Shein's labour law violations
Online fast fashion retailer Shein is known for its cheap clothing, a popular topic for online clothing hauls.
Aside from being unsustainable, Shein is no stranger to controversies. The newest one involves a report about labour law violations by Shein, published by Swiss NGO Public Eye in November 2021.
If you'd like to learn more about ethics in the fashion industry, Fashion Revolution's annual Fashion Transparency Index is a good place to start.

venus! would love your thoughts and opinions on crochet/knit apparel. not just the usual scarves, shawls, accessories, etc. but also shirts, bottoms, bralettes and the like.
Crochet apparel, in order of acceptability:
Shirts: Lovely! Excellent! I'm a huge fan of a summer knit. Think a loose, open-knit top with no sleeves thrown over a sleeveless dress or linen tank.... lightweight trousers and sandals or else no pants at all.... margarita in hand and barefoot Dev Patel by my side.... the dream, my friends. The dream.
Dresses: Oooh, sure! I love a loose shift dress with a cami and little shorts underneath - just make sure they're not bulky enough to create weird shapes under the dress. Wear a block heel, either a sandal or an ankle boot, to really elongate your legs and continue the long, easy line the dress gives you.
Trousers: Yes, as long as they don't drag on the ground. Wear them with cute white sneakers or suede ankle boots, then throw on a loose buttondown and tie it around your waist for a cute little homemade crop top. Add a fedora or sun hat too if you like!
Bags: Spicy! Controversial! They look so very cool, but are they able to hold everything without your keys falling out? I don't know, and I'm scared to find out!
Shorts: Questionable. There's a pair at work that every customer loves, but no matter who tries them on, they have never not looked like a diaper. Maybe as part of a set with a matching sweater?
Bralettes: Super duper cute, especially with denim shorts and a big breezy duster, but dead last on this list because they never fit me properly. :(((
Hope this clears things up!

Gorgeous!!
This is the perfect example of how to be inspired: taking the rules/framework of someone else's style and using your own pieces to execute it in a way that you personally like, ending up with something influenced by someone you admire but ultimately 100% yours.
LOVE those necklaces.

How to add a little Stevie Nicks into your wardrobe
as requested by@forthegothicheroine Big flowy tops, skirts, and dresses. I'm not a huge fan of shawls, so this is how I incorporate that crucial "witch who is also a rockstar" vibe into my wardrobe. Chiffon is your best friend - try a tiny little top with a big swishy skirt, a belted minidress, or just tie it somewhere on your body and call it a day. If you'd prefer your silhouette to have some structure, the same effect can also be achieved with an oversized buttondown shirt! Belt it and throw it on over slim-fit trousers with platform boots for a whole entire Stevie Nicks-meets-David Bowie situation. Flare jeans are an indispensible yet overlooked staple of the Stevie Nicks wardrobe. They're structured enough that you can go as big as you want with the sleeves of your top - just make sure to emphasize your waist with a belt or a crop top so you don't look like you're wearing an entire circus tent. Top hats, duh! Stevie wore them to get some extra height on stage, and in my experience, they're easily found in thrift stores. Try this classic hat/pretty dress/cinched jacket outfit combo, or lean into the Victorian menswear aesthetic with a little scarf, trousers, and boots. Floppy berets. No top hat? No problem! Throw one of these on to cover a bad hair day and wear it with a pretty little dress so you don't look like a medieval page boy. (But like, a very rock n roll page boy.) Bonus tip: pile on the necklaces, because there is literally no reason you can't wear a choker with a statement pendant or two. Platform heeled boots. Doesn't matter how tall you are, add another four inches at least. The platform has an added bonus of providing a cushion for the ball of your foot, and a chunky heel will give you the stability you need to wear them with confidence. And don't be intimidated by the size of them! Just practice wearing them around your house first, where you can sit down whenever you need to and take them off whenever you like. The most important thing to remember is balance. Stevie uses tricks like low necklines, sleeveless tops, and sheer fabric to balance out the volume of her outfits - showing enough skin that her silhouette doesn't get completely overwhelmed. (This maxi skirt-bralette-crop jacket set, for example, is an absolute winner of a combo.) And above all, don't you dare shy away from drama. Be memorable! Take up space in the world and in people's minds! Make them know you're here! That, my dear friends, lovers, and gold dust women, is what Stevie Nicks is really about.

As you may have noticed
I have been on something of an unplanned hiatus these past two months. I accepted a full-time position as a stylist at Nordstrom and thus far all my attention has been consumed by the 40-hour work week..... which is something I would like to change.
In the pursuit of work-life balance, I'm returning to my little darling (this blog) to answer questions, post inspiration, and say my opinions once again. I'm also adding my availability for personal shopping/styling services! I'll be cooking up a price sheet shortly, which I'm planning to largely keep under $20. Message me off anon for inquiries!
Thank you for being here!
