For me the 'romanticising' (not the word I wanted but I can't think of a better one so) is not recent, Snape's been my favourite since the first few books were out, I don't know why.... I just knew there was something more to him, something that didn't add up so he couldn't be all bad. Anyway... I do think the Snape haters are more vocal these days, especially here on tumblr (but on reddit too). It's become this total circle jerk of hate and it bores me. Mainly though I think this was directed to the people who send the people who like Snape hate messages and trying to change their mind, as well as reblogging their posts and swearing at them, its honestly so rude, why do people feel the need to do that? Clearly you're not one of those people, you gave a well reasoned argument so respect for that, but yeah I think that's why we try to be more vocal about why we like Snape. I don't hate James, either, but sadly there's a lot of bashing of him/the marauders on here by Snape fans, I can't ignore that. Basically I think people on both sides of the argument can be crazy, but from what I've seen the Snape fans aren't the ones who go around and swear at people for having a different opinion, unless they're provoked in a message like the original post^^ (and which they have every right to be). (Coming out of months-long tumblr hiatus to reblog this, woop)
Okay, yes, maybe James was a bully in high school. But he grew, he changed. He sacrificed his life for his wife and child while Snape clung to his childhood obsession and tried to make Harry’s life as miserable as possible for the next 18 years. Who’s the real hero?

FAQ overview
- “I act nothing like my sign”
When we are writing the zodiac sign descriptions we are referring to one of the twelve archetypes. The people that these are written for are those with their natal Sun in the first house. They are a very direct expression of the sign in question. From memory, this is about 12% of the population. We are a variation of zodiac signs and astrological knowledge. Everybody has:
A sign in every planet from Mercury-Pluto
These are the twelve zodiac signs expressed through the qualities of the planet. There are also things like dominant planets and mutual receptions. The Sun is the vital force and shines the characteristics of the sign in question through every planet - because every planet circulates the Sun. If your Sun is in Libra, the Venusian mist will be present in your Mercury, Venus, Mars sign and so on.
A house this combination is placed in, from the first-12th house
The houses are the experiences and life themes we direct the sign and planet through. There are also the four angular houses
Ascending: My instant, environmental responses Descending: Who I attract Midheaven: Who I want to be/who the public thinks I am Imum Coeli: Where I came from
Aspects that describe the degree between the planets
The aspects symbolise the relationships between the planets. They can indicate if two planets are working well together, or if there is an opposing force at hand. Aspects join the whole chart together
Temperament
This is determined by the chart type. Natal charts make different patterns via the placement of planets and signs around the circle.
Hemispheric Emphasis
Information based on the distribution of planets between North, South, East, and West on the natal chart
So you may have your Sun in Aries. But this Sun in Aries may be overshadowed by the dominant Neptune and Pisces theme in your chart. The Sun directed in the twelfth house or a stellium (3 planets or more) in Pisces. You can figure out your natal chart on here: http://www.alwaysastrology.com/birth-chart-calculator.html. I like this one because you can click on the planets and it will show you the information. You can research each of your placements from there. You can learn to read it if you take some practice ;) Here is a post if you need some help: http://astrolocherry.com/post/96477887560/birth-chart-calculators-always-generate-something
I have information on every planet and house on the sidebar, if you can’t find a placement try googling it and ‘astrolocherry’, if not i haven’t written it and maybe I will soon
Cusp signs
I think Jonathan Cairner summed it up brilliantly when he says “A cusp is an imaginary boundary between one zodiac and the next, for example between Cancer and Leo. Those unfamiliar with the practice of astrology will say they are born on a ‘cusp’, when the Sun is a few within a few degrees of the imaginary line that separates one sign from the next - and if, for instance, at their time of birth the Sun was a few degrees - or even days - from the division between (for example) Libra and Scorpio, will claim they possess some of the characteristics of each sign. While this may be true, it will have nothing to do with being born ‘on the cusp’, but will be due to other planets. Astrologers agree that the Sun is never divided between two signs”. Read the link I put up above :)
“Am I compatible with this sign/who is my best match?”
This is why every sign is compatible:
http://astrolocherry.com/tagged/compatibility.
Sun signs are quite vague. There are other placements that focus on relationships. Like Venus, the seventh house, and Mars. You can do indepth compatibility charts online, just search up a synestry chart
Book Recommendations -The Parker’s Encyclopedia of Astrology -Jon Hassinger “Basic Astrology for the very beginner” -Alan Oken “Rulers of the Horoscope” and anything by Liz Greene, Steven Forrest, Dane Rudyher, Susie Cox, Steven Arroyo, Robert Hand, Marc Edmund Jones
Rulerships and exalting planets Each of the signs are ruled by a planet. This is the planet the sign best expresses its qualities through. There are exalting planets too. Signs are sympathetic to the planet they are exalted in.
The Sun rules Leo and exalts in Aries Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo and exalts in Virgo Venus rules Taurus and Libra and exalts in Pisces Mars rules Aries and Scorpio and exalts in Capricorn Jupiter rules Sagittarius and Pisces and exalts in Cancer Saturn rules Capricorn and Aquarius and exalts in Libra Uranus rules Aquarius Neptune rules Pisces and exalts in Cancer Pluto rules Scorpio
If a person has a sign in the planet it is ruled by, like having Venus in Libra or Venus in Pisces, he will express these qualities very vividly.
13th Zodiac Sign The astrology you are reading is seasonal astrology. http://astrolocherry.com/post/73604972423/is-esoteric-astrology-placements-different-likeThese are the signs reflected of the ecliptic belt that encircles the earth. Astrology that uses star minutes, like forms of esoteric astrology use Orphicius. There’s a good explanation on here as well: http://what-is-astrology.com/zodiac.html
will keep updating this ~~

