I'm not sure I outgrew my weird kid phase in the past 30 years, but I guess that's what it takes to stay young forever 😎
Neil my dude, after showing my mother season one of Good Omens and my dad seeing a bit of it I mentioned you also wrote Coraline and either my mom or dad (don't remember which one said it) said you must have been a weird kid.
Could you please confirm or deny whether or not you were a Weird Kid™?
I was a weird kid.

And no matter how often I rewatch, I always find something new! Which might be due to forgetting a lot, but the happiness about discovering it is always genuine and surprising 😅
With every rewatch, with every meta, with every snipped that teaches me more about Crowley and Aziraphale, I am getting more and more aware, that this is the longest, deepest, most extraordinary and most beautiful love story ever. With every repetition I watch the minisodes telling their story and all those big and small interactions it hits me deeper.

I'm pretty sure the way to this last addition was bumpy, sometimes very steep and uncomfortable and sometimes it probably even felt like standing still or going backwards. To keep going takes a lot of courage and strength, and I hope this post finds everyone in need of a reason to keep going.
For a time, my only mantra was "just today" to remind me that each morning, I promised myself to get through this one day and not think about any other in the future. And if your feet are heavy and you just want to lie down and for it to just go away, maybe that's a way to keep going. Just today.
Even if I didn’t have a solid plan, in the back of my head, I always assumed I’d kill myself.
Now I’m an adult and people my age have their lives in order and I’m stuck here, confused, because I never planned to be alive and I’m so far behind.
I feel like I’ll never catch up.

That's what people mean when they say you have to communicate with children seeing eye to eye! It's not necessarily about crouching down, although that helps too, it's about understanding how a child's mind works.
When kids are trying to explain a problem they are having to you, you need to ask questions. Kids often don't have the words that they need to explain what is going on. So, they substitute in words that they do know that are as close as possible. If you take what they say at face value, you can sometimes entirely miss the actual problem.
A recent example is a kid, ten years old, I know who kept saying that their problem is that they "get bored" when reading. I've been helping by recommending books and other material relevant to their interests to their parents, but it didn't seem to work. So, I came over, sat down with the kid, and asked them to read as much of a short story as they could before they got bored.
They could read about sixty or so words before they were unable to focus on the text any longer.
According to them, this has been a problem since they were seven. But because "boredom" was the only word they had for it, they received attempts to get them more engaging texts. That's a great strategy for most book-shy kids, but not when it's looking far more like an undiagnosed disability. This kid has amazingly supportive parents who are now looking to get them more expertly evaluated, but because they didn't have the language to explain how bad the problem was, it flew under the radar for three years.
Ask kids clarifying questions when they're having trouble, especially when the problem you think they are telling you about isn't being solved by solutions that would normally work. You might figure out why those solutions aren't working.

Reading this one hurts and frankly I don't think this has anything to do with shipping. That's hate, it's cruel and it makes me so incredibly sad and angry.
And may I add:
5. There won't be a season 4. This is not a soap opera with 4289 episodes, and to be honest, what kind of story would that be anyways? That's not a comedy anymore, that's a drama about revenge and inflicting as much pain and damage as possible in a relationship.
6. Is this the kind of story you think Terry and Neil came up with? Is this who you think they are? Who you want them to be?

"Made a mistake"? He did what his ab*sers pressured him into doing. That's not a "mistake".
STOP!!! SAYING!!! YOU WANT!!! AB*SE SURVIVORS!!! TO BE MISERABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is more loving than sacrificing your own happiness for millennia to keep someone you care about safe??????????

That actually works well with the theory of Aziraphale saying "I forgive you" when it's personal, and "may you be forgiven" or "may God forgive you" when it's more a general thing 🤔
Okay so maybe not a hill a willing to die on but definitely one I'm willing to plant my flag on at point is that when Aziraphale says to Crowley, "I forgive you" both times it's about Crowley not having faith in Aziraphale. It's the opposite of "'you said trust me', 'and you did'."

Thank you for sharing, this is so comfy and sweet! I love the setting with the soft rain, it made me all fuzzy and warm and cuddle my cats ☺️
A little bit of fluffy South Downs.
Little boredom fic I have now become obsessed with writing 😭
The rain just began to patter lightly against the soft skyroof, and a light thundering was heard in the distance.
Crowley was swirling a glass of red in his hand, watching the other intently with almost catlike precision every time his plump pink lips sipped the cocoa mug in his other hand.
Thunder rumbled closer, and Aziraphale's eyes drooped as the night dragged on. He placed the book down on the table, and pulled the tartan blanket over his legs, shifting around a bit in his seat.
"Tired, Angel?" Crowley's voice came warm and soft.
"Quite..." Aziraphale nodded, pulling his glasses off.
"Why don't you turn in? I'll clean up a bit." Crowley rose, placing his glass on the table.
"You sure dear? I can do the washing up." Aziraphale made to get up, but the demon waved him off.
"Shoo angel, shoo."
Aziraphale smiled and shuffled up the stairs, turning his back to the demon.
"Goodnight, Crowley dear."
"Night, Angel." Crowley replied, shuffling off to the kitchen to clean up.
***
Aziraphale changed to some comfy tartan pyjamas, and was snoring softly, his round cheeks squished against the pillows.
When Crowley crept in about an hour later, he was wearing silk bottoms, and a black t-shirt.
He climbed into bed, careful not to disturb the angel, and lay back, listening to the rain patter softly against the window.
Thunder rumbled, and lightning cracked across the sky. Crowley shivered, and rolled over.
His heart jumped in his chest when he saw Aziraphale had turned in his sleep, and was now facing the demon.
His pale face was relaxed and peaceful in sleep, and the rain made a gentle lullaby that was soothing to Crowley.
He didn't really sleep. He never had. But sometimes it was nice to just lay down and leech some body heat from the angel, who was always so warm, and cuddly, and soft and pudgy..
"Hmnnn...." The angel shifted again, scooting closer to the divot Crowley was currently occupying.
Crowley froze as he felt the warm breath of the angel on his face, and the soft, curly white hair brushed his neck.
He didn't want to move, lest he wake him, but the angel was very, very close.
And Crowley, well, he was getting warmer.
Aziraphale snuffled, and moved closer still, draping a plump arm across the demon's narrow waist, and nuzzling his cheek into his chest.
Crowley was definitely getting warmer. And he was definitely in his own personal Heaven right now.

This test is worded like an actual one, this is so good!
I'm probably a technopath too 😅
Level 1: 4/6
Level 2: 4/5
Level 3: 1/5
Anecdotally: my co-workers would joke about computers being afraid of me because whenever they had a problem and called for my help, the problem wouldn't occur again once I stood there and watched.
Also, further co-morbidities like mentioned above exist.
I haven't read the fic yet, but since it's dystopian and contains all the triggers, I guess being a technopath is not a good thing, then?
ARE YOU A TECHNOPATH? Take the test!
For my GOOD OMENS dystopian cyberpunk AU fic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Could you be a technopath? Personally, I am a level 1: 4/6 and at least a level 2: 4/5, as well as a level 3: 2/5 so... (humblebrag) I am actually on the spectrum.
