SangCheng Qixi is open for prompts and claims!

This is a romcom-themed event for any fans of sangcheng/chengsang. You can join and submit up to 20 prompts, and you're free to claim any prompt you like and start writing! We're aiming for 100 word drabble or a sketch at minimum, in order to keep it low commitment and encourage participants to create as much fic and art as possible.

Explicit prompt are welcome, but not required. After all, romantic comedy can range from innocent fluff to raunchy and kinky.

The collection will be revealed on Qixi, August 10.

An event announcement for Nie Huaisang's birthday!

We're very happy to announce a SangCheng event for Qixi, themed around romcom to match the nature of the date. It will be a prompt meme with a reveal date, meaning you will be able to submit prompts for fic or art you'd like to see created, and also to claim and fill however many prompts inspire you. We're aiming for short fics and simple art, in order to keep it low commitment and encourage participants to create as many fic and art as possible. Works will be revealed on August 10 (Qixi). This was written for Sangcheng Week 2023

Jiang Cheng's shift as a Customer Service Agent would start in less than 10 minutes, and he liked to come in with enough time to turn on his computer, log into the VPN and maybe get himself a coffee from the break room if he was feeling tired that day. Predictably, only 2 minutes before their shift was due to start, Nie Huaisang arrived, greeting him with a breathless “hi hi” and sitting at the desk right next to his. If you were to ask him, he and Nie Huaisang couldn’t be more different. Or: Jiang Cheng and Nie Huaisang work together at a call center.

Drabble for sangcheng week 6: Water

Ten Years

            Nie Huaisang jerked awake with a gasp and stumbled out of bed. Hands shaking, he stumbled to the water basin and plunged his face in. He hadn’t done anything. Meng – Jin Guanyao was just fine. The accusing eyes from his dream flashed in front of his face and he took a shaky breath.

            Nothing irretrievable had happened. He’d only looked for information. Jin Guanyao loved him. He’d been so kind last night, when Sandu Shengshou swept in and Nie Huaisang choked on his own tongue. He couldn’t have killed da-ga.

            His san-ge was innocent. He had to be.

Barely sangcheng, but I kept thinking about that ten year gap and found myself haunted by the notion that it didn't take Nie Huaisang ten years to wreak his revenge. It took him ten years to find enough dirt on his beloved san-ge, who took care of him and adored him and didn't deserve the suspicion that Nie Huaisang couldn't help or the lies he was telling him, that he could nerve himself up to kill the man he and his brother had both adored.

And now I've written as much commentary on this as there are words in the drabble ...