I’ve been thinking, that instead of getting the tattoo of all the planets down my back, I want them across my chest like right under my collarbone instead. While getting it down my back would be admittedly badass, and I can handle the pain, nobody would ever see them, or would only see maybe the top two, if even that, because my clothes and hair always cover my back. Idk this is the kind of tattoo I do actually want to show off! And my collarbones are one of my favourite features so it’d draw more attention to them.
So I’m really undecided now.

Apparently J.K Rowling knows the exact process to making a horcrux.
But she hasn’t told anyone and doesn’t plan to yet.
The only person that she has told is her editor, and said that her editor felt like vomiting afterwards.
All she will say is that a certain spell is involved, and then a horrific act is performed.

does David Bowie exist???
Not originally in this dimension. The legend says he was a powerful King of a vaste world in another dimension, full of music and glitter and beauty; and the evil witch from the far mountains, in all his envy and wickedness, casted a spell to banish Bowie from that world, creating a breach between dimensions and leading Bowie to our world.

Book Of  Shadows Masterpost
A Book of Shadows is like a Magickal diary for your Magickal life. It is intimate, & personal to the Witch. It is also a sacred tool of power that should be consecrated along with all other magickal tools. A Book of Shadows, or Bos for short, stores all information that the Witch has accumulated, in regards to their Craft.
Creating a Book of Shadows:
Choose a blank paged writing book or make your own. If you’re buying, make sure the books stands out in some way to you as it is special & no mere notebook! Traditionally, a Bos is handwritten, thus transferring energies from page to writer & aiding in memorizing the contents, some even writing in various magickal languages. But, each Witch to their own, as technology is ever-changing in our world today, many prefer to keep their Bos in computer format, others, in ring binders so that they can continue to add to their content. The choice is yours.
Remember, Your Bos is yours & yours only! There are no right or wrongs in it’s formation, so long as it speaks truly of you & your craft.
For inspiration, I have provided a small list of possible topics to include in your Book of Shadows, you can find more here.
✯ Rules of your Coven, or Solitary Tradition.
✯ A page all about yourself including given and/or magickal names.
✯ A Dedication Ritual.
✯ Gods/Goddesses.
✯ Correspondence Tables.
✯ The Sabbats & their Rituals.
✯ Moon Phases & Rituals.
✯ Crystals/Herbs.
✯ Divination.
✯ Sacred Texts
✯ Magickal Recipes

