Reminder that neopagans don't have a monopoly on natural or celestial imagery.
God hung the Sun, the Moon, and all the stars in the night sky and the rocks and trees cry out and worship Him.

one of my sisters was a (seemingly) devout Christian. i thought she loved the Lord, and nothing from her behaviour hinted otherwise. she took dutiful notes in sermons, discussed theology with me, and had dreams of living on a farm and raising lots of children.
then she left for work last december and never came back. she said horrible lies about our family, about the church she used to love, and about my parents. even her cat, whom she used to dote on, could be “killed or given away” for all she cared (i took the cat to my apartment, and he’s well loved now btw). she rejected God, and will be removed from membership from my church in a few weeks.
she’s living a dangerous lifestyle, and while no one in my family likes to say it aloud- we’re all terrified she’ll get herself killed. hell feels so real.
my parents, my pastor, women from my church, my grandparents; all have implored her, pleaded with her to see what she’s doing, where she’s headed but to no avail.
i haven’t seen her in nine months. i used to hang out with my family at least once a week, now there’s an empty seat and i feel the hollowness too.
i say this all to point at how closely this post hit home. it gives me a glimmer of hope. no one is too far gone- and the Lord can call us to Himself in an instant. His Grace is sufficient, and His Word still saves.
i have to remind myself of this everyday. there is hope. there is hope.
I thought of a memory that’s stuck with me for probably close to 6 or 7 years now.
While I was neck-deep in witchcraft, I happened upon a Bible in the trunk of my car. I remember joking with my friend about why it was there since I didn’t believe in God. As I said this, I flipped through the pages nonchalantly, wanting to find some tidbit to read aloud, only to find a passage that spoke about there being only one God.
I also remember one night while I worked in the food industry, a woman walked in and ordered a drink. She paid with a 20 and waited for me to return with her order. When I did, she pressed the change into my hand, looked into my eyes and said “God still loves you.”
Back then, even in my miserable state away from God, denying His existence, addicted to porn, practicing witchcraft, doing drugs, I couldn’t help but cry when she said that. Looking back on it now, I know it’s because I reached a point where I thought I was beyond salvation - that God could never love someone like me if He was real. So, to hear her say that, to feel the sincerity of it, it just hit me in a way that my heart and soul longed for.
I love remembering those moments now. If you’re reading this and think you’re beyond salvation, that God could never love someone like you for whatever reason, I want you to know that God loves you too.

The "children" you're freaking out about people "murdering" are amalgams of proto-organs without the ability to think or feel. You're delusional lmao.
Okay, psychopath.

It's astounding to me how obvious the human necessity for religion and ceremony is.
I was just forced to sit through a class on stress management and the two primary (and supposedly scientifically backed up) suggestions of the session felt so ironic coming from the presenter. They were: meditation (which involves focusing on the repetition of a word or phrase), and mindfulness (which means to focus on taking in the world around you.)
That meditation thing? Gee, it's almost like we're supposed to try and pray without ceasing. That mindfulness thing? Gee, it's almost like we're supposed to appreciate all the small, mundane things of beauty God loves to stuff into our everyday lives.
In other words, these "techniques for stress management" are really just putting religious practices back into people's lives, simply repackaged with a secular sticker stamped on top.
I don't know. It's just fascinating to me.

I have a blue button that creates kittens. You want a kitten, so you press the button. You notice many others are pressing the button and creating kittens. But then you also notice the other people who press the blue button, creating a kitten, and then they drown the kitten in a bucket of water. And they do this over and over and over. Create kitten, drown kitten. You ask why they would drown the kittens. "We don't want kittens," they say. And you wonder why on earth someone would press the kitten-creating button over and over if they didn't want a kitten.
"Maybe we just like the color blue," they respond. "Maybe we just like pressing the buttons."
"But every time you press the button, a kitten dies," you plead. "What if you didn't press the button at all? What if you pressed the button and let the kittens live?"
"We want to press the button, and we want to kill the kittens."

Ron DeSantis just kidnapped a 13-year old boy.
Ron DeSantis just kidnapped a 13-year old boy.
Earlier this evening, at around 7 PM CT U.S., Rebekah Jones (notably one of DeSantis’ biggest political enemies right now) underwent a raid on her home by state police.
Guns were pointed in the face of her 13-year old son, Jack. They arrested him under the charges of digital terrorism and “on state orders.”
They are refusing to let him go home and they are refusing to let Jones see him.
These are her screenshots recounting the incident from earlier tonight. They were taken at 10:23 PM CT U.S.

Thought I’d try something different. I made a cartoon infographic addressing a common myth about the Bible. Curious what people think. Is this something you’d like to see more of or should I just focus on the jokey stuff? As always, feel free to share.
