Thank you so much! I haven’t really been active in this fandom for a while, and I don’t use a taglist anymore (too much work and too unreliable). I know I haven’t been active much here recently, but I’m the author of such fics as Anomalies, Stay in the Equation, A Hand to Hold, Full Voice, and others.

Since I can’t currently be out in the streets protesting with my fellow human beings, I’m going to be picking up the weapon I’m best at–the pen. Please join me in helping get folks home by donating to funds such as the Mississippi Bail Fund Collective, the Funds for Protesters Against Police Brutality, the Montgomery Bail Out, or the Bay Area Anti- Repression Committee Bail Fund.

For every 10 dollars donated to any of these 4 funds (or, if you have another specific bail fund organization you’d prefer to donate to, like if you have a local one, just message me and we can work it out), I’ll write you 500 words of a fic of your specifications, up to ~2000 words. If you donate more than $40, I’ll add on a quick drawing for the fic.

If you want something else (fic for a fandom other than TS Sides, artwork, non-fandom writing), I can 100% work something out with you.

i just read your anomalies fic and it is just so!!!!! good!!!!!! is there a tag i can look through to see where you answered questions about it or do i just have to scroll?

Ah! Thank you! I was just thinking the other day about how much I loved writing that fic, haha, glad to know people are still reading it! I never got many questions abt Anomalies, but the ones I did are posted under /tagged/anomalies. There’s also the bonus chapter Homecoming, and a couple pieces of art that aren’t on the AO3!

And of course, even though I wrote this fic two years ago and I haven’t been super active in this fandom (I’m hanging out in the TAZ fandom @argonaut--keene), I’d welcome more questions about the Anomalies characters! I love them dearly and there’s plenty of information about them in my head that didn’t get put in the story.

In a fic I'm planning, Emile is Jewish, and I was gonna have Janus be Jewish too cause he introduces Emi to Roman and I thought it'd be neat if they knew each other via that-

Issue is, as I soon realised, Janus is...kinda a literal "lizard person" (well, snake person), and until recently was percieved by the fandom as an evil one.

If I make him Jewish in a human au where he is 100% not a reptile, is this gonna...come out badly? I don't want to offend anyone, and don't think it'd be bad, but I'm not Jewish and so whether it'd be offensive isn't exactly up to me.

Any and all advice, especially from Jewish folk, would be appreciated!

No problem! And I love Logan being Jewish, that’s one of my fave AU headcanons! (Also, a character doesn’t have to be religious to be Jewish! You can be Jewish and atheist, or non-practicing, or agnostic, or...etc.) I definitely agree that you probably shouldn’t make your villain Jewish, esp if you don’t have much experience writing Jewish characters. Like, I could probably write a Jewish villain if I wanted to, but I wouldn’t recommend that anyone write a Jewish villain in one of their first works with Jewish characters when they’re just starting learning. Hmmmm I can definitely see why you’d be hesitant to do that! The lizard-person/morally slippery Jewish character is a trope best avoided for its antisemitic roots, but also, as Jewish fander, I’m always thrilled to see Jewish rep in fic no matter who the Jewish character is (I personally love the idea of a Jewish Janus, and I’ve been thinking about some headcanons myself). If Emile and Janus are going to be the only two Jewish characters, I might say lean a little away from making Janus Jewish and have them know each other through something else--but if a few other characters are Jewish, I’d say it’s cool (and that would be the better option in my opinion)

(Also, there are different types of Judaism--just saying a character is Jewish says as little about them as just saying a character is Christian, lol. If you have any questions while you’re writing this fic and want input from a Jewish fander, feel free to reach out to me! This week is finals week for me, so after tomorrow-ish I’ll have tons of time to chat, but you’re welcome to reach out before then too. <3 Thanks for being thoughtful and asking us instead of making assumptions!
