that in most of the documentaries that include paul gambaccini, they use his story when he asked freddie, “have you adjusted your behavior in light of the new disease?” and freddie answers, “darling, my attitude is ‘fuck it.’ i’m doing everything with everyone.” but they always CUT HIM OFF THERE.
he adds, “and i also thought, that even though he’s putting up this great front… probably in the back of his mind, he thinks it’s too late.”
but they never include that part. i wonder why. hmm, is it perhaps that they’re demonizing freddie’s sexuality & making it seem like he got aids because he was too indulgent?
fuck that.
tens of millions of innocent people lost their lives not because they were careless, but because the government was careless. i’m sick of this homophobic shit.
good morning to groupies who dont lie about a celebrity raping them and put their career in danger. always believe the victim but never trust a gold digger.
good morning to good old-fashioned lover boys, astrophysics phds, killer queens, people who wear sequins, zebra stripes, and patchwork denim in the same outfit, cheese on toast stans, cool cats, roger taylor’s falsetto, the red special, gays who can’t drive, people in love with their car, fried chicken, princes of the universe, disco haters, disco lovers, men who paint their nails, four octave vocalists, rogerina, people who accidentally dye their hair green, groupies, and people who don’t wanna die but sometimes wish they’d never been born at all
Forty years ago tonight, John Lennon was murdered in New York City.
The news broke in the UK in the early hours of December the 9th. The six o’clock news came over my clock/radio while I was still asleep. I woke up in tears and was pretty numb for the rest of the day.
That evening I was due to see Queen at Wembley Arena. I briefly considered not going, but soon dismissed the idea.

During the show Queen performed Imagine, with Freddie reading the lyrics from a sheet of paper. It was pretty emotional.
(the above video features audio from the Dec 9th show alongside footage from various other shows.)
This show featuring Imagine is available on various bootleg CDs.
