this has been annoying the absolute shit out of me, and people keeping talking about it, so lets talk about it: Nick Nelson reitirating that he is Bisexual is a necessity. It is literally him correcting people on HIS sexuality because others keep stating he is gay because he's in a relationship with someone of the same gender. It's not "cringe", it's not "stupid", its necessary. When you are part of the LGBTQ+ community you literally do not ever stop coming out. This is especially true in situations like Nick's - everyone automatically assumes that he is gay because he's with Charlie; he goes no, I'm Bi actually - because he is.

It'd be like someone assuming you were straight because you were with someone of the opposite gender, or gay/lesbian because you were with someone of the same gender.

He quite literally does not get to stop coming out, because other people are making assumptions and he is correcting those assumptions.

Heartstopper is not affected by any strikes afaik since it's a British production

I’m not sure this is true! I think individual actors could still be SAG-Aftra members, which means they’re still subject to the strike requirements, i.e. they can’t promote their work on social media. A lot of the print interviews that have been released have disclosure statements specifying that they happened before the strike was announced so I’m assuming at least some of the cast are SAG-Aftra members. I also noticed most of them haven’t reposted as much from Netflix as they usually would or if they post they’re vague about why (like Joe Locke). It’s possible Tobie’s an Equity actor instead of SAG but I don’t think there’s a hard line where British tv shows aren’t affected by the strike.

Also also I continue to believe Joe Locke does not get enough credit for his performance as Charlie Spring like Charlie’s arc in s2 is so much darker, it’s complex and nuanced and it’s raw and he does such a good job of conveying that Charlie is in the very beginning stages of a downward mental health spiral and that he is running himself ragged attending to everyone’s needs but his own omg it just hurts
