unforgettable
Tumblr media
pairing: seokmin (dk) x fem!reader genre: angst summary: there are love stories and moments that are just unforgettable word count: 509 warning(s): death, mcd, grief, mentions of car accident, hospitals author’s note: hi! it’s been a while. hope you all enjoy this little drabble i wrote. this drabble came to me while i was in the car after thinking about a random post i saw online. it was a sad sad post and a hint of what it was is in this drabble.
There are many things I easily forget on a daily basis.
I forget to water my plants. I forget to pick up the mail when I need to. I forget to defrost the chicken before I need to cook it. I forget doctor’s appointments I book days before. I tend to forget a lot of things and it’s worrying to some. But, I can assure you. I am capable of remembering.
I remember the way Seokmin smiled the first time we met. I remember the moment our eyes met at that party my friend organized for her birthday.  I remember the way he laughed at my poorly delivered jokes every single time we went on dates. I remember the way he made his way to me for hugs and kisses every single bad day. I remember his random cravings at midnight that we would go all out just to satisfy. A weird and simple task but to him they were excuses to spend more time together after his many, many shifts at the hospital. I remember his heartfelt letters and my cheesy replies. I remember the way he knelt on one knee and asked me to be his lover forever.
As painful as it was, I remember seeing his face in my mind the moment the truck collided with my car. I remember the way he held my hand every night after the accident. I remember watching him talk to my unconscious body while I try to reach out and respond despite knowing he would never hear me. I remember the way he would cry in secret so no one at the hospital saw their strongest doctor at his weakest. I remember the way he hugged my mother to comfort her.
I forget a lot of things.
But I can never forget the moments that happened before heaven took me away. I remember how he tried to revive me for the last time. I remember the look of determination on his face after every attempt. I remember the way the nurses and doctors tried to stop him from doing it after the third time. I remember how he pleaded. I remember the tears that flowed out his eyes the moment that familiar sound of death rang through the room. I remember how he sighed and composed himself before declaring my date and time of death.
July 16, 2023. 11:59 PM. Just a minute away from my birthday. Almost, but not quite.
I remember watching him cover me up himself. I remember the squeeze he gave my pale hand. I remember seeing his sad face as I faded away.
Now, all those moments are mere memories.
As I wait for his arrival in heaven some day, I look back on every moment of love and passion he ever gave me. Our love story never ended the way we hoped. In a wedding with our friends and family to witness the love we shared and would have shared. But, it was never nothing. Our love story was so, utterly, unforgettable.

hotdogs and waffles
Tumblr media
pairing: seungkwan x fem!reader genre: fluff summary: why did he not put those dang hotdogs in the fridge? language: english word count: 558 warning(s): mentions of food author’s note: a cute little drabble because I was inspired by a tweet i saw about someone’s parents fighting over hotdogs. I also switched up how i write these.
Being and staying married for 35 years is a challenge you and Seungkwan have conquered well. Nothing came easy to the both of you. Your marriage really got you wondering how strong you both really are and how you could withstand each other’s annoying traits. Sometimes even the smallest of things could spark an argument.
Take for example last week’s debacle about hotdogs.
It was such a small and simple thing yet it sparked a little argument between you and Seungkwan. At 62, you would think that your fights would have depth but nope! Silly little debates over the most random things seemed to keep the love alive.
“You were supposed to put those dang hotdogs in the fridge to defrost!” You said.
Seungkwan sighed annoyed, “Fridge, freezer, what’s the difference?”
“Did you forget? Freezer freezes things while the fridge cools things down. How am I supposed to have breakfast now?” You slammed the frozen brown meat sticks on the counter.
Seungkwan let out an exasperated sigh, “I’ll cook you some eggs and bacon! Will that solve things now?”
You looked at him, utterly disappointed, “I don’t want any of those things. I want my waffles and hotdogs!”
“Why have hotdogs when you can have good ol’ sausages!”
“What’s it to you? I want hotdogs with my waffles and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
Seungkwan sighed and admitted defeat. He wrapped his arms around you and pulled your chin up. He gave you a peck and hugged you. “How about we eat out today? Hm? Would that cheer you up?”
