I understand that there have been talks about an Israeli invasion of Rafah and I understand how absolutely catastrophic that would be for what is potentially the most packed area in the world, but I just want to point out that it feels like everyone is anticipating with fear a potential assault on Rafah whereas attacks and airstrikes are already happening and in fact they never even stopped for over 6 months now.

Keep talking about Rafah and keep talking about Gaza. There are absolutely no "safe zones" in Gaza and there never have been.

My post op appointment went well btw! Nurse practitioner said everything looked great, got my drains out, got to shower finally, feeling good. Five more weeks to go and then I will be free from the compression vest as well. Looking forward to it.

I am thinking about surgery and transness, I am thinking about it in an abstract artistic way and in a cynical manner.

I said something about this last year, but I don't care much for the general state of "trans art" right now. I don't care about divinity, sacredness, or any other religiously loaded word that everyone has decided to glom onto. It feels rigid and cagey. Maybe I'm doing it all wrong, but being trans has never felt like I'm somehow closer to "god" or "heaven". Trans love has never felt like some sort of holy sacrament. It feels like existing and exchanging. There is nothing about my body that makes it more special than anyone else's, there is nothing about transition that has made me "sacred". I eat food, I trim my nails, I blow my nose. I take Tylenol for aches, I take testosterone for adequate existence. There is no blessing given. It's all work, my own or the work of others. My boyfriend washed my hair for me yesterday. Is that supposed to be special? Should I make a black and white graphic about it? It didn't feel like anything. Ideas do not equal reality, there is no beautiful queer trans fantasy that must be lived out. There is just the physical reality of it all. My neck on the side of the bathtub, water spray getting in my eyes, him telling me to stop moving so much. Is the insignificance of it all not beautiful? Is that not enough?
