Mike’s face right after Will says “What about us?” is making me insane. He looks so hopeful but conflicted at the same time.

Finn said Mike is clueless about Will’s feelings so why does he interpret Will asking about their friendship as romantic? Why does he feel the need to remind Will that they’re just friends, TWICE??

What other explanation is there for him needing to emphasize this if he has no idea Will is in love with him? There’s no reason for him to be this defensive unless he’s already thought about them being more than friends before.

Then once Mike realizes Will was only asking why they weren’t best friends anymore, he literally looks like he’s about to cry.

Mike is probably really frustrated with himself for even thinking Will was suggesting anything romantic. From his point of view, Will has moved on and found someone he likes. He didn’t reach out while Mike tried to call so many times but never got a call back.

I have a very selfish vent to make

As a long term Byler, it is kinda grating on me that everyone and their mother ships it now. I’m glad it has a chance to be endgame now and is getting the love it deserves, but that doesn’t stop the hate we’ve received since the start of the show. Being called delusional for reading into the subtext of the show… I feel bitter every time I see new bylers appear with new stuff, coming up with things we’ve been saying for years…

Of course I’m glad that everyone’s excited and it’s getting some love… but it’s just so frustrating after so long of having to defend a ship only for everyone to jump on it after the show makes it obvious. I don’t wanna gatekeep, I hate fandom gatekeeping… I guess I just find it a little frustrating

That being said, new bylers, you’re welcome in this space. Just if you’ve sent a Byler hate in the past, think about the difference between now and then 😬
