What he was saying was true but she still wasn’t sure if that’s who she really wanted to become. “Who would I change into?” She asked as a rhetorical question which came out like a mutter through her lips because it was something she’d been curious about a while.

 She nodded deciding it wasn’t very interesting to have this argument since she didn’t really have a side she was on. “You’re right, they could if they wanted to. But I wouldn’t want to change overnight.” 

She couldn’t help but chuckle a bit, “That was my point. Of course being embarrassed by such a thing is very over dramatic. I know that, I just can’t seem to get over it.”

She gave him an uneasy look and shrugged once again. “I suppose, but mostly it feels like I don’t really have a home.”

He snorted. "Please, it's in everyone. You just have to get over what's been drilled into your head. Think of how much easier things would be if people just said what they thought. She smiled slightly but shook her head, "it's.. Very embarrassing. People talk about it a lot. Besides my first day at Hogwarts was supposed to be fun, it ended up being terrible. I wanted to go home so badly."

She let out a stifled laugh, “Of course. I was kidding really, I do admire your modesty. Always good to be modest.” She said knowing full well she could never be something like that. She really didn’t have the guts for it, and her public anxiety didn’t help either. She knew that herself, she was very upfront about things and sometimes they didn’t come out the best, but that was it for her. 

She groaned and put her head on the desk, covering it with her arms. What she would do for one person who hadn’t heard that story. Eventually when she was completely sure the blush had been flushed off her face, she put her head back up and sighed. “Yes, yes, I’m the girl who took forever. It was quite embarrassing, really.” She said, avoiding his gaze wishing there was something she could do to make sure he wouldn’t remember the rest.

I don't think I'm one for begging, so you might be disappointed. But, if you'd like to kill me do it in the least dull way possible. I'd like to make news.

I'm almost touched. But, I already knew that. Although, I'm definitely better than adequate.

Well obviously I’d torture you first, because it seems like you’d be a fun victim. Plus I really want to see how long it’d take you to start begging. 

Then I have a couple of ideas on where to go from there, although the idea of just keeping you alive is mildly appealing, because you’re actually an adequate conversation partner.

He knew he had brains and he wasn't afraid to show them. "I don't see a point in being modest. It's just a construct of society to mke us feel like less of what we are. I refuse to buy into it." 

"Having many of the traits isn't a bad thing." He squinted his eyes, trying to remember her, even if it was only vaguely. "Wait. You aren't the girl- Ah yes you are. The hat was on for, what, eight minutes? No there's something else about the sorting ceremony I remember about you, I can't place my finger on it just yet."

She shook her head and rolled her eyes, all with a grin on her face. “Alright, test me. I’ll pass any of your tests while sleeping.” She laughed and had to agree with him. A lot of students at Hogwarts had potential and most just didn’t care enough to use it. Luke was one who did use it and she did find that pretty impressive. “Fair enough, but don’t let that get to your head. Seems like there’s already enough in there.” 

She nodded, of course she knew that, otherwise she never would’ve approached him. “I’m a lion, but really, it’s debateable. I have very strong traits for every single house, the hat said so.” She said hoping he wouldn’t be one of those people who remembered her awkward sorting ceremony. But she hoped even harder he wouldn’t remember her even awkwarder attempts to make conversation with him that day.
