Headcanon that Eret is deeply traumatized and sometimes gets a sharp pain in his scar whenever he thinks back on his time under Drago’s command, as if he’s getting the scar for the first time all over again.

I just know that Hiccups hugs are the most comforting things on the planet. Sure hes a scrawny, firm beanpole that probably is a mess of nuclear hot-coldspots and hes always wearing armour of some kind-

But he always wraps you right up, almost trying to fold his arms around you twice, he rocks you gently sometimes or cradles the back of your neck. He always smells calming too. Campfire and leather and the sea, and a little bit like sweat and fish.

You know you're safe, thats it. Thats all.

His hugs would feel safe.

i cant stop thinking about the idea of someone getting beat by hiccup and The Gang™️ and then finding out their names. like. thats literally crazy. imagine getting your ass kicked by some twink named hiccup and his friends fishlegs snotlout ruffnut and tuffnut. its a wonder the villains in the series are so reoccurring. if i found out my arch nemesis, the legendary dragon master, who continues to foil my plans and outsmart me at every turn, turned out to just be some kid named HICCUP HORRENDOUS HADDOCK III with a dragon (glorified puppy) he calls TOOTHLESS i dont think i could bear to show my face in public again. i would have to change my entire identity and move to a deserted island

I don’t know if this has been said before but the hidden world failed because romance was too prominent in the theme

The books, previous movies, and shows always focused on the bonds and friendships with humans and dragons and the bonds between family romance was never a major plot point

The hidden world felt like romance took up half the plot and that’s why rewrites where they find a baby nightfury instead are so popular because that gets rid of the romance plot point and replaces it with friendship and family again

Hiccup and Astrid/Toothless and the lightfury took up too much of the movie and took away from the funny friendship moments that Hiccup, the dragons, and the gang had together it also took away from the emotional family moments

In the scene when Grimmel took Toothless and Valka told Astrid to comfort him could’ve easily been Valka bonding with Hiccup the way Stoick would’ve

Valka, Stoick, and Hiccup’s relationship was such a big part of the second movie only for Hiccup and Valka’s bond to be thrown away in the third movie

As much as I love hicctrid I feel like a ton of their moments could’ve been replaced with other characters Valka interacted more with Astrid than she did with her own son

And introducing Eret in the second movie and having him admit to know of Grimmel makes him such an interesting character only for him to be pushed to the side for some weird Valka, Snotlout, and Eret love triangle that shouldn’t have existed in the first place

For context, Seer is about 17, close to 18 here and Gustav is either mid-18 or really close to 19 years old. Siri is apprenticing at the healers to become a midwife and the Guster is just fucking around and finding out (read as; going on silly outtings with Fanghook and some peers hes trying to stick with, and they keep getting in trouble)

He keeps coming back with bruises and Siri is often tasked with. Well, stitching the little shit up. They do know each other and were sorta friends as younger teens but grew away from each other due to growing up, so this is them just getting back to being friends (and maybe more)
