i think that prolonged exposure to the jedi should have that effect, too. i think in a better galaxy, the clones that the jedi have invited into their lives and their home should just completely blow right past any and all life expectancies projected for them, because the light loves its children, even the ones that can't feel it in the same way, and they've all suffered enough.

it's the least of what they both deserve.

I've come to realize that it doesn't matter what happens tomorrow. I just joked on Discord that I am vacillating between anger and resignation about this conversation and...I still am.

Although I am relatively new to TCW fandom, I am not new to fandom as a whole and I've certainly seen my share of bad behavior in the past. Plenty of ship wars, people who hate slash, people who hate RPF...people who hate other people for liking what they like. Some of it was awful, but none of it was as awful as what I have seen antis do to fellow fans.

Story Time: I got my first tattoo in 1998 (or so) and it's a pagan symbol (the triple moon). When my sister, who, at the time, was just dipping her foot into fundamentalism, saw it for the first time she asked me if I would cover it up when she was around. And when I asked why, she told me that it offended her and offended God.

And I told her she could fuck right off, actually. And then, at dinner that night, I asked her to please not say grace because her religious choices were not the choices the rest of the family made. That went about as well as you think, btw.

How is this related to fic? Simple.

The choices antis make are not the choices other fans make and they have no more right to dictate what others do than my sister did to ask me to cover part of my body because of a choice I made. (BTW? This part of my body? An ankle. Nothing salacious.)

Ship and let ship is a good mantra, but it's too kind for this situation.

Fuck right off, actually is what is both called for and appropriate.

I know that not everyone is as comfortable with saying that aloud as I am. I know that many (most) fans are younger than I am and, consequently still have some fucks to give. I know that people have had VERY bad experiences with antis over the years and are scared of what they might do as retaliation. And I feel for everyone who is feeling those things and worrying those worries.

I just want to say this: You have the right to like what you like, read what you read, and write what you write. No one has the right to tell you that you are wrong or bad or immoral for doing so.

Come sit by me. I'll keep repeating that until you believe it.

I saw the ask you answered from another anon about cloneshipping, and I balled my eyes out. I'm a closet cloneshipper too. I came into the fandom about a year ago and ended up with the antis before I even knew what that meant.

I've started to secretly follow cloneship blogs, but I'm a decently popular fanfic writer in the anti group, and I really don't want to lose my readers by coming out 😭

I've never written a cloneship fic, and I mostly write x reader, which I know is a whole different topic for another day, but I love the content you all put out!

I put a short, non-aggresive blurb on my blog that I don't cloneship to appease the masses, and several cloneship blogs blocked me. It's sad, but I don't blame them. I've seen the hate spewed out by antis, and it's just disgusting.

Well, thanks for that list of friendly cloneship blogs, and thanks for being so nice to us in the shadows ❤️

i'm really glad that post was able to help you in some way, friend. i'm gonna be honest, i had no idea it was so common for people to feel trapped in anti circles, and it makes me so sad. we should all be having fun - that's what it boils down to.

being a writer myself, i understand the fear of losing your reader base. i only have one non-shipping work, but i have at times wished it could be separated from my cloneship writing because i'm really proud of it and i know that shrinks the amount of people who will interact with it. however, i'm proud of ALL of my work. all of it brings me joy - and not just that, but it brings other people joy. it's meaningful to them.

all that to say.. i think sharing my work with a small group of people who cherish it feels better than having a larger audience. but i know that's just me personally.

if i may, i'd like to encourage you to make a side blog where you can interact with fandom in a way that brings you joy, and an alternate ao3 if you ever want to dabble in cloneshipping fic. maybe you’ll always stay in both places separately, maybe you’ll find that one feels better than the other and make the leap eventually. regardless, the option is there, and we'd love to have you.

So I’m on a trip with my robotics team and there’s only two “girls” (me, an enby, and a cis girl), so we get our own beds in our own room, but the guys are rooming four to a room, but there’s only two beds in each room. Which means that two guys are sleeping on the floor every night.

I’m not joking. They were literally arguing over who’s sleeping on the floor tonight (apparently they plan on rotating).

i am so sorry you're in this situation. fandom is supposed to be fun, it's supposed to be a community not a threat.

forging new connections can be so scary/difficult, but i just got into the clone wars fandom like? last summer? and i have so many AMAZING mutuals and they enrich not only my fandom experience but also my life. i'm positive i'm gonna miss some, but shout out to my cloneshipping (and cloneship-friendly) mutuals, many of whom create cloneshipping works and all of whom would be happy to have you.
