I have not found any reliable source that suggests gluttony was ever defined as hoarding wealth or recources.
From the Britannica article on gluttony: 'gluttony, in Roman Catholic theology, one of the seven deadly sins. Gluttony is defined as excess in eating and drinking. Although eating and drinking for pleasure is not seen as sinful, eating or drinking to excess beyond reason is a sin.'
Bible proverbs indicate that gluttony specfically indicated overeating.
From Proverbs 23:20-21, accessed via biblegateway.com: 'Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.'

Project 2025 is an outline of suggested policies for if the Republican party win the 2024 election. The quote given above can be found in the version shared above, and other copies I have found here and here.
Suggesting that the outline attempts to 'erase all queer/LGBTQIA+ - including the people - from the USA' is hyperbolic, but it certainly does push to repeal protections and rights of queer people in the US.
However, it should be noted that Project 2025 is not written by the American Republican Party. It was created by a coalition of right wing groups, primarily led by The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.
From Politico article Inside the Next Republican Revolution: 'In truth, the program laid out by Dans and his fellow Trumpers, called Project 2025, is far more ambitious than anything Ronald Reagan dreamed up. Dans, from his seat inside The Heritage Foundation, and scores of conservative groups aligned with his program are seeking to roll back nothing less than 100 years of what they see as liberal encroachment on Washington.'

This thread is incredibly important to read.
It is also extremely difficult to read. I don't know if I need to point this out, but the document itself is obviously full of bigotry so please take care of yourself if you choose to read it. Antisemitic phrases like "cultural marxism" and "global elites" appear before the document even really gets rolling, and are mixed in with transphobia, racism, and more.
If you want a taste of how this document starts in the first main section about "The Family", here is a taste:
"This starts with deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity (“SOGI”), diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”), gender, gender equality, gender equity, gender awareness, gender-sensitive, abortion, reproductive health, reproductive rights, and any other term used to deprive Americans of their First Amendment rights out of every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists."
It is all bad. ALL of this document is bad, and dangerous, and threatens the lives and the safety of everyone living in this country.

welcome to the party, pal
inspired by @is-the-post-reliable , i decided to make a research blog on an almost impulse bc I've been wanting to do something like this but never did bc I wasn't in the mood
so, basically, like that blog I'll too try to tell if a post here on tumblr is true or not
keep in mind that I won't do politics bc I'm very likely not from that place. yes I could do research but god. I feel like I need to do a whole history knowledge to start to know about the politics in there and I don't think a quick and probably shallow research will be sufficient.
that said, the only politics i'll be talking about is brazilian politics

RELIABLE - Entirely accurate, supported by reliable sources.
MOSTLY RELIABLE - Generally accurate, but may be slightly misleading (ie by omitting relevant contradictory information), or may contain a minor error.
PARTIALLY RELIABLE - Includes some reliable information, but also includes errors.
UNRELIABLE - Misinformation. May include some small amounts of factual information, but is mostly unreliable, or the overall impression is misleading/incorrect.
I also rate things as TBC (To Be Confirmed) when I feel I do not have enough reliable information to rate a post as reliable or not reliable.

Does your post about charcoal mean it doesnt work for drugs smoked?
Marijuwana
Hi! Activated charcoal mostly works on ingested drugs. It may have some affect on other drugs that aren't ingested but enter the stomach due to enterohepatic circulation.
After a quick search, THC from marijuana does enter enterohepatic circulation, so theoretically could be reduced by activated charcoal. This study suggests that activated charcoal may reduce the amount of THC derivatives in enterohepatic circulation, but the abstract doesn't clarify whether the cannabis was ingested or inhaled in this study. I've requested a copy of the full papaer from the authors, so I'll update this if I do get access!
In short, activated charcoal may affect inhaled/smoked marijuana, but likely wouldn't be as effective compared to ingested marijuana (edibles).

