I don't think that some people seem to realise that autism just can't be accommodated for in all workplaces or companies for all autistics. It's just not feesibly possible.
And to think that it is possible is to think that all businesses have the time and money to accommodate that. Or that they can all just change their business on a whim to accommodate us.
And yeah, fuck capitalism. I agree with that.
But we just can not accommodate everything, so some of us may never be able to work. Or we may never be able to work enough for our earnings to be livable. Some of us are also just not in areas where these miracle accommodating jobs are.
"Get a remote working job", is also just not possible for all of us either. There may be some reason or another where a remote job is just not feesable either.
Autism is so complex that what may work for some of you just won't work for the rest of us. And that's okay. We just need to also understand that some of us can't work. And even if we are afforded accommodations, it may not be enough or the kind we need.

So I’ve been teaching 6th grade since January, and one thing about my female students which made me upset to realize is how many of them are obsessed with skincare. I've heard the girls in my class discussing the EYE CREAM they use. Like tf you mean eye cream? You're ELEVEN!!! I'm a decade older than you and have never even touched eye cream!! The most skincare a middle schooler needs is cleanser and moisturizer, maybe some acne cream. Who tf is selling you all this other stuff? Who tf told you you needed all this?
It hurts me to see. Their brains are too young for these types of insecurities 😭 no 11 year old girl should be obsessed with wrinkles, I wanna beat tf out of whatever tiktoker made them believe they needed skin that perfect

Unpopular take :
"We don't need to go to the doctors for them to diagnose a cold. We know we have a cold".
But some of you SHOULD go to the fucking doctors. Half of you walk around saying shit like "it's just a cold" and then end up spreading covid or the flu or a chest infection or god knows what else you're carrying. Or sometimes it's allergies. Some people are absolutely clueless and in refusing to do any test, even as basic as a covid test, they're quite happy to put others at risk. You know you're sick but you don't always know with what. And a lot of people won't even self-isolate when they're sick either. (I understand that for some this is difficult but my point still stands for others).
Some of you can't even tell the difference between food poisoning and gastro.
Anyone who has a customer service facing role ends up needing to take EXTRA precautions with their health because people are just clueless.
"We don't need to go to the doctors for them to diagnose a broken bone".
YES. YES YOU FUCKING DO! Doctors NEED to be able to DIAGNOSE the break, where it is, what it is, so they can HELP YOU. AND. Some of you DON'T EVEN KNOW IF YOU DO HAVE A BREAK! Some of you go home with a sprained ankle thinking it's fine only to have to go to the hospital because the swelling hasn't gone down and you find out it's broken.
Microfractures are a thing too. Sometimes they can go missed FOR A LONG TIME. Sometimes your breaks that YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT heal up wrong and cause more problems.
My point is. A LOT of people are CLUELESS when it comes to their physical health. And it is NOT a good comparison to use towards mental disorders/conditions.

I still think that my favorite urban legend/folklore fact is that there are certain areas in New Orleans where you cannot get a taxi late at night not because it isn’t safe, but because taxi companies have had recurring problems of picking up ghosts in those areas who are not aware that they are dead and disappearing from the cab before reaching the destination and therefore stiffing the driver on the fare causing a loss for the company.

you need to get it out of your mind that psychosomatic illness is just “making up symptoms” when it’s actually much more like your body is being actively poisoned by chemicals released from your brain
