Rinnie and Riela really don't do the same sorts of things 😂
“Hey, what’s everyone’s favorite thing to do in Himmelmauer?” Riela asked. “Give me some ideas.”
“I suppose saying get drunk and go to Temple doesn’t count?” Rinnie asked.
Riela shrugged. “If that’s what you enjoy.”

Various Social Medias
Rinnie would have all the social medias. She'd be on tiktok and instagram mostly. She may even have an OF. 🙈
Taryn would probably have an insta for her artwork but would post super irregularly.
Nathaniel would have a facebook or a linkedin for school but barely use it.
Killian theoretically has an account on instagram, twitter, and facebook, but he barely uses any of them and mostly reads stuff on reddit.
Riela doesn't exist on SM, though she does have curated GR lists.
Mica exists on old ass forums for alchemy 🤣
So I guess the question is... which one of them would have a tumblr! 👀

Given the blend of magic and technology, it's a little hard to answer how "advanced" technology is. Spiritech allows tech like security systems, health monitoring machines, shield control, and a lot of other things. The main cast all uses what technology they have access to.
No one's really avoiding it. I'd say that Mica and Riela have the least amount of experience with spiritech objects. The former because she grew up in a small town powered largely by steam technology and has been on the run with pirates for the last three years.
And the latter because she lives in an area where tech just isn't as prevalent. South Berthingtonn doesn't have the fancy gadgets of inside the wall. Though Riela lives under the shield like they do.

The books as colors...
TBW: Shades of warm browns like wood and beer and blues of the ocean SB: Reds like fire but also greys CTQ: Blue like ice and cold, purple like that dark magic trope of the early 2000s Heist: Golds and browns, some white

Once again, the Riela & Rinnie friendship gives me LIFE
The cold hit Riela all at once and she was grateful the train sheltered them from the worst of the wind. However, she also became painfully aware of the fact that her oversized coat was still in the cabin. Rinnie wasn’t wearing her coat either.
“I thought you hated the cold,” Riela said.
Rinnie puffed out smoke from her vaper. It was hard to tell what was smoke and what was frost from the chill.
“I do,” she replied. “But I also feel like I can’t feel anything either so here I am, trying to feel something.”
Riela rubbed at her arms. “Okay, but I’m only going to let you stay out here for a few minutes,” she said.
Rinnie gave her an almost sardonic smile. “And how are you going to make me go back in?”
“Hope I’m quicker than you,” Riela said, resisting the urge to lean against the frosty railing. “But also it’s only a matter of time before one of the guys puts together that neither of us have our coats.”

One of the things I'm going to do when I work on the next draft of CTQ, is turn this into Nathaniel's POV.
“Happy Unification Day!” someone shouted.
The room filled with cheers and “rahs” and responses to the shout.
Zeh’ave looked to the stairs and saw Mica wearing a flag around her shoulders coming down the steps. Rinnie and Riela were both behind her. Mica had been the one to shout in the first place.
“Holy shit,” Nathaniel breathed.
“What?” Zeh’ave asked.
He didn’t respond, but she followed his gaze back to Riela. It took Zeh’ave an extra second to realize what was special. Riela was wearing a flowing red dress that looked a bit more formal than what was really called for, but if her intent was to get a reaction out of her boyfriend by doing so, she was getting it.
Zeh’ave snickered.

On writing (mostly) clean drafts
Having an idea of where I'm going is a big thing. But actually, it's like when I wrote longfic. I'd be posting several chapters behind where I was writing, which meant I had ~5 chapters to go back and make changes if I'd written myself into a corner.
Same thing for drafting a MS. My alpha readers are a few chapters behind where I'm writing so if I need to tweak small things I have the space. Writing for that immediate audience gets me into a place where it has to be understandable.
Do I absolutely have a list at the bottom of the document that says: Changes for Draft 2? Yup. Are there plotlines that get neglected towards the end because fixing them is a major revision task? Also yup.
I just decide what it is I need to focus on for this draft and do it. Changes will be made later. Which did not happen with fanfic. I just had to retcon stuff or write myself out of corners. (Or quietly regret stuff.)

[the purest] monster: Is your OC monstrous in any way? Is there something that makes them monstrous? Are they aware of their own monstrosity? Do they accept it or reject it?
Picking the purest is difficult. But I'm gonna go with Izzy because she's largely the most sheltered. She's not monstrous, per say. But like her older sister, Lelia, there's a lot of lashing out against their mother that is going on. She's technically aware that some of the things she's done are against the law, but she doesn't really think it matters. She'll eventually come around to being more well-adjusted.
Thanks for the ask! From this ask~

On chapter length
I write until they're done and then I fix it in later drafts. I do try to keep them similar in word countand will move scenes sometimes, but I also have scene headings which make that easier.

write weird shit. Write indulgent au fanfiction and self insert fics. Write creepy horror scenes and random character crossover dialogue. Write in a different genre. Write that sex scene that you know won’t make the cut. Write about sentient furniture turning into werewolves that try to date your MC. Write whump or hero/villain fic. Write your kink. Write your worst nightmare. Write your delusions of power and fantasies of control. Write whatever the fuck you feel like. Write whatever comes to mind. You don’t have to share it with anyone (but you can). Your writing impulses don’t define your morality anymore than your reading preferences, and actually going outside your comfort zone will improve your writing skills (making a horrifying villain sympathetic requires good characterization). Even if it doesn’t improve your skills, that’s still something you created out of nothing. It’s still valuable. Don’t let purity culture kill your creativity. That’s how culture stagnates. That’s how writing stops being fun.

future: What's the worst possible future for your OC? Are they taking steps to avoid that outcome? Are they even aware it's a possibility?
Answering for Em!
The worst possible future for her is one where she goes back to prison to rot. She's already treading lightly to not get herself into a situation where that would happen. And yet, she's about to do a heist again -- supposedly it's the last heist she'll ever need to do.
But yeah, she's very aware that her life can take a turn for the worst and not get better. Nor is there anyone who will save her.

[the bravest] fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away?
Ronan's greatest fear is that he will not amount to anything. That he will fade into obscurity. When confronted with this fear, he metaphorically scrapes at staying relevant. He doesn't admit that this is a fear at all, though. And that's part of the problem.

[the most gregarious] alone: How does your OC deal with loneliness? Have they ever been completely alone before? How do they act when there's no one around to see them?
I'm gonna go with Lelia from Heist since she's generally the most sociable.
Lelia has actually spent quite a bit of time combating loneliness. It's amazing what can happen when your mother isolates you from everyone else.
Currently, she's going out on her own as a way to escape her mother's influence. She's doing relatively okay.
She doesn't really act all that different by herself than when around other people, except she tries to mask her pain more when she's around others -- something she doesn't do by herself.
For this ask game!
