as much as he felt betrayed by you, he still loved you, even if he was mentally going through your memories trying to figure out if you were faking it or not, he felt affection for you. So he decided to let you go, even though he was more than capable of catching you.

you wanted to explain to him, you wanted to reassure him that it was real between you, that he wasn't expected, that you loved him, but he didn't let you speak, he simply looked at you with a look you had never seen before, icy, cold, far from that warmth of eyes that you had learned to love.

Kuzan x Reader - Kidnapping (pt 3)

pt 1 - 2

your petrified state doesn't last long, and you immediately start chasing it. You can't give up like this, you deserve answers! Also in the name of that love that he bound you and that he apparently no longer feels. After reaching him you stand in front and with a determined look you tell him "Not so fast, you didn't answer me"

aokiji doesn't answer you and tries to walk past you but you stop him, looking at him with the previously described determination. You decide that the only way to make him talk is to block him, and even though you realize that he was an admiral, you also know that you have become strong over time, you trained for two years under garp.

aokiji who has always been very intelligent, however, grasps this thought of yours and therefore launches an "Ice Block: Partisan" at you, but you manage to dodge all three arrows easily, before he can unleash another attack take the katana you always wear at your right side and launch a haki-infused attack at it.

you manage to hit him and he steps back a lot, you prepare for another attack but aokiji is faster than you and invokes an "Ice Ball" that hits you squarely, for five seconds you are stuck in a block of ice but through your haki you manage to free yourself, and proceed to give him a haki-infused kick to the calf.

then you launch another haki infused attack at him with your katana, aokiji spits blood and is thrown far away. Admit that you are worried about him but you know that you have to take advantage of it if you want answers then you will think about treating him. You run to where he fell and hold your katana to his throat. Before you can speak though he chuckles a bit and tells you in an amused voice "You really grow up in strenght huh."

you hate to admit it but him complimenting you on your strength made you proud of yourself, the fact that aokiji recognized your strength made you feel special. You were about to reply when you realized something: sure, you've become strong….but strong enough to beat a former admiral?

in all the training with garp you never managed to beat him and now you beat aokiji? probably the second strongest among the admirals and vice admirals? either aokiji got weaker or…he let you win. Which you hate, he's always been protective of you, which led big fights when you guys were together.

" You bastard, you let me win!" you still have the katana pointed at his throat but you don't know how effective it is since he could probably break free from it "You confuse me. First you act a big douche then you let me win? Why? I mean you said we are nothing. So why the fuck you let me win?"

" Ah, lively as always y\n" he says and his voice returns to the lazy one he used earlier in the cabin, he doesn't move but he remains lying on the ground, looking at you through those yellow glasses "I repeat what I said before: we are nothing, I don't own you anything and-"

you interrupt him by crushing his stomach with your foot "Don't pretend that there was nothing between you and me, we were together for years and we were friends for even more years! You owe me an explanation, I won't leave. I can 't believe you sided with that dipshit. That's not the Kuzan I knew"

"I already told you that this comes from a misconception of myself. I didn't change"

"Shut up for God's Sake!I know you better than anyone else, I know your morals, I know your struggles…I was there for you! And you threw me away. You threw me away and now you pretend that there was nothing between us"this time you yell, overcome by the frustration of the situation. You couldn't believe he was pretending your story didn't exist. The voice he used earlier in the cabin…it was like he was addressing a stranger.

he stays silent and just watches you, maybe he doesn't know what to say, maybe he realizes that he really hurt you, maybe he's wondering what you want from him, maybe he just wants to go home. But you don't care about him now, now you want answers

"So why you let me win?"

"Because i can't bring myself to hurt you" he replies after a bit of hesitation. So that means they didn't care, your instincts were right.

"And why you are to siding with blackbeard?" you ask him calmy after taking some breath to control your temper

" i can't tell you but you have to trust me"

"trust you? after you act so differently from a moment to another?"

"yes"

"yes? just that? at least explain yourself douchebag"

you stay silent and look each other in the eyes (so to speak since Aokiji has glasses), you always stay up with the katana pointed at his throat who is instead lying down. You stopped and thought about your next move, what to say.

"You hurted me...When you left i mean, i loved you and i wanted to stay with you" speak this time in a very quiet and sweet voice, sheath the katana

Kuzan x reader - Kidnapping (pt 2)

Ever since you found out about Kuzan and the kidnapping of the sixteen-year-old you decided that you needed answers, and you would demand them from your ex-lover. Kuzan has always been a mysterious guy, and that has always fascinated you, but right now…you needed answer, so you wouldn't accept any mysterious answer.

the problem was understanding how to meet him: you certainly couldn't show up on Blackbeard's island, they would have made you prisoner… and done who knows what (especially knowing that there were two members who loved rape young innocent women). You had gotten stronger over the years but not that strong to defeat a yonko and his crew alone.

and then Kuzan would have been less willing to talk in the presence of his other crewmates.

you started to find out about his movements, where possible (he was still a pirate, and the navy is not able to follow step by step). You had even asked around to other pirates if they had seen him without success. On the other hand, what could you expect? That they would say it risking the skin of a marine like you?

but you were still determined to see him to ask for explanations. So I approach you to one of the usual bars frequented mostly by pirates in disguise, hoping that no one recognizes you. As you are about to enter at a certain point you feel someone's hand grab your wrist and before you could understand what was happening, the person whose hand belonged to knock you out.

you wake up later in a dimly lit cabin, and judging by the background noises you hear not very far from the bar. You are not tied up but you are lying on an uncomfortable bed, and before you can focus on the other details you hear a deep voice, and you recognize it immediately: it is that of your former lover.

