I know it is actually 2014 now because I have a lot of art to go to
Tonight, at Alaska Projects  Samuel Hodge: The Imponderable Archive . Tomorrow, Kaldor Public Art Project 28, by Roman Ondák opens in Parramatta. Friday it is Christian Boltanski's Chance at Carriageworks. Then on Saturday Beijing Silvermine by Thomas Sauvin at 4A.
That is kind of an intimidating run for my return to the world, so I have to hope my basic looking at things fitness will bounce back quickly. I am pretty set on making 2014 a year in which I am ok with not going to ALL OF THE ART, so it is nice to be lining up only one thing per day. Anyway YIKES/YAY/TIME MARCHES ON.
(This is such a blog post of a blog post that I do not know if I can actually write things any more?)

In the school of rape culture, these are the things we learn. That for women behaving exactly as they like, with no regard for the ‘consequences’ of their actions, rape isn’t a violation but a lesson. For men, even those who participate in group bonding sessions involving unconscious women, digital imagery and cocky boasting, the lesson is limited to understanding (under threat of imprisonment) that their choice to rape was nothing more than a ‘mistake’. In both examples, rape is treated as something cautionary and transformative rather than violent and visceral.

Aniqa does not go into it here http://thethousands.com.au/sydney/eat-drink/isweet but this tamarind drink guy on the left was the most confusing sweet-sour took-me-three-hours-to-drink experience ever. Days later I am still thinking it through. (at isweet)
