(Julian barges into Garak’s shop.)

Julian: What the hell did you do?”

Garak: Good afternoon, doctor.

Julian: Don’t you ‘good afternoon’ me! What did you do to Sarina?

Garak: Whatever do you mean?”

Julian: She came to me half dead from poison.

Garak: Only half dead?

Julian: This is serious! She could have died!

Garak: My dear, you shouldn’t sell yourself so short.

Julian: Poison, Garak! You poisoned her.

Garak: On the contrary, I gave her a nice cup of tea after she came into my shop worried sick about seeing you again. If that tea made it so that she had to confront her fears a little sooner than she had planned, then all the better.

Julian: (bracing himself against the shop counter) You can’t go around poisoning my exes. We talked about this.

(Garak laughs.)

Garak: Oh, please, doctor, don’t ascribe to me the petty feelings of jealousy that you might feel upon meeting one of my former flames. A girl came into my shop with a problem and left with a solution. A quite simple solution, I might add, compared to the various plans that she was trying to concoct. Honestly, hanging around Quark’s like a lost pup. Attempting to barge into your quarters.

Julian: Our quarters.

Garak: Whoever’s quarters, doctor. The point of it is that she managed to face her fears and talk to you directly within a few hours of coming here.

Julian: Because you poisoned her.

Garak: With a poison that I knew you could treat.

Julian: And that made her throw up for a good half an hour.

Garak: A not entirely unforeseen bonus.

Julian: It was good to see her again. After the… well…

Garak: (leaning closer to him) You’re welcome.

Bodyguard AU (very loosely based on the Whitney Houston film) Former agent Elim Garak is (reluctantly) hired as bodyguard to a Alpha Quadrant rising  (tennis? pop? dance? film? ) star Julian Bashir. Someone is stalking/ sending threatening letters to Bashir (can be Sloan, or an OC) and Garak is convinced the young celebrity's manager, Richard Bashir, is involved in some shady backroom deals. Bashir's also hiding a secret: he was augmented as a child by his avaricious father and groomed as a child star (how dark you want to make this is up to you); we can even draw in Jack, Lauren and Sarina as former augmented child stars who were later institutionalized while their families pocketed all their money (think Britney Spears' conservatorship). Requisite scenes of Garak being bewitched by Bashir's beauty etc. They form a bond, start falling in love, shit hits the fan re: Sloan/ Richard Bashir's criminal activities. Garak takes Bashir to a safehouse on Cardassia for a short stint and it's very idyllic; Bashir meets Mila etc. Pining and angst and UST, with an eventual happy ending <3 — @irresistible-revolution

I had an idea for a fic where Bashir is searching alien porn and a new account pops up with Cardassian pics. None of them show the face, but he gets into it and starts making donations or supporting it or whatever, but his money keeps getting refunded.

He discovers it's Garak and becomes worried that he's been doing it for extra money (and is kind of jealous about all the other people viewing it), but it turns out he's the only one who actually ever had access to the pics, and it was just Garak being sneaky.

There's no way I'll ever have time to write this, so feel free to steal the idea!

Fic idea: Quark recently came into the possession of a bunch of seemingly ancient audio file recordings from Earth long before they were warp capable.
