Rio Blast/Snout Spout propaganda for the MOTU Rare Pair Showdown because I am literally the only person to ever consider these two in a relationship lol </3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
they’re the couple of all time. they hate each other’s guts. they’re canonically partners. rio blast mistook snout spout for a snake once and tried to kill him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Marvel Star comics are not very well written but something they manage to pull of surprisingly well is the evolution of their relationship! They go from despising each other to managing to work together pretty well, and in their final interaction together (the dialogue panel seen above) they’ve evolved to the point of calling each other buddy :)
Tumblr media
(apologies for making you look at Wonky Marvel Star Orko but these two panels best describe their dynamic. they are, as the kids say, rivals to lovers-core)
Tumblr media
also here’s a picture from a pm magazine power tour interview because I think it’s very cute :D they are having a nice time in nashville tennessee!
In conclusion oooh you wanna vote for rio blast/snout spout in the MOTU Rare Pair Showdown, you wanna vote for rio blast/snout spout in the MOTU Rare Pair Showdown so badddddd

Wow! Here’s something incredibly personal.
This is Good Bi Gender. A comic I made to express some feelings I have about my gender. I don’t really have that much else to say about it. Here it is.
[Image Description: A digital comic made with sharp, angular abstract lines and only the colors white, blue, pink, and black. The featured character is all white, except for facial features and hair colors, which changes from panel to panel. The comic reads: Cover Panel: The text “Good Bi Gender”, the words colored with the trans flag. It shows a glitchy person’s face, half pink and half blue. Panel 1: White text reads: “Hello. My name is apparently irrelevant. And my pronouns are he/him and she/her. But you can’t call me she/her. And here’s why.” Someone with a half-pink and half-blue shirt looks to the side. One eye is covered with hair, and the other eye is pink while the iris is blue.
Panel 2: The character sits happily, imagining facial hair and a masculine voice. “I don’t want top surgery. I love my chest. And I dream about being on testosterone someday soon.” The character looks at a phone, frowning. The phone shows the male symbol with an “X” through it. Text next to it reads: “People don’t seem to think that the features I dream of are very pretty though… Or they think even worse of them than that…”
Panel 3: The character’s features are all pink, and sits in a blank frame. The character reaches over to a blue frame, frowning. “I don’t like the animosity. I really despise it.” A photo of the character shows an all-blue frame and blue hair, with pink outlines and facial features. “To be a boy… I aspire to be one. I aspire to be masculine in all its handsomeness. All its prettiness.” Panel 4: The character sits in an all blue panel, but reaches back out to the pink panel. “And I’m still a girl too. I was so excited to have both. To love both. To have handsome femininity. Beautiful masculinity.” The frames break and connect, and pink and blue swirl together. The character smiles in between the frames, with one pink eye and one blue eye. “So excited. And yet I get asked…”
Panel 5: Two hands hold out two different pills to the character, one blue and one pink. They ask “Male? or Female?” using the male and female symbols. The character, facial features an array of pink and blue, looks between the two hands, distressed. “It’s both! I’m both! They’re not opposites. Not narrow boxes. I say I’m both despite the insistence that I can’t be. And I know what I look like. I know I look like a girl to most. I know that if I say people can call me she, that’s all I will get from most. Because it’s “easier”. It “makes more sense”. To have my masculinity, I am often forced to be unflinching in it and it alone. To never use she. Because if I don’t, I will never get to have he.” [The words “she” and “he” are italicized.] Panel 6: Text reads: “I’m still very happy to be so comfortable in my identity. To know, despite all that, that I am indeed a boy and a girl and both. But you know. Telling people to only use he/him for me. Guarding my masculinity all just to have it. All at the expense of the part of me who is happily and unashamedly a girl.” The character cries from one pink eye, the other hidden. The character holds a pink girl in a sea of blue, the girl crying out. In the midst of the blue, text reads: “Well, it fucking breaks her heart.” End ID]
Edit: @starberry-skies wrote an ID for the comic, so I added it to the og post with its permission!

It’s Renkon Rants About Comics time!
Today we’ll be talking about a vignette from the Masters of the Universe “Origins of Eternal” vol. 2. I actually have at least one complaint about every vignette in this volume, but there’s one in particular that irritates me enough that it deserves its own post.
So here it is!
Tumblr media
Evil-Lyn’s “Origin” Story
First of all. It’s not an origin story at all. Lyn is already Evil-Lyn. Not only is she already Evil-Lyn, but Evil-Lyn is already well known enough that a person can take one look at her and be like, “Oh, shit! That’s Evil-Lyn who works with Skeletor!”
Tumblr media
So where’s the “origin” part of this “origin story”? Where is it? Huh? Huh, Kyle Higgins, Writer? Where is the “origin” part of this origin story you’ve written?
But, ya know, that’s not even my biggest complaint.
The story isn’t even about Evil-Lyn!
In a comic that’s supposed to be all about origin stories, I expected the story entitled “Evil-Lyn” to be about Evil-Lyn. I wanted to read about Evil-Lyn!
Instead, the story focusses on and is told through the eyes of this guy:
Tumblr media
Nolar Blak, a washed up and utterly unremarkable former member of the Eternos guard.
The comic begins with him monologuing in a bar about how people move to the big city to get a big name and be somebody, or for power, or whatever.
We don’t even meet Evil-Lyn until the bottom of the second page. And considering that the whole story is only 10 pages, that means that 15% of this vignette goes without it’s title character.
Tumblr media
Even after we meet Evil-Lyn, the story still does not switch focus to her. It’s still all about this bland and generic male protagonist. We’re subjected to more monologuing about how they go about their lives only meeting up to casually sleep together every now and again. (Which, honestly, good for her! I’m glad Lyn’s getting some from somewhere because there is some debate in the fandom over whether or not Skeletor is putting out for her. So, go you, Evil-Lyn. Get it gurl!)
Anyway, he asks her to run away with him and she says she can’t unless he steals this powerful magical item for her. So he does, and after he gives it to her Evil-Lyn kills him and goes back to Skeletor.
Tumblr media
I honestly… I’m so confused by this vignette. Like, are we supposed to feel bad for this guy? Are we supposed to empathize with him? All we see him do for 10 pages is drink, fight, have sex, and die. He’s just so un-compelling. I was relived when Lyn got rid of him and went back to Skeletor. Serves him right for trying to be the main character in a story that was supposed to be about Evil-Lyn.
tl;dr
it’s not an “origin” story at all
it’s not even about Evil-Lyn
They made her a side character in her own story!
I wanted to read about my Bad Bitch. Instead I got this sad-sack.

It’s almost Purim, so it’s time to share this 1845 article about two Jewish drag kings/crossdressers/trans men. I love these two and I want to be their best friend.
Tumblr media
I have no idea why Purim is referred to as the ‘Ram’s Head Festival’; it’s not named but I’m 99% sure this is about Purim based on the date and the description (the masks, and the long-established tradition of crossdressing on Purim). Maybe they got it confused with Rosh Hashanah and it’s an oblique reference to a shofar?
Absolutely incredible use of the passive voice: ‘During their scuffle with the policemen, the fair daughters of Israel were relieved of their gold bracelets and several articles of rich jewellery.’ Relieved by whom? Who can say? I’m very proud of these funky fresh boys for beating the shit out of at least one cop.
