How to make blue rose

Blues roses that are on the blue and violet color spectrum are only available as artificially created. Whether they are created by a florist, by simply dyeing white rose with blue pigment or altering roses by biotechnologists to make a blue rose, which you can read here in more detail, where we described how they did that. All in all, if you want a true blue rose, you will have to dye yourself or ask a florist to do it for you.

Blue rose is the wanted flower. Many flowers that have a blue color contain a pigment called delphinidin, which gives them a blue color. Blue roses don't have this pigment.

How to make your own blue roses

First, take from your garden a couple of white roses, which didn't blossom completely, or buy one, if you don't have one. After that, take a flower paint in the spray, go outside, and spray your white roses with flower paint in the spray. Wait a little bit, so that color dries out, and there you have it. Your self-made blue roses are ready.

The second method is by placing a white rose in colored water for 24 hours. Although this is a familiar method for coloring roses, still it is important to mention it regarding blue roses because blue roses can be obtained only by coloring them in these two ways. 

There is something which you need to do, but, all in all, this way is very successful. Again, you will need a white rose, which is in half bloom. Then, take a can of water and mix it with blue food coloring. Put your rose in dyed water and wait 24 hours. After 24h, take out your rose and cut the end of steam for about 2 inches, and put back in colored water for a couple of hours more so that color is distributed evenly on rose petals. And there you have, your own blue rose.
