Thank U , love and Respect. (@get_repost) ・・・ Finished utility box for the City of Atlanta, on he corner of Pryor and Martin Luther King Dr. for "My utility box design features two portraits of Atlanta icons interconnected by a network of oscillating black and white lines. The portraits emerge on opposite sides of the box, as one single unbroken line, which spirals outward to form a portrait. One side is adorned with a portrait of the leader of the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Martin Luther King, while on the opposite side is a portrait of rapper and social activist @killermike Mike. I choose to honor these two Atlanta natives for their dedication to fighting for human rights, social and economic equality and being a voice for the unspoken. As the lines spiral outward from the portraits, they begin to meander across the other panels until eventually they conjoin on the opposite side, representing the connection Atlanta artists have to the city’s legacy of social justice and political activism." *Fun fact: technically I only used one single spiraling unbroken line through all the sides of the utility box. I love you Atlanta

#Repost @common with @repostapp ・・・ My experience on the Hope & Redemption Prison Tour has been emotional, inspiring and impactful for me. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to inspire hope in these men and women in the prisons and leverage my platform to make a difference. The prison concerts were just the beginning. Since March, I've met with various legislators about criminal justice reform bills, participated in a number of community events and continued my visits to state prisons throughout California. Next Monday at 6 PM, I'll be hosting a special community concert, @ImaginexJustice, on Capitol Mall in Sacramento to advocate for criminal justice reform and share a message of hope, love, and compassion with J. Cole, Goapele, Van Jones and many more. The next day, I'll join multiple organizations in the State Capitol for several meetings with the Governor and other legislators to discuss a number of upcoming bills. Following my visit to the State Capitol, I'll travel to the historic Folsom State Prison to perform for the men in prison. Photos by @SadeCJoseph