Tools for the Kitchen Witch
Here is a list of things that I would suggest that kitchen witches keep on hand. I know that we get a little caught up in the THINGS of witchcraft, but for the kitchen witch the things are much more simple and easy to come by. Also I feel like kitchen witchery is kind of about these things:
Wand: for a kitchen witch, the wand is one of the super fun items. Because… your spoon is your wand! Pick a favorite metal spoon or a wooden spoon, maybe decorate it, maybe not. Designate that as your wand, and make sure every magic concoction is given a good stir with it. Even use it in non food spell casting! Brandishing a spoon has a very unique and powerful feel to it ;3
Besom: the witch’s broom can take many forms. I like to have 2; a practical broom that I can use to clean and to cleanse, and a little broom for more symbolic cleaning. I’ll use it when I feel particularly yucky and I “sweep” out the air around me. I made mine from willow branches, and wrapped them in a long string to make the handle, and dipped the tip in wax. Easy! The kitchen witch can use any old broom to be their besom.
Cauldron: you’re probably getting the idea. The cauldron doesn’t have to be massive, cast iron, and hang over a fireplace. Choose a pot to be your cauldron. Specify it for magical concoctions. Making a super-charged soup for cold fighting? Pull out the cauldron! You can even use it every day, because magic is best when it happens all the time. I also keep a small ceramic bowl that I use as my mini cauldron, much like my mini broom, it’t for more symbolic workings.
Athame: any kitchen knife can become your athame, but having a special knife set aside for specific plant harvesting is I think a good idea. I also have a neat (and useless) arrowhead knife that I use for symbolic things in spells and rituals,
Empty jars. Lots of empty jars. Spells and storage!
Sewing kit: I really like making little sachets of herbs for various spells, and as a kitchen witch I’m always fixing and making things. Also who hasn’t had a button fall off their favorite shirt?
Herbs: There are a great number of dried grocery store herbs that I think a good kitchen witch will want to keep on hand, both for cooking and for magic. The are thyme, garlic, onion, ginger, bay leaf, basil, oregano, rosemary, nutmeg, cinnamon. Sage is of course the witch’s all purpose cleanser, and lavender is a great herb to have. These may not be as easy to find, however lots of lavender soaps and oils are becoming available.
Cook book: get the most all inclusive, massive, wonderful cook book you can find. Write in it. Find things on the internet and print them out. Build a massive library of delicious things to do with food.
Spell book: This is also your Book of Shadows. Every witch should keep a journal, notebook, and or their own personal book in which they gather information on their craft. Record everything, even things you later don’t believe. Be informed!
Notebook
House plants: House plants are air cleaners, mood boosters, and good friends. Jade and other succulents are extremely easy to care for. I feel that kitchen witches are well suited to keeping little friends, for good spirits and the like.
Candles: keep candles on hand, also for spells. Birthday candles are great for some quick magic.
Hearth: I know that in the modern world, having a fireplace isn’t going to be possible for everyone. Kitchen witches are about the home, and as such I think that we need a “hearth”. For the urban and or poor witch, this can be a stone, a candle, a jar, anything. Make it your center. Make it the essence of your home. This makes cleansing and assessing the energy of your home a little simpler. It’s also a great way to help acknowledge the home as an entity with a heart.
That’s it! Most of these are easy to get, not only inexpensively, but also at pretty much any store. And even so, I want to say again that not all of this is necessary. You just need a kitchen to be a kitchen witch, really!
Happy cooking kitchen witches!
Be warm and be well,
~Rain

I think this is why a lot of people discount spells because they “don’t work”. But it’s common sense to take some action as well as a spell. Spells are to help you along the way, they won’t work miracles.
Witchcraft Tips
Be specific!!!
Spells often go wrong &/or backfire because the caster is not specific enough.
Instead of “I want money.” Make it “I need *insert specific amount, but be reasonable*” or “I need a job.”
& always take some action outside of the spell. If you’re in need of money apply to workplaces, buy a lottery ticket, do something. If you want love go on a date, tali to people.
Don’t just rely on your spells. You need to take initiative.
