Ranking Star Trek actors from the UK (and the rest of Ireland too - I’m narrowing it to them bc I don’t want to type a post as long as a cvs  receipt) on how well I think they’d do as a Dr Who doctor based entirely on their Star Trek performances

Well his parents immigrated from northern Ireland and Canada has the monarchy on their money so…

Personally I think he wouldn’t be all that bad at it. A good mix of jaded and optimistic. However the loyalty to his captain and militaristic habits definitely detracts

Joan Collins (female lead of city on the edge of forever)

I don’t want to load this with small roles but city on the edge of forever is one of the biggest og Trek episodes so here we go

She’s got a very compassionate role here and compassion is something people like to see in the doctor. Her role was someone who’s got a bleeding heart and never did anything wrong ever. These traits while being things that can be good for a doctor are equally bad if they’re constant or applied wrong.

Old woman doctor though, think about it, munch on it. You see you see.

Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean Luc Pricard)

Marina Sirtis (councilor Diana Troi)

It’s pretty notorious that the writing team did her dirty. Originally she was supposed to be the smart one. I like her character despite how they frequently depict her in show but off of tng (I haven’t seen pricard yet) she isn’t doctor material. I’m so sorry

Colm Meaney (Miles O’Brien)

He’s perfect. No notes. Charisma is just right, perfect jaded to optimistic ratios. You can’t convince me he’d not do good.

Alexander Siddig (Julian Bashir)

The only reason why I’m not mentally placing him right next to Colm Meaney in my head is because I haven’t seen all of ds9 yet (nor have I seen anything after it, so this is my final guy) I think he’d be able to pull it off pretty well

I recently had surgery, and at the time I came home, I had both my cat and one of my grandma's cats staying with me.

- Within hours of surgery, I wake up from a nap to my cat gently sniffing at my incisions with great alarm.

- I was not allowed to shower the first day after surgery, and the cats, seeing that The Large Cat is not observing its cleaning ritual, decided I must be gravely disabled and compensated by licking all the exposed skin on my arms, face, and legs.

- I currently have to sleep with a pillow over my abdomen because my cat insists on climbing on top of me and covering my incisions with her body while I sleep (which is very sweet but not exactly comfortable without the pillow). She also lays across me facing my bedroom door, presumably on guard for attackers who may try to harm me while I'm sleeping and injured.

So I was scrolling through Tumblr, as one does, and came across a Taylor Swift ad that I didn't want to see. To express my opinion and disdain at seeing an ad that neither relates to me or expresses positive feelings to me, I simply commented on the ad with "Gross." For whatever reason, the comment was deleted with the falsity of being a "non-genuine social gestures" or "harassment." Of which it was neither, as it was a truly genuine gesture I had with the ad by stating an opinion, and I did not harass any individual or business as stating an opinion is not considered as such.

As I did not violate the rules, I simply went back to the ad and posted "This is gross. In my opinion. (I had to repost my comment as the previous one was removed." I have noticed that that comment has also been removed, though no email came with this one. The latest comment comes from 9 hours ago, and this seems suspicious to me... Dear Tumblr and Taylor Swift, I ask that you do not 'harass' me with ads that involve a Taylor Swift's music as I feel it is not a genuine social gesture towards me.

Anyway, Taylor Swift is a rich white bitch that would rather pollute our skies with carbon emissions and grab cash from unsuspecting fans to complain about problems that she's never had to deal with, allegedly.

taylor swift’s work wouldn’t be nearly as insufferable if she wasn’t constantly trying to present herself as some sort of tortured underdog. like, okay, she has endured hardships, and a lot of people, especially white men, are shitty towards her for purely misogynistic reasons. that sucks, i agree. but she’s never been an underdog before. she was born to well-off parents who did everything they could to start her music career when she was barely even a teenager, an opportunity that lots of people would kill for. now she’s extremely famous and wealthy, and everything she releases is destined to sell millions of copies and receive glowing reviews in nearly every publication. she is not an underdog, and i have trouble believing she’s particularly “tortured.” she’s not even an alcoholic, despite claiming to be one on the opening track of her new album! people like to defend her lyrics by saying she’s just playing a character, which i don’t believe for a second, but even if she was, i don’t think i want to listen to someone like swift play the character of a tortured underdog, not when there’s so many musicians out there who are actually tortured underdogs. it comes across as hollow. “you wouldn’t last an hour in the asylum where they raised me,” sung by one of the wealthiest, most famous, most critically acclaimed musicians in the world, who was born to loving parents who personally helped her start her career, who once said she’d never been to therapy because she “just feels very sane.” if you’re going to play a character, maybe pick one who we’re not supposed to pity.
