I’m a little bummed Bear Force One didn’t make it to the next round. I picked him to win. 🏆 But maybe Chunk (bear 32) will pull it off. This must be what sports fans feel like! 🐻 whoo! Eat that salmon!

Odd thought while pruning my tomatoes- Maybe all authors should pull their work from Amazon in solidarity with the strike. Yes, they would loose revenue but then their work would less vulnerable to piracy and data mining. Going ‘offline’ could be useful.
But I also haven’t looked at the publishing world in a while.

New tenant: I just saw Ryan Reynolds on the 13th floor!
Old tenant: There is no 13th floor.
Other old tenant: maybe there is? Don’t know. If you see him again, invite him to movie night.
New tenant: Goncharov?
Old tenant: Goncharov.
Other old tenant: I’ll bring the vanilla!
Using tumblr is like living in a low class apartment building. You just get used to the landlord not fixing things, and then someone new moves in and you’re helpfully like “oh yeah don’t drink the tap water, it’s got stuff in it that makes you sick” and then your neighbor you’ve had forever goes “oh they took the stuff out actually” and you’re like “what? when was this?”
“like two years ago”
“you mean i could’ve been drinking the tap water all this time?”
“yeah. they gave us individual mailboxes too finally, you don’t have to dig through the communal bin anymore”
“are you for real right now?? i just redirected my mail, i didnt know”
and the new tennant is like “why did you guys even live here if it was so bad”
“we like it.”
“I kinda miss the communal mail bin tho”

Fun fact for indie authors who have their books in Ingram Spark:
You can apparently go to a Barnes and Noble, tell them your book is on IS, and they’ll order a copy for you to sign and do a little social media post about it when it’s in!
(Granted, it’s one copy, and you have to individually ask each B&N store, but it’s still cool.)
I found that out by shamelessly eavesdropping on a convo between customer service and a guy asking about book tours. The guy’s book wasn’t on Ingram, so there wasn’t much the person could do. I went up and said “hey my book is on Ingram, could I get that email address you mentioned?” And she was like “well I could just look it up now and order it?”
So there’s a B&N in my area that will eventually have a signed copy of The Stray Spirit! I’ll have to see if I can slip in a bookmark and a sticker, too…

It's come to my attention that a good portion of the younger generation has not been made aware of one of the greatest and most hated PILLARS of millennial society.
So I apologize, but I must take on this task. A new hand must touch the beacon. The knowledge must be passed on. The chain can not be broken.
So.
The Game.
The following are the rules of The Game:
there is no winning The Game
once you know of The Game, you are always playing the game
the point of The Game is to not think about The Game
if you think about The Game, you have lost The Game, and must announce this to those around you - causing them to also lose The Game
A "reset period" of roughly an hour or two before loss announcements is common in colloquial rules to allow yourself and those around you to properly temporarily "forget" about The Game, however that is not an official rule.
Go forth, you next generation, and I am sorry.
