“ CLINGY ONE NIGHT STANDS ! “ (½)
It was a silly mistake — a mistake that still brought a scarlet tint to her cheeks and a devious smile to her glossy lips when she thought back on it late at night — but a mistake, nonetheless. She had heard all the warnings, all the horror stories about him and his crew that sounded straight out of a movie yet she still found herself wanting to get a front row seat to all this action without any hesitation or afterthought. Even with all the people speaking in her ear about how she’ll regret ever -voluntarily -involving herself with him, she still found herself on top of his shirtless figure with her fingers entangled in his already mess of a hair and her lips pressed up against his.
In her mind, she figured that by the time Monday rolled in, their shared Friday night in her room would phase out of his head and he’d set his sights on another girl to torment.
She was wrong.
Stuffing her tiny locker with her messy assortment of notebooks and textbooks, she let out a sigh of relief when she realized it was the passing period before her last class and she hadn’t caught a glimpse of him all day. Despite the fact that she was avoiding all his usual hangout places and skipping shared classes, it was still a miracle that he hadn’t found a way to see her or talk to her, given his usual stalker habits. She would remember to thank the man upstairs for that later but right now, she was focused on making it through another forty minutes without accidentally stepping into his radar.
It wasn’t that the night was completely horrible. It was fantastic, actually. It was dream-like, even, but from the little snippets of odd conversation they had and the multiple bruises and cuts he left on her body were enough to serve as reason to finally stay away from him. Promises of making her all his forever and showing her worse if she didn’t listen to him would’ve sounded romantic if she was still fazed out with her past crush on him but the reality finally hit her that night when he left and she was desperate to stay away now.
“You look great, looks like you decided to come to your senses and bail on your little Friday date.”
Looking over her shoulder to where her best friend stood behind her, she offered a meek smile at the comment, knowing how untrue the statement was. She was grateful that the gloomy day had given her the perfect excuse to wear sleeves long enough to cover the multiple indigo splotches adorning her arms. Smoothing down her hair down her shoulders, hiding the vicious hickeys resting along her the sides of her neck, Y/N slammed her locker shut and turned to her friend with a shameful look.
“I…didn’t bail on the date.” Quickly noting the way her friend’s once gleeful expression fell into a worrisome one at the hesistant confession, she delivered the better part of the news. “But, I have decided to finally listen to you and cut him completely out of my life.”
“Oh, Y/N.” Despite the optimism Y/N tried to deliver with that false promise, her friend shook her head at her, knowing it’s a meaningless promise now.
Deep down inside, Y/N knew her friend’s awful pessimism on the situation was completely justified. Even with the constant attempts to push out the multiple threats that Hockstetter whispered in her ear as if they were sweet words, she still couldn’t diminish the uneasiness she felt when she entered the school that morning. It felt as though she were always on her toes, anticipating him jumping out of a corner and confronting her sudden change of attitude with his unnecessary roughness.
Before Y/N could get another word out to come to her defense, a door slamming open to their left called for their attention; the culprit behind it leaving the pair wide eyed. Y/N mumbled a vile string of curse words under her breath, her heart beating far too loudly in her ear as they watched Patrick Hockstetter stomping out of the classroom with anger radiating off of him and fists clenched at his side. The duo’s idea of running away was only present for a split second before Patrick caught sight of them, the frustration present in his facial features fading into amusement when he saw Y/N for the first time since Friday.
All morning, she had planned what she would say and do if she came into this predicament yet now that she was watching him stride towards her and her friend was gone from her side, it felt as though her whole world outside of him was put on pause. It felt as though she was forced to stand there and take whatever he threw at her, leaving herself to be under his control now.
“What is this? Are you planning our first threesome now with your best friend?”
Those were definitely not the first words she expected to hear after she had been ignoring him all day but looking up at him, there were still signs of anger lingering around his demeanor alongside his usual dangerous vibe; it was enough to leave her speechless. Taking a long step forward to her to close the distance, pushing her feeble body back into the lockers behind her, he dropped a heavy hand on the side of her face and forced her attention on him and him only.
“If I knew better, I’d think you were avoiding me all day, baby.” Y/N’s breath staggered when she felt his fingertips deeply press into her cheekbones, the familiar pain bringing her back to their shared Friday night. “But I don’t think you’d do that to me after our great night, right?”
The corners of his lips curled up in glee when he saw her eyes began to water from the tight hold on her face. Pressing his body further up against hers, ignoring the squeak that jumped out of her lips when the lockers dug into her back, he placed his other hand on the side of her waist where he vividly remembered leaving a burn mark.
“I was avoiding you.”
The statement lacked the defiance she wanted it to give as she stuttered, his hands emitting more pain on her body than he did on Friday as he pressed against the injury on her waist. While her attitude was hot to a point, he was still pretty pissed from being ignored all day from what he considered his now. Mixing the annoyance he had from her with the frustrating teacher he had last period, he was ready to unwind with his favorite hobby.
“Is your memory that bad that you forgot what I told you on Friday?” The hand he had locked on her face fell to her neck, brushing away the stray hair that covered what he considered art on her neck.
“Patrick—“
“Hockstetter to the principal’s office, now.”
Patrick laughed at Y/N jumping under his hold due to the teacher’s voice booming through the now empty hall, his hold on her lingering a second longer before the teacher let out a cough. Untangling himself from her, he begrundingly followed after the teacher that had just reprimanded him in class but not before whispering to Y/N to meet him in the janitor’s closet - telling her that it’ll only be a minute or two.
Y/N stood there in her same position, eyeing the infamous janitor’s closet he mentioned and weighing her options. On one hand, she could just accept her fate but on the other hand, she could just walk away and think of better ways to avoid him. While the latter option was far more complicated and emotionally draining, when she looked over at the closed door, it seemed like the superior one in the long end.
Wrapping her fingers around the strap of her backpack, she took one last glance at the door before making a bee line for the exit door, unaware of the pair of eyes watching her.
authors note: this took longer than anticipated (typical me)and it’s weak af and it’s not a request but it was something to get me out of my writer’s block and like a little snippet, requests are coming out soon and they’ll be 10000x better than this SOO keep sending ‘em in 🤬🤬🤬 this is just like a test ?!! a way to get back in the groove of this ok ok thank u
