Ah! We're back! After a slight detour with the Alternates, there's a new chapter beginning in Playtime's story! A 2nd 4 issue series that dives deeper into the world of Minor Threats!
Couldn't be happier with how this series is going and I always get full support from the team! Pushing some things from Vol I further, and getting to try some new colour techniques!
I won't say much more other than you should go check it out right now!

It's Wednesday! - Masterpiece #4
Whoops! Actually "It's Thursday!" but deadlines made me blink out of the day and not realize that Issue 4 is finally available to all! This was my favourite issue so far, lots of fun colours, Alex put forward some great ideas in the opening scene, and I can't wait to see them in print!
Special thanks to Moo Meng (who has been credited assisting me in this issue but has actually been helping since issue 1). We're moving onto the grand finale soon, Issue 5 first, then we have issue 6 soon after. Hope to see you there!

It's Wednesday! - Masterpiece #3
Ah! These are coming out furiously fast after we were working on them in silence for so long. Seeing them in print and watching the story unfold has been amazing!
This time around there's some new characters, a revelation, and a big confrontation! Plus a simple and effective spread that might have been my favourite to work on so far. (Piece of it shown here). Hope you've been enjoying it and that you pick up the newest issue!

It's Wednesday! - Masterpiece #2
We're back! New year! New issue of Masterpiece! This time I was around I teamed up with the talented Moo Meng (who had helped on issue 1 will be taking on a more active role with the colours from here on out!)
Brian and Alex did an amazing job with this one. The flip between the opening scene before ending it on more intrigue has kept us curious and on our toes going into issue 3! Like most comic issues, I'm only ahead of the story by as many issues that I've worked on, leaving me only slightly less surprised than a reader when they pick this up : D
Looking forward to dive into more Masterpiece!

It's Wednesday! - Masterpiece #1
New week, new book, new series! Not every day I get to work with an entirely new team and story.
Usually I know an artist, writer, and/or editor from previous work that bring me onto new books but Masterpiece was something that came out of the blue!
It's been an amazing experience to work with Brian and Alex, they really gave me a lot of room to have so much fun that I was always nervous when submitting colours in case I went too far! Luckily, I've had nothing but full support and it's gotten even better as we finish more issues.
Masterpiece is a new mini-series that has its first issue releasing today! I won't say much more other than I hope you check it out to see what we've been up to! It's filled with surprises and excitement for more comics : D

The Odyssey of Benedict Arnold - Wu Sangui & Yoshiko Kawashima
The final chapter of Volume II went up a little while ago and I have been diving into the next parts. Chapter VIII dealt with a duo of traitors from different eras, facing off against each other in the game of Go!
Along with their histories, I tried my best to learn the game, had some fun, and realized I am hopelessly useless at it... but I will keep playing to see if I can improve against those wily CPUs on a SNES version of Go that I found.
As these little detours into other traitors take me to other places and times, but only for a chapter. Even though I always feeling like I'm short changing their stories, I keep adding and learning new things along the way so I hope you will too!
Thank you for reading and hope you check out the newest chapters when The Odyssey of Benedict Arnold returns!

A little 8 pager I got to help out on for Howard's 50th Anniversary and it's right up my alley with a retro look! Was able to go mostly flat and have fun with textures and palette on this one. Inked in a wonderful way by Annie Wu with a great duck as a president story styled by Daniel Kibblesmith! Out today : D

The Odyssey of Benedict Arnold - Shajar al-Durr
One of those rabbit holes I went down after reading a short paragraph by Will Durant that summed up a person's life, in this case it concerned the manner of their death. Wanted to work this into the story for a long time now.
Found out a lot about Shajar al-Durr and the time period that had criss-crossed other points I've read about, but never dove in before! More to be read in the future but for now, Chapter VII has Arnold running around a museum and gallery, heavily inspired by the local Royal Ontario Museum.
Included here is a brief outline of her tale that I hope will encourage anyone to read more about the Sultana!

The Odyssey of Benedict Arnold - Benedict Arnold
More history interludes! This time refocusing on a period of Arnold's stint running Philadelphia!
Circling back to the main star after delving into different histories was fun, I had to refresh my memory as I'd read all about this years ago when I started the series.
In Chapter VI, Arnold faces off against an embittered version of himself, sipping tea in a run down cabin by the sea. It was just a vague idea at one point, scribbled down to approach later. A long road getting there, happy seeing how far the story has come (and how far it still has to go!).

It's Wednesday! - The Alternates #2
We're back with some more Minor Threats Spinoff action, The Alternates!
Other than the usual fun I get to have with this series, issue #2 features a dance club scene which has always been my nemesis in terms of colouring. Always leaves a lot of room for fun shifting lights though, and the results are never the same.
Hope you check it out this week!
