HAZARD TO THE HEART — A DATING SIMULATOR (previously named LIMERENCE)

Hazard to the Heart, or HTTH for short, is a small dating simulator and my first game! The theme of it is “past versus present”, with one love interest from your past and the other from your present!

There are mature themes that are unsuitable for younger audiences, such as suggestive humor, topics such as depression and manipulation, and a theme of finally becoming an adult.

The story goes that a Joker God became bored and killed seven random people, only to bring them back immediately before any could be the wiser- but with a twist. The world they are brought back into is a mere copy of their old world created with the sole intention of being a playing field. The only way back to their old life, to be genuinely alive again with the true people they care about, is to win a god’s game.

Doing a lot of updates to the GUI of the game. I plan on releasing a new demo after I finish the first card game portion, but that’s not ready yet. In between that, previously mentioned GUI work is done. Nothing too fancy right now is being done, but it’s still a nice change from the totally default renpy interface.

Some snippets of dialogue while I work on the game. Currently coding the first in-game card game, so that’s certainly...fun. But it’s getting done, and I figured I’d share something while the VN itself isnt available past the demo.

2017 vs 2022

I’ve gotten opportunity to draw a new version of a CG from the RPG maker days. Although the context of the CGs are very different, the fact Ueto is getting mad has not changed.

The first one indicates more of a “grabbing by the shirt” feeling but otherwise I am proud of my improvement.

I’ve made multiple renditions of Merc’s theme in the past and there’s a few versions of it for this game for various situations and scenes but I figured I’d share this one, which may or may not be used for background music for scenes in game as well.

Some new backgrounds and a new CG! The second background has a lot of cameos to my other projects on the shelf, specficially Crop Haven (an RPG maker game) and Panda Pearl (a webcomic). I may add more details to the first background, though, but here’s its current state.
