Allo here, and most pictures of hot people do not have as distracting a potential backstory as that non-video image.

In one of my regular zoom meetups, there's one person whose non-video image is set to a.... a rather whumpy cartoon illustration. It's a cool, stylish, presumed fan drawing of video game characters, on its own.

It's also kind of whumpy.

Like I would argue for the "this is whumpy, right?" side of the debate, about this drawing.

So anyway I'm just sitting there, somewhat distracted by this image that pops up whenever the person is off-camera. Very aware that I am specifically distracted by the whump, in public (sort of), on a casual zoom call.

(Is this the experience that other people talk about, when they refer to being distracted by images of idk hot people. Which my variation of being a-spec does not usually deal with. The number of times people near me have been like "oh my god, I was so distracted by that person, they were so hot, I could barely keep it together" and I'm like "huh? what?" Anyway, being distracted by this whumpy cartoon drawing is apparently what I experience instead.)

I cannot stand the parodies of modern major general, they're overdone and simply not as good as the original. They've done them about everything, whatever topic, big or small.

And when i notice one of them my eyes will always start to roll.

The diction's always slurry when they rush the complicated words, and adding many fricatives will turn it so cacophonous. The slanted rhymes are silly and they keep just making more and more, please someone stop the parodies of modern major general.

The scanning of the lyrics in the meter is unbearable, they emphazise the syllables in ways that are untenable, in short in matters musical, prosodic and ephemeral, i cannot stand the parodies of modern major general!

Summary: Kallus has been slowly intergrating into the crew when the Ghost is assigned to a normal supply run. The mission goes south, as it usually does, Zeb takes a hit, Kallus doesn't take it well, and the rest of the crew try to pick up the pieces. Another mission, another mess. Just another day on the Ghost.

As if "swallowed by the earth" is a way to describe someone who's gone missing without a trace, particularly in the woods, but in Ditovo it may be more than just a saying. At least if you believe the many legends and folktales about giant plumsaina, or as they're more commonly known "earth belly". The plant does exist but usually it is only big enough to catch small vertebrates, which it does when prey step onto its camouflaged trap door and fall into the pit of the plant filled with digestive liquid and downward pointing spikes preventing escape. The roots of the plant are for storing nutrients and other substances, as well as firmly anchoring the plant in the ground when prey is thrashing about inside it. In order to reproduce the earth belly sprouts a red flower above the surface, a red flag that may perhaps save the life of one who recognizes it.
