I bought this vintage SMB2 puzzle, showing Mario and Luigi playing football with Wart and a Goomba for reasons that remain a mystery...

AND GUESS WHO'S THE BALL.

No respect for poor Bob-omb, whatsoever. He looks like he's looking back at Luigi and calling for help, and Luigi's trying to catch up to his cruel insensitive brother and rescue the little guy.

(Every time I see a Bob-omb with arms, I think about this Matpat video. "They look... fleshy.")

One of my (many) hyperfixations is collecting and customizing My Little Ponies, which I post on my Insta anotherhorsedreamer. I just finished my first Mario-inspired pony named Crescent!

Her design was inspired by an area in the B3313 ROM hack called Crescent Castle. I came up with the design a few months ago:

I finally got around to making the design a reality, so now she hangs out with Sparky in Bowser's Castle 😄

(Yeah, first the Bob-ombs moved in, and now it's the ponies. Bowser might as well give up and move out!)

P.S. I'm working on a pony version of Peachette next!

Sorry it's taken me so long to answer these -_-;

Fluff 8: What were their first impressions of each other? L: that Bowser was big, scary, and mean (all of which is true) B: that Luigi had the spine of a Blooper (which was mostly true until it came down to saving Mario's life) but that he did have a little sass to him (also true)

Angst 1: Have they made each other cry? L: not directly (not yet). I can imagine that maybe he cried at some point while he was imprisoned. I mean, I'd cry if I thought I was going to die and then had to listen to some of the stuff Lumalee said 😂 But that's different than Bowser making him cry because of their relationship. B: no. tbh I can't see Bowser as being the type to cry unless like, something happened to Bowser Jr. or something like that. I think that when he's hurt, he channels it into anger.

Angst 5: Name something they would never do for the other person. L: anything evil. I've read fics (well, a fic) where Luigi betrayed Peach and Mario for Bowser, and I just can't see that happening. I don't think he would sacrifice his morals or what he feels to be right even if he loved Bowser, and if he was forced to choose between Bowser and Mario, he'd choose Mario because Luigi's family will always come first. Luigi also wouldn't just stand by and let Bowser do what he wants, if L thinks it's wrong. Eventually, he's going to end up standing up to Bowser for the sake of the Bob-ombs. Mama Luigi is very protective of his little buddies B: sort of the same thing, he's always going to put Junior first. Although of course, Luigi would never want to come between them.

Angst 8: If they broke up, what would be their opinions of each other? L: he's going to think that his first impressions of Bowser had been right after all, and blame himself for being gullible enough to believe differently B: he's still going to think highly of Luigi and admire him (since his opinions have def changed since when they first met), but damned if he's going to let anyone know it Depth 2: What would be their love motto? Sorry, I'm terrible at stuff like that ^^; I guess the line from the song "Burnin' for You" - "I can't see no reason to put up a fight." They might as well quit denying their feelings and give in 😂

Depth 8: What is something they have each had to forgive the other for? L: Well, the obvious... imprisoning him, trying to kill both him and Mario, and the other bad stuff Bowser's done. B: Hurting his feelings by Luigi being so ashamed of wanting to be with him, and trying to hide his true feelings from everyone else.

(btw sorry for the lack of activity but I got made an admin on the wiki [by one of B3313's developers!] so I'm super excited and have been working a lot on playing B3313 updating pages. also gathering ideas to continue my fic about Luigi and Sparky escaping the castle time loop [and rescuing Bowser b/c the world needs some Luigi saves Bowser fic]. actually I just remembered I even wrote a little of the start of it, so maybe I'll post that.)

I have a number of Bob-omb trading cards and stickers, and these two early ones show how radically his design changed, fairly quickly!

The one on the left is from 1990, when he had arms and pupils, with no visible key (at least not in any art I've seen). The one on the right is from 1992, so he's had basically the same design for more than 30 years!

I've actually seen an Instagram post of a Bob-omb figure based on his original design, but sadly I've never found one for sale 😔

They're the whole reason I ended up getting into Super Mario and writing fic 😄 And this is the little guy that started it all:

I noticed him sitting on a shelf at CVS a couple years ago, and he reminded me of how I used to like Bob-ombs in the 90s. He looked so cute, I just couldn't leave him there, so I bought him and named him Bob-Cratchit-omb ("Bob" for short) because it was Christmas time.

Bob has developed quite a personality, and I sleep with him every night <3 He made me realize just how adorable Bob-ombs are, and I bought a couple figures I came across at Walmart... and then I somehow ended up with more and more Bob-ombs...

I started playing Super Mario 64 because of the Bob-omb Buddies, then heard about the B3313 ROM hack and got interested in that because it's chock-full of Bob-ombs. And that led me to create Sparky and write a fic about him and Luigi, and to watch the movie... and those two circumstances led me to write a Bowuigi fic!

ALL BECAUSE OF BOB.

I found a sad damaged lil Bob-omb figure on eBay, so I bought him to fix up as Sparky! I also customized a worn Christmas decoration into Sparky's beloved Power Star <3 Now they live in Bowser's castle with the rest of the Mob-omb.

Bowser tried to confront them, but Sparky and Chelle ran to Mama Luigi for protection. And of course Bowser can't say no when the princess of the castle asks him to let his little buddies stay...
