I'm curious, if you suddenly became rich and didn't need to work, what would you do with your day?

I'd write and do so many crafts

#i would still write bc i love my job. i would join an expensive gym with a sauna though. and do way more local community ed classes #i’d still knit embroider cross-stitch and garden but i wouldn’t worry about spending too much money on plants or supplies #and i’d spend money to finish parts of my house so i has room for all those hobbies #i’d learn bookbinding and glass blowing and pottery #i would rent an rv and travel to the national parks you can get to in the contiguous us #i’d buy my friends am the This Made Me Think of You gifts I ever see #I’d spend time with my family without worrying about productivity #and i would foster more dogs #oh and I’d be able to let a friend live with me who needs a place to stay if i had more finished space in my house #due to the aforementioned having money to finish it

The thing about Cottagecore is that is a fetishized aesthetic of country life, divorced from labor and idealized by a primarily urban audience with a backward looking ethos of tradition. They are not prepared for the stresses of a rural life: farming; harvesting; tapping pumpkins to ensure none of them have been replaced with flesh; losing out on income by having to use one of your pigs in a blood sacrifice to paint protective sigils over your doors and windows; checking cracks and chimneys for the flesh-vines of the Pumpkin Lord; having to decide, before the Growth is complete, whether that's really your tradwife or an amassment of vines, leaves, and blood in the shape of your tradwife; ignoring their desperate pleas that "I'm me! Yesterday I got the big wool blankets warped up on the loom at the studio. It looks like Lisa Frank barf and I love it. It took almost the whole weekend to warp and I only got about 20 minutes of actual weaving in before I had to leave. I wanna go back!!
