I made this for The Boston Globe a while back. Paul Reubens and friendship. What a pleasure to draw him.

“Scientists at UC Riverside have demonstrated a new, RNA-based vaccine strategy that is effective against any strain of a virus and can be used safely even by babies or the immunocompromised. Their flu vaccine will also likely be delivered in the form of a spray, as many people have an aversion to needles. “Respiratory infections move through the nose, so a spray might be an easier delivery system,” Hai said. Additionally, the researchers say there is little chance of a virus mutating to avoid this vaccination strategy. “Viruses may mutate in regions not targeted by traditional vaccines. However, we are targeting their whole genome with thousands of small RNAs. They cannot escape this,” Hai said. Ultimately, the researchers believe they can ‘cut and paste’ this strategy to make a one-and-done vaccine for any number of viruses. “There are several well-known human pathogens; dengue, SARS, COVID. They all have similar viral functions,” Ding said. “This should be applicable to these viruses in an easy transfer of knowledge.””
Vaccine breakthrough means no more chasing strains
This is HUGE. This will fundamentally change how we get inoculated.

The exception is cheesy local commercials. Those should be the only ads. I will listen to someone who runs a store in my city doing an awkward rap. We once had a furniture store with these awful CGI ads and the slogan "where the deals are so low, it's almost criminal!" and then they got shut down, by the cops, because it turned out. It turned out the deals were so low because. You're not going to believe this but the prices were so low it was in fact

i just don’t think “is dude gender neutral” is that productive of a conversation because a word can be gendered and still used regardless of gender. i call my male friends girlypop and my female friends man but i don’t think anybody would agree that those are somehow not gendered terms.
the real question is just “would you be willing to apologize and stop using a word if somebody told you it made them uncomfortable?” the answer to which in a surprising number of cases is no mostly because it seems like overall ppl r more upset abt getting accused of transphobia than they are abt being transphobic

If those of you who weren't raised in the Protestant Work Ethic Grind Culture have ever wondered why anybody would actually unironically want to live like that, I can let you in on something: We don't. It's just that no other way of life seems like an option.
There's people out there who were raised to think that life is just inherently supposed to feel bad, and that you're just supposed to have something that you want to do, that you want to do so bad that you're willing to endure being alive to achieve it. Like you're on a whole character arc I Must Finish What I Started -quest, and after you've finally achieved your goal you can die in peace, dissipating into atoms out of sheer relief that it's finally done. Except the task that you want to achieve that you've dedicated yourself into joylessly grinding towards is, like, an office job. Some people have kids in order to have a task that they have to do in order to deny themselves a permission to die.
So every time I encounter people who just legit do not want to do anything, and would prefer to live a life of being idle and just eating fruit with your tits out, it's simply something beyond my comprehension. It's like seeing someone levitating in mid-air at rooftop level because they didn't want to be affected by gravity today. Like no I don't think you should fall down from there, I am just genuinely baffled by how the fuck you're doing that.

im surprised that mysterious lotus casebook is not huuuuuge i dont expect mdzs levels of huge because the story has cultural elements that require a bit more willingness to understand or accept than mdzs (which translates very easily to the intl fandom), but this story is just as well-crafted, the character dynamics go SO hard, the acting is so good (globally, too, not just the leads), the production looks like it got more budget and it's used very well, it has all the moods from fluff to killer humor to angst to comfort, it's beauty and grace in terms of themes and other literary elements to analyse too, enough to make everyone go on a field trip. what are we waiting for? ? it's not based on a BL but it's queer as fuck

I really think everyone needs to truly internalize this:
Fictional characters are objects.
They are not people. You cannot "objectify" them, because they have no personhood to be deprived of. They have no humanity to be erased. You cannot "disrespect" them, because they are not real.

TWO HOURS AGO: an incredible photo taken by a ut austin student capturing something deeply poetic in my opinion, a line of state troopers eagerly waiting to arrest student protesters standing just behind a sign that reads "what starts here changes the world. its starts with you and what you do each day."
