Being an out queer person with a child and a family and friends and a job in a small conservative town has made me appreciate being queer and queer people in a way I never felt as an isolated, internet-poisoned, closeted person in a big metropolitan city.

In the real world, we are united, we are friends. We have all kinds of allies from all walks of life, we take care of each other despite our differences. We help change society for the better, we improve the world. Queer people are a light and a gift to humanity.

when we are brave, when we are unapologetically ourselves, when we love and accept and uplift each other, that is when that light is brightest.

This has probably been pointed out a million times by now, but it's still amazing to me how this scene is set up to look like a marriage proposal. He gets down on one knee. He pulls out a box. He opens the box, and then he throws its contents into the river at the bottom of which Oswald's corpse is laid to rest (to Ed's mind, anyway).

It's just like that scene in the "Corpse Bride". And immediately after that, we see Oswald come back from the dead, just like the corpse bride did.

In conclusion: they are married.
