My mom has a favorite Minecraft mob

She is an older woman who is a bit out of touch with pop culture… but I’ve liked Minecraft for so long that she recognizes some things, like the main character, or animals, or maybe diamonds. That’s about it.

But she LOVES villagers.

I changed my phone’s notification in the car, and I asked her opinion of course. I played different Minecraft noises (glass breaking, button press, ghast noises, etc.) and she was SO excited when I played the villager noise. She knew immediately what it was unlike every other noise, and we devolved into nothing but villager noises for about half a minute at a stop sign. When we pulled up to the house, I told her about different updates like shirt colors for the different jobs and sleeping in beds. She was so happy! I had to look up what the different shirt colors meant and in the meantime, she found out that baby villagers existed (and of course she loved them). Her favorite villager type/job type is the Nitwit! I told her about them all and she laughed when I told her about Nitwits… she loves them the most she said

Also, a bonus: we were coming home with dinner when I was telling her about them, and before dinner while waiting for my dad we made so many “hrm” noises that my dad asked what was wrong. When we actually had dinner, her “what I learned today” was everything I told her about villagers!

It was just really cute and I thought yall might like that :^)

herding chickens

when u survive a long fall with one heart left and you’re momentarily overjoyed that you made it out alive and then you’re promptly shot by a skeleton or something

when a phantom hits u in the back of the head when you’re not looking and u have no idea why you just took damage

seeing a baby animal that spawned without a mother for some reason and feeling sad for it

tiny ponds that fill up with drowned zombies for no fucking reason (Boy Soup)

becoming familiar with the land around ur house

getting hyped up to leave for an adventure

coming home from said adventure and getting excited to see ur house again because it feels like home now

wanting a house with a standard roof in your survival world but knowing that the process of making a roof with stairs is going to make you want to be dead

stealing villagers crops and selling them back to them

riding through an open field on ur horse feeling like a cowboy baby

the pants shitting terror of turning a corner in a nether fortress and seeing a wither skeleton running at you

I built a powered railway through the barley field between my house and the nearest village. It makes me so happy every time I come home! Soon I will be turning part of that field into a fruit orchard.
