my life has not been easy. it's brought me to horrifying places. some places i've still yet to leave.

i've lost a lot of people. a lot. every now and then, my mind will drift to one of them, and the hurt their absence caused me will return for a short while. it's painful.

it isn't wrong to miss those who have wronged you. for some of us, we can hold that grudge forever, but for the rest of us, we can't find it within us to truly hate someone for the rest of our lives. it just isn't right to us.

and that's okay. it's okay to miss what once was, as long as you aren't letting that threaten your present and future. and that's the trick, right? don't let their absence interfere with others' presence. that's what you must remember.

it hurts only for awhile. turn toward love, the love you currently have, the love you truly want, because that isn't going anywhere.
