — "Revenge is wrong," isn't the point of his SL, not even his SL10, the point of his SL is that he's unable to accept that things have changed beyond going back, Chisato is dead, her killer will probably never be found and Nanako is growing up, he won't be able to develop as a person until he can admit he's stuck in the past and move on, that is the point of his social link. I'm taking away two points because you're dumb

"Maxing out his social link doesn't matter because he seems to forget that revenge is wrong when Nanako dies," Good god I didn't know people came this unintelligent. Let me remind you what happened : Nanako was kidnapped while he wasn't home, he drove desperately to save her and was in a severe car accident that left him still injured a year after (According to the P4G epilogue, see image below,) She's then missing for days with the presumed killer until she's found, but she's in critical condition and is barely conscious, then without warning, he's called into her room, but right before he can get there, his daughter who had turned seven only two months ago dies, and he didn't even get to say goodbye. Her killer is still alive, and because of the lack of evidence behind the first murder, unprovable method and lack of motive behind the second and a genuine probable claim to insanity because of his talk of the TV world, he would most likely either be sent to a mental institute or go free and Dojima knows this, he's a cop. Just imagine what that could all do within the span of a few days to one man already dealing with trauma, why on earth would he go "I need to think about this rationally and not do anything in haste," Of course he wouldn't say that, at this moment, he probably wanted NOTHING more than either bringing Nanako back, or bringing her death to justice in his own hands, he is not a rational man in this moment because in this moment, he is undergoing ALOT of trauma and pain, physical and mental, he doesn't care about the law at this moment because Dojima valued his family above anything else, and the last of it was just stripped away from him so suddenly without a goodbye. One point down because you're so dumb

Overall : This review as to why Dojima is a terrible father gets Negative Three points, but I'm not done with tearing into this, let ME give MY points about why Dojima is a flawed person after defending him,

He leaves his six year old daughter home alone, making her cook and do all the chores, I understand busy work especially in the police force, but she's SIX, and Dojima is pretty well off considering he gives Yu 10,000-50,000 yen for just doing well on an exam, he could definitely hire a babysitter or at least send her to the daycare center in Inaba, your original post didn't touch upon this enough so I'm saying it

He's hot headed beyond reason, even to Yu, snapping at him and telling him to shut up, scolding him when he's drunk even if it is for a good reason, not only that but he's physically abusive to Adachi (and yes I'm going to admit it even if I like Adajima. I like my yaoi a little toxic,) for accidentally revealing information about a case or yelling at him when he doesn't get his coffee, although we never see him snap at Nanako like this

He leaves Nanako in the hands of Yu too often, in Nanakos social link where she runs away from home, although Yu and Dojima find her together, Dojima makes Yu talk to her because he thinks that's what she needs right now even if this whole ordeal was caused by Dojima not being there for her, he's a neglectful father at worst and this is where it shines
