Skin them, remove the shell, and put in batteries. Let them run while you spray a bit of WD-40 on the gears! This has helped me a lot with furbys who didn't want to start up on their own, and with loud gears. It won't get rid of the sound completely, but it should help! Sometimes furbys have a hot plastic-y smell when they run. I haven't found anything that gets rid of this. Sometimes it just happens!

I'm so new, I feel a bit lonely. Share with me?

This lil girl, nameless as of now, has a lil bit of an issue with a grindy smell (like toast, sort of) and she is very loud. Does anyone have experience with using lubricant on their Furbies to help them move a bit better?

when i say "furby' i don't just mean the full bots, so plushies, furblets, figurines, mcdonalds toys, etc all count. count handmade/oddbody/fake furbs in the count even if you own "official" furbys as well.

ex. two bots, one plush, three mcdonalds toys, and a long furby would be seven total furbs.

This!! It's so important! My amazing wife got me furbys for my birthday, for Christmas, and for Valentine's Day! And she has a great dislike for furbys. (Weird, I know, but she thinks they're creepy.💔) And yet, she gets them for me! Everyone deserves a partner who embraces them fully. Never settle for anything less!

It’s Valentine’s Day which is a weird day but I thought as a tumblr elder I’d drop some relationship advice/related Larklore (lol that’s me, Lark the 34y/o furby wranglin’ entomologist).

As some as you know, I have this wonderful partner who is low key obsessed with the fact that I am so obsessed with furbies. Prior to this I was engaged to someone who at best tolerated this hobby - which at the time I thought was the best level of support I could get for something so frivolous (lol go to therapy). So here’s the thing: a good partner will be supportive of your hobby no matter how weird/how little they may understand it, simply because they value you. They see how much that hobby means to you, and get excited with you about it. They value your hobby by proxy because they see how happy it makes you. This should be a bare minimum kinda thing. And obviously this is a reciprocal kinda thing too.

You don’t have to have a partner, you don’t need to have a partner. But should you choose to seek one out, find a partner who celebrates your weird self and your hobbies. They don’t have to understand it, but they should at the very least respect it.

The bumblebee furb was a bday gift from my partner, and (last night actually) he gave me the furby vday basket. The furb has been named Igon Telescope Skywalker, which is a few of my partners interests crammed together into a name that started as kinda a joke. Which is the best way to name a furby sometimes.

I got some furbies in the mail a couple days ago!!

I knew the condition they were coming in but there was more issues with some of them that I hadn’t dealt with before!

Im going to have to fully take one apart as there’s an orange oily substance on all of the inner workings. I’m unsure of what that substance is but I’m planning on getting him all cleaned up before his fur goes back on!

Thank you so much to @luigi-is-ace who helped me and answered so many of my questions about the cleaning process!
