I know this is a long gone topic for you, but regarding your post saying how you hate King Orange taking in Purple as a surrogate kid, I think i figured out why it feels wrong now

In Note Block Universe where Purple explains to Green that he has failed twice to have a father figure, to which Green shows that Purple will still be loved by the others felt like that was the point of Purple's arc: That he should stop chasing and clinging onto the idea of a father figure when both people he has wanted frankly did not and (seemingly) will never care about him truly but rather how he pleased them (Navy wanted him to be a fighter and when that didnt happen he abandoned him, and King used him to retrieve the Master Block and promptly disposed and forgot about him afterwards), instead focusing on people who will care about him and love him for who he is and not what they want him to be - the Color Gang. When you look at it from that perspective it seems to make logical sense that would be his arc until the next ep where all that is thrown away 😞

it's just throwing away purple's arc COMPLETELY and the whole thing just rubs me the wrong way. i mean, i get alan wanted everyone to have a happy ending, but this was...not the way to do it