And that was how you ended up in the nearest diner.
You with your waffles and sausages (hotdogs were not available and you wanted sausages instead anyway) and Seungkwan with his hash browns and corned beef. It was not the healthiest breakfast for people your age but it was a nice meal to share on one of your many dates.
As you bit into your waffles, you looked up at Seungkwan whose kind heart will always impress you. “I’m sorry I scolded you about those dang hotdogs.”
“I’m sorry I did not put them in the fridge to defrost.” He said with a smile that still made you melt even after all these years.
You grabbed his hand and smiled up at him. “It’s okay, honey. Thank you though for putting up with this impatient woman.”
“This impatient woman is the only woman I will ever love today, tomorrow, and all those years we have left.” He replied with a grin, “I’m glad you still put up with this old man.”
“This old man is the man I fell in love with and will continue to love for the rest of my days,”
Seungkwan smiled at you and gave you a peck, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” you replied, holding his hand tight.
As petty as your fights were, you are still thankful for them. In fact, you are thankful for anything that gives you an excuse to still go on dates at 62. Even though you both could barely walk long distances or enjoy certain activities you loved in your youth, it did not matter. As long as you and Seungkwan had each other side by side till your last breath.

photographs
Tumblr media
pairing: dk x fem!reader genre: fluff Summary: photographs are much more than just images on paper. they hold memories we sometimes forget. language: english word count: 528 warning(s): mentions of hospital, virus, emergency room, someone’s passing (neither of the main characters) author’s note: something for those who yearn for a love that lasts.
There was nothing but photographs. Scattered all over the room were photos of all kinds. Polaroids, film, digital. Some dangled over her head. Some were stuck on the walls. Others were plastered on a screen on full display. She giggled at some and felt sad about others. These were the moments they had. Moments she kept in her heart.
She admired each photo. There was one on their first date. DK had his arm around her. He held on tight as if letting go meant never having her in his life. There was one at the hospital. He fell ill and she took it upon herself to drive him to the nearest emergency room. She forgot what he caught exactly, just knew that it was a virus. There was one at the school they worked for. It was her first day but DK guided her so much that the nerves she felt faded to nothing. The students were welcoming too which helped a lot.
There was at least one photograph for every moment that stood out in their 35-year relationship.
There was a photo of him outside her former apartment after their third big fight. The reason for the argument had long been forgotten. However, his efforts to be forgiven never left her mind. There was a photo of her by the beach at their best friends’ wedding. It was the very first wedding they attended as a couple and many more followed suit. There was a photo of her beside her cousin. She was a close friend and relative who was someone she kept close. Sadly, the day the photograph was taken was also the last day they spent together before her passing. There was a photo of her at the school. It was her last day before retirement and he wanted to be the one to accompany her on that very day.
Every moment with DK was documented. Those 35 years produced enough pictures to cover this small room. Who knew it would be this fulfilling and joyful?
As she followed the trail of photographs he put up, she wondered where this all ended.
It ended with a photograph of her standing pretty in a white dress with her man in his best suit. It ended with a moment at their wedding perfectly encapsulated in a photograph. A big photograph of just them laughing, the flowers, and the love they shared.
“Thirty-five years is a long time, love,” she said when she was reunited with DK outside the room.
DK smiled at his aging wife, “Those thirty-five years were imperfect but memorable,” he said as he tuck back her hair, “If I’ll be allowed to, I’ll love you for thirty-five more.”
He hugged her tight and savored her warmth. “I’ll make sure to love you and choose you each and every day.”
“Oh, you smitten man,” she said giggling, “I promise I’ll do the same. Even if you will slowly lose your memory of me.”
DK kissed her one last time before they headed back inside to reminisce some more. It was true. His memory slowly faded as the months passed. But, the love never did.

decisions
Tumblr media
pairing: lee jihoon (woozi) x fem!reader genre: angst summary: lee jihoon needs to make a decision language: english word count: 1006 warning(s): none author’s note: an angsty little fic after a fluffy drabble. wanted to write some fluff but angst had a tight grip on my mind. does this even still count as angst?
Lee Jihoon had always been expected to be one with the team’s decisions.
