FFXIVMixedMay: Food/Drink

Baatu is a skilled chef who owns a restaurant in Thanalan. He has been cooking his whole life, as early as he could help out around the house. He's a big foodie and loves trying new things, both to eat and to make!

(Did a quick clean sketch this time around! I could come back to this one and color it.)

FFXIVMixedMay: Loss

Memory loss is something Z deals with on different levels. He does not remember any of his childhood, and he doesn't remember quite a bit of his adulthood as well. Or so he believes. His memories before he lived in Kugane are difficult to properly piece together. Sometimes he experiences minor memory loss from day to day life as well.

(Used the prompt Loss as Memory Loss since I couldn't really think of anything solid for loss of a loved one or loss of anything else. I tried to depict head pain when trying to remember things as Z struggles with his history.)

FFXIVMixedMay: Blasphemy

Childhood in Ishgard as a mixed Xaela was extremely difficult for Baatu. He was branded as blasphemous by the devout and shamed to be of dragon blood by most common folk. To the Elezen who had not seen someone of Au Ra blood before, his scales, horns, and tail were shocking to say the least. A child of tainted blood.

(Big shoutout to @midnightmagicks for helping me with the image idea! I pieced together this one, taking a screenshot for reference and using a stained glass window from clip's store by Ungck. Did what I could with what little time I got lol)

FFXIVMixedMay: Sineater

(Heavy Shadowbringers Spoilers!)

(I recently reached a point in the game where your WoL is becoming a sineater so I wanted to draw a hypothetical of Baatu as a sineater/lightwarden! This design isn't as detailed as I completely imagine it, but I have little time to work on this further right now. If I want to go back to this concept- this very AU of AU for Baatu- then I might redraw this sketch in better detail.)

FFXIVMixedMay: Voidsent

As Z hunts spirits and ghosts, he often comes across different types of voidsent. He is extremely in tune with such energies, something he does not bring up in normal conversation as to why...

(This was a super fun sketch to do including a few of my friends' voidsent characters! From left to right we have Liokki @prettygayway, Maeva @soulshards, and Quinn @placesyoucallhome. Thank you friends for letting me doodle your characters! I also included Moss lol.)

FFXIVMixedMay: Friend

Baatu's friend Briar ( @briar-ffxiv ) is also half Elezen like he is! They had very different childhoods, but they have a connection that's difficult to find in others. Baatu cherishes every recipe, sweater, and moment he gets from and with Briar!

FFXIVMixedMay: Job/Class

Zetoichi can be considered an Onmyoji: someone who manipulates energies and guides spirits. He travels all over the world to find and help spirits who need guidance or to deal with those that are malicious. He has attuned with two "corrupted" job stones housing the broken souls of two separate people. He is trained with the katana, resonating with his samurai stone. He knows very little about how to operate machinist equipment and often gets chastised by the soul that haunts that stone.

(His personal job will be Pictomancer since he is an extension of myself. Eventually in his story, his machinist stone will find peace and he will pick up the new Picto stone? Just FYI, Z was brought into FFXIV so I have done what I can to make his OG story fit within the boundaries of the lore lol)

FFXIVMixedMay: Family

Growing up, Baatu's only family was his mother, but nowadays he has a much larger family. Zansei Hansaku (owned to @midnightmagicks) is his loving "wife" and they have two adopted children: Hoshiko and Haruki. On top of that, Zansei's parents act truly like a new mother and father to him.

(I decided to sketch this since I had the picture pop into my mind of the family like this. It's really rough bc I didn't have much time, but I love them no matter what...)

(Here are two more pictures of their kids! I don't know if I showed them before, but have these extras! Hoshiko is the Raen girl on the left and Haruki is the Elezen baby on the right! :D)