It is correct that activated charcoal (AC) can affect the absorption of drugs taken by mouth.
From the ScienceDirect overview on activated charcoal: 'In general, activated charcoal can reduce the absorption of and therapeutic response to other orally administered drugs.'
It's a bit of a oversimplification to say that activated charcoal 'flushes it out of your system', but the general gist is right. The activated charcoal adsorbs the drug in the digestive system, and prevents it from being absorbed into the blood. Instead it passes through the the digestive tract with the AC.
From The Encyclopedia of Toxicology: 'Charcoal is neither absorbed in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract nor metabolized. Due to its large surface area, it absorbs chemicals in the GI tract, trapping and carrying them out of the body without allowing them to be absorbed into the blood.
When it comes to drugs not taken orally, things get a bit more complicated. I have not been able to find any research on activated charcoal and HRT specifically, but I have found some other information that I will compile here.
A Business Insider article on activated charcoal suggests that only oral birth control is affected by AC, and other forms are not. However, Business Insider is only considered Mostly Factual according to MBFC, so I would not consider this as strong evidence.
From the Business Insider article: 'Dweck recommended leaving at least two hours between your pill and big doses of charcoal, like you might find in supplements or products included in "cleanse" diets.
And remember that this warning applies only to birth control pills you ingest: The effectiveness of the IUD, the implant, the NuvaRing, the shot, and the patch won't be affected by charcoal in the stomach.'
The Science Direct overview also suggests that, when AC is administered in a hospital setting, other medications can be given as long as they are not given orally. This would suggest that non-oral medications are not significantly affected by AC.
From the ScienceDirect overview on activated charcoal: 'When concomitant drug therapy is needed, drugs can be given parenterally if activated charcoal has been administered'
However, it should be noted that AC prevents drug absoprtion in two different ways:
1. It adsorbs drugs when they enter the stomach, before being absorbed into the blood.
2. It adsorbs drugs that are circulating back into the gastrointestinal tract from the liver, a process known as enterohepatic circulation.
Whilst drugs which aren't taken orally will not be affected by the first method, some could theoretically be affected by the second.
From the paper The effect of activated charcoal on drug exposure following intravenous administration: A meta-analysis: 'AC reduces drug exposure via two distinct mechanisms. It diminishes primary drug absorption by binding drug in the gastrointestinal tract. It also enhances drug elimination by interrupting enterohepatic circulation or by binding drugs that have been reintroduced into the gastrointestinal tract, by passive or active transport (enteroenteric circulation).5 Since the two mechanisms overlap, they are difficult to distinguish from each other.'
I located a list of compounds that are theoretically in enterohepatic circulation, and therefore could be affected by AC in this manner. This list includes Estradiol, Estrone, and Testosterone.
From Enterohepatic circulation: Physiological, pharmacokinetic and clinical implications: 'Table II lists examples of compounds reported to be excreted in the bile and therefore possibly available for enterohepatic recycling.'
Tumblr media
In conclusion, I could not find specific evidence on how AC affects HRT when not taken orally. Some evidence suggests it would not be significantly affected, whilst other evidence does suggest a theoretical mechanism in which AC may affect non-oral drugs.

In April 2022 (when this was initially posted), the median rent in the US was reportededly $1,827 a month, a new record high.
From CNN article on rent in the US: 'Rents in the US climbed to a new record high again in April, and they are expected to keep rising. The national median rent was $1,827 a month in April, up 16.7% from a year ago, according to a report from Realtor.com.'
The federal minium wage is $7.25.
From the US Department of Labour: 'The federal minimum wage for covered nonexempt employees is $7.25 per hour.'
Assuming you were to work full time (40 hours per week) on $7.25 per hour, your monthly wage would be $1,256.57. However, this is not take home pay, as this does not factor in taxes, pension, etc.
From Indeed's article on mimumum wage: 'The total federal monthly minimum wage is $1,256.57.'
It is often recommended that your rent should be 30% of income.
From Herbert et al, 2018: 'The 30-percent of income standard is a widely used and accepted measure of the extent of housing affordability problems across the country.'
For $1,827 to be 30% of your monthly income, you would need to make (1827 / 30) x 100 = $6,090.
Assuming you were working 40 hours per week:
6090 / 4.333 (approx weeks in a month) = $1405.49 per week
1405.49 / 40 = $35.14 per hour
Or
6090 x 12 = $73,080 per year
I had some difficulty corroborating that 'average renter’s household income is only $42,500 annually or $20.43 hourly (as of 2019 according to the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey)'. This may be from this table from the United States Census Bureau, which found that renter's household median income was $42,479, which could be rounded up to $42, 500.
Other sources also referenced the average renter’s household income being exactly $42,500 in 2019, but I didn't feel any of these were reliable enough to link. However, considering the very similar number from the US Census, I don't have too many concerns about this number.
42,500 / 12 = 3,541.67
3,541.67 / 4.333 = 817.37
817.37 / 40 = $20.43 per hour
I've not been able to verify how many US landlords require 3 times rent, as I've not found any data on it. If anyone can find anything on this, feel free to send it my way!
