Even if I didn’t have a solid plan, in the back of my head, I always assumed I’d kill myself.
Now I’m an adult and people my age have their lives in order and I’m stuck here, confused, because I never planned to be alive and I’m so far behind.
I feel like I’ll never catch up.

my therapist gave me a feelings chart and when I circled more than one told me to choose one feeling.
Thirty years ago my psych class told me it's known now that e.g. happiness and unhappiness are separate scales of zero to max, not opposite ends of the same scale. This therapist is behind the times.
people always say autistic people think in black and white, but then they *teach* us in black and white. good girl, bad girl. good (normal) behavior, bad (abnormal) behavior. you have to be consistent with these kids
my therapist gave me a feelings chart and when I circled more than one told me to choose one feeling. in social skills group, they were always asking questions like, “is talking about airplanes expected or unexpected behavior?” and “it depends” was not the right answer- talking about airplanes is unexpected, inappropriate, abnormal, bad behavior (at least when you are one of Those Kids. when you like things too much you aren’t allowed to like things anymore)
here is your behavior chart, you either get a sticker or you don’t. here is your anger scale, you aren’t allowed to say you don’t know. we need an answer that fits into a graph because we are graphing your anger. here is a social story where everything is so simplified it resembles real life about as much as stick figures resemble people. here are your right and wrong answers and you play, move, think wrong
special educators are some of the most rigid people I’ve met. you have to follow the program. it has to fit on this chart. you have to be consistent with these kids

I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but intrusive thoughts are basically your brain’s (sometimes very upsetting) way of saying “If there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock would that be fucked up or what?”
I’ve personally found that adding the “would that be fucked or what?” part in myself really helps put the more disturbing thoughts we sometimes get into perspective. Helps me say “yeah thar sure would be fucked up” and move on with my day.
It’s not not a secret desire, it’s not something that only occurs to you because you’re a bad person. It’s just your brain deciding to process the fact that it knows an uncomfortable thing exists in the world by feeding it to you in an absurd “what if” with you as the main character.

How do you see the Kidnapped characters (now 20 something Davie era) interact with the Dracula hunting group? Chill? Amiable? Potential for new pack bonding? Hate and loathing?
Trouble is that so much of Davie's character is defined by his age that I can't imagine ageing him up. I think I might just have to assume Dracula crew post-Dracula, 18-year-old Davie and Catriona, Alan... however old Alan is supposed to be.
Arthur would love Davie. He would be a bit patronising about it, because Arthur is a nobleman and Davie is a gentleman from a small rural estate with - to Arthur - awkward and antiquated manners, but frankly I don't think Davie would notice. I think Arthur would adore Davie's insistence on doing the right and honourable thing at all times, and Arthur's instinctive courteousness would go down well with Davie too.
Jack would be awkward AF, not least because he doesn't believe in time travel. (I am assuming for this purpose that they all meet in circumstances where it's Very Obvious that time travel has happened). Despite all the supernatural things he's experienced, Jack worries that this may all be some kind of mass delusion. Even if he got over it, I think they'd struggle to find much in common to talk about; Jack is so much a modern guy, I think he'd struggle to get over the fact that Davie believes in the four humours and thinks that travelling faster than 30mph will kill you.
Jonathan and Mina would initially be baffled, like who is this very serious child and why does he have a sword?? I think even more so if we assume there's only a roughly four-year age gap between them and also that Davie is taller than either of them. They're both into history, so from that perspective they'd be fascinated but I imagine them being too polite to grill him. Mina and Catriona would vibe with each other: they both get what it's like to be poor and a bit of an outsider. I'm less confident about Davie getting on with Jonathan; Davie's experience of lawyers has been pretty mixed so far.
Van Helsing would have a bajillion historical questions and probably some very weird theories as well, and he'd be much less reticent about asking than the Harkers. Catriona and Alan would consequently begin a game called "what bullshit can we make the Dutchman believe about 18th century Scotland?" They abandon it because it turns out there isn't really a limit.

I dunno who that is but I know who that is
After all these years, it finally happened
It happened
I had a dream I was a worm
I was a worm in a relationship with a human man
He still loved me even though I was a worm
The question has been answered

[Image description: Preview panel for the comic strip at the link below. Mr. Spock and Captain Kirk of the Star Trek new movies talk on the Enterprise bridge. Spock is saying, "I am free for a chess game this evening, Captain." Kirk is saying, "Yeah? Bones blew me off too. Sucks when your support system has needs of its own, huh?" Unfortunately there are not image descriptions at the main Hero Of Three Faces site. End description.]
The Hero of Three Faces is fanfiction crossovers, but it’s comic strips with stick figures, but they’re triangles. Preview panel only. Click here for full cartoon. Or see the on-site navigation tutorial. Or see this blog’s FAQ, or my archive tumblog’s FAQ. Cartoons may contain unmarked spoilers. Cartoons linked from Tumblr 10:00 (Central US time) daily are the previous day’s new update and the posts are pinned to the top of this blog. Cartoons linked from Tumblr 22:00 daily are from the archive and the posts are pinned only during annual summer hiatus of new updates.

I presume that you politely interrogated the clown to determine whether he was, in fact, Elijah. And that you would have mentioned it if you had determined he was. Therefore that he wasn't.
last night my partner held a somber little passover seder to show me what it’s about and when they got to the part where they were supposed to open the door for elijah they paused, frowned, and said “oh. huh. there is a clown.” and I looked out. and sure enough. there was a clown.

I have a friend that works in McGill admin, their advice to protestors is to stay on campus property no matter what. Once you’re on the sidewalk outside of campus, anywhere not McGill property, the police might ask if they want to press charges, but they also might just find reasons to arrest people without that request from the school. Once you’re off McGill property, it could very well be out of their hands. Also keep away from doors. I know that part of the point of protest is disruption, but if exits are blocked it becomes a fire hazard, legally speaking, and that does force admin and security to act whether they want to or not.
Don’t know if that applies to most campuses, but, that’s apparently things to keep in mind.