He had spent most of his teenage and young adult life going with the flow and nodding at meetings. He had been accepting of any challenge he might face. He lived his life according to both his and the company’s rules. He never broke them or even considered or thought about not abiding by them. In the company, he was Lee Jihoon, the man with the heart to follow what they said was right.
Until she came.
She was a breath of fresh air. A refreshing change to his souring routine. The zesty lady that brought so much joy to his life. He fell into a trance as soon as they met like he was put under a spell. Everything she did, she did well. She was perfect in every way. She stole his heart the moment their eyes met.
Laughter and happiness were evident in their relationship. It was what fueled the love they shared every single day. Their dates were done in secret but nonetheless still fun and exciting. The boys welcomed her just like how he welcomed her into his life. With her, he was no one but Lee Jihoon. A boy she loved.
Then, things ended so suddenly that it caught Jihoon by surprise.
It began with a phone call from his manager. An angry phone call over lousy headlines. They have been caught he kept saying. She was targeted now he kept saying. Then, those phone calls grew in number. Phone calls became meetings. Meetings became strategies. Strategies led to decisions needing to be made.
Jihoon knew a time like this would come.
They had been caught once but the reporters were silenced after one statement that falsified everything. Things had been okay until they were caught. Again. This time the pictures were clearer and the facts were practically confirmed. It had been a challenge to hide it all this time. Even with the statements and the reports from the company, things have not been good.
“It’s either SEVENTEEN or her,” said the CEO of the company he both loved and hated.
In simpler terms, Jihoon had to choose. It was either the career Jihoon built from the ground up or the girl he loved with all his heart. He saw this coming but never wanted it to happen.
His career.
It was the most intangible but important aspect of his life he can never let go. He was showered with love by fans. He was awarded numerous titles. He had songs written under his name with royalties he still receives. It was what kept him alive. Literally and figuratively. If he lost his career, what would Lee Jihoon be?
His woman.
She was the sky to his sun, the moon to his stars. The very essence of his being. She brought in so much joy that the boys always said it made him bloom into a better person. He wrote things with her in mind, some of which made it into SEVENTEEN’s albums. She was the one that gave him life. If he lost her, how would Lee Jihoon live?
Jihoon lay in bed. Two questions gathered in his mind which made him ache all over. Will he let them take away the very core of his being or the very core of his life? Will he go with the woman who loved him with the bravery of a queen or go with the career he built as a young teenager and now as an adult?  Will he betray the woman who saw through his facade or the 13 boys he called family? He thought and thought like a madman till sleep overcame him.
The world blurred the day he made his decision.
Like ink on water, the pain spread all over his body. Slowly then all at once. The world came to a standstill and breathing became a chore. His body was one with the world but his soul was elsewhere.
Her tears were abundant. Her eyes glistening with many more. She stuttered in disbelief.
“H-How could you just let me go?”
A question that escaped her lips that shattered Jihoon’s heart. He knew the answer but was it right? The things he’d do for love were abundant. But, giving up something like his career was something unimaginable.
However, so was losing her.
The very essence of his being. The very fuel to his heart. The one that kept him going. The one that cheered him on.
She slammed her fists on his chest in anger and sorrow. He let her be for a few minutes before pushing her hands aside and engulfing her in one final embrace.
“Live a life filled with happiness,” he whispered into her ear, “Even if it means living without me.”
The two sobbed their hearts out. They let the pain just sink into their hearts. Jihoon kissed her forehead. For one last time.
“Promise me you’ll be happy too, okay?” She said with the brightest smile she could muster.
“I can never be as happy as I was when I was with you,” Jihoon said with a soft smile, “But for you, I’ll try to live like every single day was much happier than the last.”
She smiled at him but the smile never met her eyes. He kissed her lips one last time. He savored the softness, the tenderness. He deepened it with the very fiber of his being and went in and pulled her close. He hugged her tight, as tight as he could manage. The man was devastated. Regretful even. But, maybe someday he’ll be thankful.
They let go and bid each other goodbye.
As she walked away that day, Jihoon thought about the what-ifs and whatnot. He thought about the future they were deprived of. He watched her walk away till she disappeared from his view. A part of his heart crumbled and died as he hopped into the van, a new chapter about to begin.

