( isaac ) ( 20 ) ( he/him ) ( gay ) ( artist ) ( trans ) ( Gray sexual ) (just as a warning I sometimes post art with blood or nudity ) I mostly post anime and video game fanart but sometimes I post art of my ocs (if you are a minor turf white supremacist homophobe pedophile pro life pro ai radfem DNI)
i think everyone leaving "reblog dont (just) like" notices on their art needs to think about youtubers and their calls to action and how often it actually works, how often it only serves to irritate, and when exactly does it work and why that might be and what makes those calls different to all the other ones that just get ignored or frustrate people. because you are doing that, and you're doing it badly, and youre losing subscriber
a weird thing is that we got waves of people going "who cares if its cringe or youre annoying! have fun!" but no one really learned how to accept the fact that some people will find you annoying or think your art or your work or posts or anyrhing sucks and thats ok. rather it just became a weird "if people think youre annoying theyre just morally bad. let people enjoy things!". like no i think this yes man only biome sucks and people are allowed to not like artstyles and shows and media and other things
about to say something mean but i feel like every "male-specific" issue is something that also happens to women its just that a lot of you dont seem to see women as people

Those who protest against Israel's genocide are punished for antisemitism.
But for some strange reason, authorities have never cracked down on antisemitism any other time. Any other time, antisemitism is considered free speech.
It's almost as if they know damn well that protesting against Israel is not antisemitism.
DISCLAIMER: This post focuses on India, rather than South Asia as a whole — although I roll West Bengal and Bangladesh together because eh, close enough. I am also not an artist, so these portraits aren’t super detailed. They’re just meant to be general outlines! And of course, they’re not meant to represent everyone from each region — this is a very broad guide. I’m mostly South Indian, but I most resemble the Northeastern face I drew.
——————————————————
Indians don’t get much representation in American media. And when we do, especially in animated shows and comics, we tend to be drawn in a very specific style. Look at “The Simpsons”’ Apu, or the eponymous Desi character from “Sanjay and Craig”. Illustrated Indians tend to share a set of traits: hooked nose, medium brown skin, round eyes, dark hair.
It’s always bugged me, because we don’t all look like that! India is hugely diverse: we come in a variety of skin shades and eye shapes and hair textures. That’s why I drew this. I hope it helps someone who wants to draw/visualise an Indian character!
NORTH INDIA: North(west) and Central Indians — from places such as Kashmir, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh — often, but not always, tend to have sharper, more hooked noses than South Indians. Large eyes and thick eyelashes are quite common across India; many North Indians tend to have slightly lighter eyes than their South Indian counterparts.
SOUTH INDIA: South Indians tend to have even bigger, darker, more rounded eyes than North Indians. Their noses are often (but again, not always! This is a generalisation!) broader, flatter, and more rounded at the tip than North Indians’. South Indians on the whole also have fuller, darker lips!
WEST BENGAL (AND BANGLADESH): Bengali/Bangla people have a fascinating history. West Bengal borders the Seven Sister States (the last region I’m including), and Bangladesh borders Burma. Therefore Bengalis tend to have slightly more Southeast Asian ancestry than Northwestern and Southern Indians do! A common Bengali stereotype is “gorgeous eyes”: huge, dark, long-lashed, and almond-shaped.
NORTHEAST INDIA (THE SEVEN SISTERS): This is honestly one of my favourite regions of India. It’s enormously diverse, and both culturally and ethnically unique. The region is densely forested and home to the largest number of indigenous Austro-Asiatic and Tibeto-Burman tribes in India, some of which display up to ¼ Southeast/East Asian ancestry (I’m 1/8 SEA/EA)! A lot of Northeastern tribes are known for having lovely almond-shaped eyes, golden skin, and high cheekbones. I tried and failed to draw a Chakhesang Naga headdress 😅😅
So you might be saying: Lion why a guide on drawing black people? Well young blood it’s because a lot of people cant…seem…to draw…black people..Amazing I know.
Racist (caricatures) portrayals of black people have been around forever, and to this day people can’t seem to draw black people like they are human. If your artwork resembles any of the above even remotely your artwork is racist and offensive. If you try to excuse that as a stylistic choice you’re not only a terrible artist, but racist too!!! Congrats.
Whitewashing is also a problem. A lot of people refuse to draw black features on canonly black characters. While this example isn’t colored, lightening the skin-tone of a character is also considered whitewashing. So lets start with features!
Now all black people have different noses thats a no-brainer, but black noses tend to have flatter bridges, and wider nostrils. Please stay from triangular anime noses and small button noses. Your drawings should not depict black people with abnormally large noses. (Especially if you do not draw other characters this way)
If you feel like the way you draw lips on black characters is offensive or resembles a caricature,it probably does and you should change it. ABSOLUTELY AVOID PLACING LIPS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FACE.
Hair is so diverse! Please get used to drawing braids, locs, kinks and coils! If you can learn to draw ringlets and long waves you can learn how to draw black hairstyles.
Add clips! Learn how to draw baby-hairs and never be afraid to add color Pinterest and Google are free my dudes! Also try using square brushes for blocking in coils.
