sometimes a coming-of-age story is about holding your abusive mother as a baby and although you won’t reconcile with her in the present you begin to understand how generational trauma may have affected her behaviour towards you long ago. sometimes a coming-of-age story is also about defeating sea vampire nazis through the power of faith and befriending a communist and a devastating betrayal from your space mentor . and in the end it’s about taking your hair out of the constricting netting that’s been holding it and diving for a swim into the wild swirling waters

The thing is, I really hope the new Deadpool isn't just going to be 2 hours of talking the XMCU to shit because as much as a mess as it was, it deserves a better swansong than that - but tbh, with all the characters they brought back and the call-backs, I feel like it's going to be as much a roast as a loving hommage and I think I'm genuinely going to enjoy that

So, there are three parts of Supernatural that I absolutely dislike. I can't do a poll about least favorite parts overall because there isn't enough room for all the options, but I want to know if you dislike my least favorite parts as much as I do.

RTD said he wasn’t going to undo the Timeless Child or the destruction of Gallifrey, ¡but he never said anything about taking individual Time Lords off the table! ¡Explain who you voted for and why in the tags!
(No, the Master isn’t an option, that fucker’s return is as inevitable as the TARDIS “accidentally” landing nine galaxies and a million years away from where she was supposed to go)

The First Doctor’s daughter figures naming advanced technology:
Susan: Our ship should be called the TARDIS, short for “Time and Relative Dimensions in Space.”
Vicki: We should call the robots Chumblies because they’re sort of chumbley.

we do not talk enough as a fandom about that time Doctor Who briefly replaced a character with a cardboard cut-out because the actor had chickenpox

2023: The Doctor and companion are singing? This show has gone off the rails!
Doctor Who in 1966:
"Toymaker Spice Up Your Life" this "The Master Rasputin" that. What about Steven and Dodo being forced to sing and play piano at gunpoint

From a Doctor Who forum in 1999:
"'Damaged Goods' is the first Doctor Who story to employ the techniques of modern horror fiction, and as such is gritty, unrelenting and pushes the boundaries to its fullest limits ... At the same time, it doesn't forget the essential 'magic' of Doctor Who: good storytelling, imaginative ideas, evocation of mood and setting. And that's why it's the best story of the '90s in my view. And that's why it's a great crukking shame that Russell Davies isn't being allowed to bring Doctor Who into the 21st Century."

Last night I finally finished all the Classic Companions in my Doctor Who series. Decided to put them all together to see how they looked, and I rather like it! A future poster, maybe?
(Before anyone asks about Liz, she's on the as-yet-unfinished UNIT poster. I haven't forgotten her. Please, I've had so many people ask me about Liz)

The more I watch Classic Who, the more I'm bothered by connections throughout the show that are never addressed.
The Vampires of Venice introduces an entirely new species (Saturnyns) with no mention of the haemovores, the vampire-like aquatic creatures that the Doctor had previously encountered.
Is there a connection between these two species from which vampire myths may be derived? Are haemovores related to the plasmavore from Smith and Jones, or the "lupine wavelength haemovariform" from Tooth and Claw? Speaking of which, is there any relation between that werewolf and the one from The Greatest Show in the Galaxy? And speaking of The Greatest Show in the Galaxy, is there a connection between the Gods of Ragnarok and Fenric, who is also rooted in Norse mythology?
They did a good job in series 4 connecting the Zocci and Vinvocci, introducing two alien species while acknowledging and explaining their similarity. I'd love to see more connections like that made throughout the lore, even if it's just explained as parallel evolution. It would also be fascinating to further explore the role of aliens in the development of human myths, like they did in The Satan Pit.

Donna should get the Doctor's number and be allowed to call the TARDIS randomly in future episodes for no reason. never aliens. no more aliens for Donna. always just some bullshit like "my mum told me the pink blouse makes me look washed out????" and the Doctor has to be like "girl! she's crazy! but also I'm actively being shot at right now so I will have to call you back"