slow dances
Tumblr media
pairing: mingyu x fem!reader genre: fluff summary: mingyu and his partner dance along to some love songs after a dinner date language: english word count: 333 warning(s): mentions of food author’s note: something short and sweet for carats out there in need of a sweet read. a quick little drabble that i hope makes someone smile.
It was like the stars aligned for a perfect night. They sparkled all across the night sky as she looked up at her partner. Mingyu smiled right back even grabbing her hand to leave a gentle kiss. It was a wonderful evening. The perfect way to end the tiring week.
The food was immaculate. The steak was done to perfection. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The wine was divine. Mingyu and his girlfriend savored every bite making sure to leave room for dessert. They giggled, they laughed. All in all, the night was just right.
The drive home was quiet but the silence was not deafening. It was comfortable. It was nice. After many rapid-fire conversations at the restaurant, it was nice to rest their mouths from bombarding each other with more stories. As important as conversations are, it was nice to just sit back, relax, and savor each other’s presence.
Mingyu was the first to reach the living room. He connected his phone to the speaker and began playing a love song. His girlfriend had just entered the room when the song blasted from the speakers. It was a favorite. It was Mine by Taylor Swift.
Mingyu reached over and grabbed her hand. He kissed it before twirling his girl around.
“Dance with me, baby,” he said with a loud and proud voice.
His girl giggled, “Of course, baby!” She tapped along to the rhythm and let Mingyu lead her.
They danced around side by side wiggling their hips without ever letting go. They sang along to every word. She laughed. He smiled. Happiness radiated out of their bodies. There was no escaping the warmth and love in the air.
The next track began playing. Its slow rhythm pushed them to face each other. He pulled her by the waist. She rested her head on his chest. They swayed back and forth. They moved around the couches and table. Mingyu kissed her head. She closed her eyes. Satisfied. Happy. At peace.

memories after death
Tumblr media
pairing: soohyuk x fem!reader genre: angst summary: death does not define you. it is the memories that you left behind that does. word count: 478 warning(s): death, mcd, grief, mentions of sickness & disease author’s note: first imagine on tumblr but quite sad. apologies. anyway, hope you enjoy reading this.
Soohyuk always remembered.
He remembered the way she smiled whenever he brought home cookies from the cafe they frequent. He remembered the look of adoration she had on whenever she watched him do amazing things from afar. He remembered her sweet embrace and soft kisses when times were tough. He remembered the way she danced and hopped out of glee when her favorite Kpop group had a concert and he made sure to get tickets. He remembered the warmth of her love and the way she would brighten up his days just by existing.
Soohyuk will always remember.
He will always remember her enthusiasm. He will always remember the way she smiled when they reached the top of a mountain after a long hike. He will always remember how her food tasted and the love that went into each dish. He will always remember the dancing, lots of dancing, to the songs of every genre. He will always remember the joy on her face when he surprised her with the puppy she always wanted to adopt. He will always remember how happy he felt just to have her around even from afar at events and shoots. He will always remember the I love you’s. He will always remember how the spark faded but she still chose him and stuck by his side even as the days grew darker.
Soohyuk wished he could forget.
He wished he could forget the pain she felt when the disease caught her lungs. He wished he could forget the days in the hospital. He wished he could forget how he always prepared himself in case it was time to say goodbye. He wished he could forget the look of hopelessness on her face whenever the doctor said another treatment they tried had failed. He wished he could forget the way she sobbed her heart out thinking no one was listening while he was just outside the door.
Soohyuk’s memories of her replayed in his mind when he visited her grave.
He giggled at the happy ones and frowned at the sad ones. He held onto the teddy bear he brought for her the way he would have held her if she was present. Tight and gentle all at the same time. As he looked at the gravestone that bore her name, he could not help but wonder about the what-ifs and what-nots. He wondered about the things beyond his control and how things would have been different if he had prevented them from happening. He sighed and tried his best to accept whatever it was that fate threw their way. It had been the worst year of his life. But, somehow, he still felt grateful. A sense of renewed peace washed over him as he walked away. She may not be by his side anymore, but he knew he will never be alone.
