{Sunflower is Suzuki Tatsuhisa’s favourite flower. The meaning in Japanese flower language is ‘Yearning’ and ‘Looking only at you’.}

Iwata & Hanae : What was this about?

Shimazaki : After recording, Kamiya-san, manager from Aoni pro, Ono-san, and I were having meal together. We went to a very expensive Sukiyaki restaurant. Then after we finished, Kamiya-san was suddenly, “You go pay the food”. He looked so happy. Kamiya-san’s mood was so delighted that Ono-san would pay it for him.

Ono : There’s usually a pretense, men do the janken, the one who winning it is willing to pay, “I win so I’ll pay for you,” but that time…

Shimazaki : You won it.

Ono : No, rather, that was the no-matter-what-I-have-to-pay game, that’s not even a game, but a command! “Ono-kun, thanks for the treat”.

Shimazaki : Yes, Kamiya-san said.

Hino : Ono-kun looked like he wanted to pay it anyway.

Shimazaki : Ah, right.

Ono : Oi, I remember you!

Iwata : Did another thing happen?

Ono : You, Kamiya-san was also there (and Fukuyama Jun), we were having meal together. After we ate and I returned from the toilet, everyone was gone. Which part did I look like eagerly wanted to treat you?

Iwata : They ran away?

Hino : I’m not clearly remember.

Ono : Don’t forget it!

Kamiya : Did that ever happen?

Ono : You also cooperated!

Kamiya : Well this time, in the end we paid it fifty-fifty.

Ono : That’s right.

Kamiya : Then I’ll pay the half, I said. But I was surprised when saw the bill. This is even too much for us both.

Ono : And someone like Nobunaga-kun.

Shimazaki : Someone like…

Kamiya : Because, he’s poor isn’t he? The total bill is this much. Well my manager is fine, but what about this guy?

Ono : Right. Let’s pay it half and half then.

Shimazaki : Was it cost that much?

Kamiya : It was…

Shimazaki : Hah… um, I’ll pay it later… I bring my wallet…

Kamiya : You noisy, it’s okay!

Ono : Couldn’t be helped, you idiot…

Not a Goodbye

Five years ago, Butterfly Blue completed The King’s Avatar.

Four years ago, The King’s Avatar began being translated. 

This year, coincidentally on Su Muqiu’s birthday, the novel finished being translated.

In these past few years, The King’s Avatar was adapted into a stage play, a manhua, a donghua, a live action, and a movie.

As Butterfly Blue mentioned in his Weibo post, “Their future is in your hands alone,” and their future has been continuously adapted and recreated long after their main story finished.

Beyond the pages, the story and characters continue to live on through the fans.

Whether you were there since the beginning, whether you joined at some point along the journey, whether you discovered The King’s Avatar through the novel, the manhua, the donghua, the live action, the movie, or the stage play…

Their story is still our story.

However, this story would not have existed if it wasn’t for Butterfly Blue, who portrayed Ye Xiu and everyone as such beloved, incredible characters that they became unforgettable existences, who designed a world so immersive that Glory became a part of our irreplaceable reality.

This story wouldn’t have been widely accessible if it wasn’t for the translators, who preserved the heart of the original content, who conveyed the subtleties, nuances, and colloquialisms of the Chinese language as they translated the novel into the English language. 

Thank you to Butterfly Blue. Thank you to the translators. 

The translations may have ended, but The King’s Avatar is still here. 

Instead of a bittersweet goodbye, I’d like to think of this as a happy hello because new fans are always being welcomed, because old fans can always return to The King’s Avatar, and announce, “I’m back!”  

A new start for us all.

“Morning”

• It’s not difficult for me to wake up on mornings. But, I am weak and affected by the changes in pressure. Low atmospheric pressure makes it difficult for me to wake up. But, upon waking up, I soak in warm bath. I do soak in the evenings too, but it is a must on mornings. It clears the mind, it’s good for your blood circulation which affects your body. So, it makes it easier to use your voice?

Also, recently Chiichi-san (Seki Tomokazu) taught me Ayurveda. Gargle white sesame oil in the mornings, but I only tried it once. Haha!

• Once my morning schedule is clear and if I have even a few hours, I go back to my place. I love my home that much. Even for 30 minutes I go home, then cook my meal. This work somehow have a several intervals of free time. Before, it was a pain to have that time, so I’d burn that free time somewhere. That’s why when I have free time, I wanna go back home. But, lately, I also have been eating lunch alone, or stayed in cafes. Maybe, I’ve matured? Haha. The times I ate lunch alone, the number of delicious restaurants I have frequented and shops I find interesting somehow increased.
