I hear screaming... Can't tell if it's in my head or not. I open my eyes and realize it's not a dream. My dad is yelling at my mom and my mom is crying. I hear glass break and I immediately get up. I open my room door and find my mom crying in a chair. I feel like this view takes me back to my childhood. Seeing my mother crying. Something so heart breaking... I never forget the times I have found her crying. This time it's different she's actually saying somethings back to him. All I hear my mom say is don't you ever hit me again, you are an abuser! That's when I start to cry. I just feel pure sadness inside my heart. Not because what she just said but because she knows he is abusing her and she still stays with me.

I wouldn't say I am happy because I have come to realize happiness is not something you can be all the time. I am at peace within myself. Once you reach peace within yourself it's like you are bullet proof.
