I'm 27, from the USA. I used to have a cool sidebar here with aesthetic links and w/e but tumblr changed their stuff and broke it. Mostly cuz I've been on this place since 2011 and never got a theme. NOR WILL I. Thats my original title too. I am cringe and I will not remove my first ever baby posts. If you need/want anything tagged please let me know. Hard top, not masc.
last year i was eating in a fancy, large restaurant when i began to hear a rumble and the distant sound of people chanting ‘potassium, potassium’ and suddenly hundreds of people dressed as bananas flood this restaurant chanting potassium over and over and we were trapped there for a very long time because the bananas would not leave and they were everywhere
I know "60s housewives who invented slash fanfiction" has taken on a life of its own as a phrase, but Kirk/Spock didn't really exist until the 70s and THOSE WOMEN HAD JOBS. They were teachers and librarians and bookkeepers and scientists and they damn well spent their own money going to conventions, printing zines, buying fanart and making fandom happen. Put some respect on their names.
I really don't know how to explain to people that supporting gender liberation (liberation for trans people, liberation for gnc people, liberation from all oppressive gender roles) means you have to be able to see someone you think is cis "crossdressing" and be cool about it. You have to be able to see someone presenting in a way that doesn't make sense to you and not interrogate them about their identity. You have to be able to hear someone express a gender identity you don't understand and go "Huh! Neat," and go about your business. If you truly want gender liberation for all then you have to stop trying to exert control over other people's genders, period.
some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.
the fact that Stardew Valley is a $15 indie game that came out almost a decade ago with zero microtransactions and is still receiving free DLC updates to this day is absolutely bonkers. There are $50-60 AAA games with paid DLC that have come out more recently and aren’t nearly as actively supported or updated.
Honestly making a plagiarism algorithm that ONLY makes forgeries, and then calling it "AI" was the smartest part about the whole scheme. Even just calling them "algorithms" lets people conceptualize "Oh. An algorithm that takes people's art or writing and copies that style as much as possible to automate the process of making a like...fake van gogh. I see now! Yeah. That should be illegal."
You gotta go FULL "ooooh it's maaagic" to have a snowball's chance in hell of fooling people with this shit.