"I hear you're looking for me. Don't do it." he tells you taking two steps towards you, allowing you to see half your face illuminated by the candle placed on the bedside table near the bed you're on.

“Stop,” you tell him, grabbing his hand as he walks away. Oh god …. how you missed his touch of him … his warm body of him despite his devil fruit of him. But now you can't be distracted by it, you are here for questions "You know why I'm looking for you. Kuzan, I have-"

"It's not something that concerns you" Kuzan replies interrupting you with his classic lazy voice. He hasn't changed at all in this matter of remaining mysterious, huh? But that doesn't stop you. You need answers.

"It concerns me since I…" 'I still love you' but you trail off since you are embarrassed to admit that you still love your ex, especially since he has completely abandoned you "I wanna know why you are with that low life! You said you were still the same, but your previous self would never have joined pirates, much less Blackbeard and his men who rape, enslave and kill civilians" you almost yell, but tries to refrain to raise the voice further.

Kuzan says nothing, but doesn't walk away. He remains still with his back towards you, he is probably pondering whether to answer you or what to do, he has always been a thoughtful type after all. "As I already told Smoker, i am still the same. Who I ally with doesn't change that" he then speaks.

"Of course it changes! You're allying yourself with people who raped and killed. And you kidnapped a sixteen-year-old, Kuzan. Don't make fun of me. You changed" you at this yell, and with your hand you force him to turn towards you, then with one hand you grab his shirt "You betrayed yourself and you betrayed me.." you say this last part in a faint voice.

he doesn't say anything, he just watches you but you can't see the look because of his stupid glasses, but you still feel scrutinized inside, as if he's analyzing you. As if he was evaluating the situation, he was evaluating what to say or not tell you. Given his silence, you decide to continue talking, but just before opening your mouth he interrupts you (again)

"i didn't betray myself, i am still the same, i just don't fit in the idea you built." he gently grabs your hand that is still clinging to his shirt and moves it away from it "And I haven't betrayed you, we are not together anymore, we are nothing now. We are not lovers, we are not friends and we are not superior and subordinate. I left you, and I'd rather be left alone by you, I don't love you" he says in a voice hard and then walk away from you, leaving you petrified, knowing that the man you loved who until the day before he announced your breakup had always shown himself to be in love in turn, was breakhearting.

When you had read in the newspaper that two pirates from Blackbeard's crew had broken into Whole Cake Island and kidnapped Pudding, one of Big Mom's daughters, you had simply sighed and shook your head. This was not the first time pirates had kidnapped anyone, much less abducted any other pirates.

You had read that the girl was only sixteen years old, and even though she was also automatically a pirate, you couldn't help but feel a veil of sadness toward her. She was still a young girl, lonely and scared for sure of those pirates…You knew that the pirates in Yonko's crew were particularly cruel, and you knew that there were two captains in his fleet who had no problem raping a woman.

But honestly that was it, you didn't bother to investigate further, as much as you were sorry it was still something related to Big Mom and and Blackbeard's pirates, not something related to you. So you spent your day quietly, not thinking about the news you read.

Until one of your fellow marines approaches you quietly as if he doesn't want to further upset you with an expression of pity toward you (now that you think about it, many marines have looked at you that way while whispering to each other) and says, "You know, I wanted to tell you that I was sorry…I read…Well everyone at the base read what happened at Whole Cake Island."

You look at him confused, wondering why he had told you this… What did you have to do with the kidnapping of that little girl? Of course you were sorry, but it wasn't something that destroyed you, it simply caused you a hint of sadness but that's all . The Marine further explains what he meant "I know what it's like to find out that your loved one turns out to be a different person than you thought."

"Huh?" you say being even more confused.

"Come on, don't pretend that's not true. We all know about our former admiral and your former boyfriend Kuzan and that girl" he says looking at you with an even more pity expression. He probabily thinks that you are trying to deny the realty.

"Kuzan? What the fuck Kuzan have to do the kidnapping of Pudding?" you say irritated, both because that marine was assuming that the man you were having an affair with and still loved was dealing with a kidnapping and because of his expression of pity. He almost looked like he was a bit condescending, as he is treating like a child.

"Y\N..." he says, changing expression after realizing you have no idea " I suppose you didn't read the communicate of the superiors... We have been reported that the Whole Cake Island has been frozen..."

you didn't need him to continue to understand everything….It was Kuzan who kidnapped the girl then, together with another member of Blackbeard's crew, your ex is the only one who has that level of power and above all had a devil fruit capable of freezing everything

"We all know that he is the only one....Honestly there are been reports of him joining Blackbeard, but we didn't believe them...And we didn't tell you because we tought it was useless since they were fake...But we are mistaken...I guess" he says sheepishly

Did you know that Kuzan didn't hate pirates like Sakazuki, but joining a person like that Yonko? You could understand Shanks if he liked having more freedom…hell even Luffy…But Blackbeard? That man was so evil. How could he have the guts to kidnap a sixteen years old girl?

But you know there must be a reason…And you wanted to find out. On the other hand you knew Kuzan better than anyone else, you knew that he wasn't a bad person… You also know it from the words that Smoker told you that he pronounced "I am still me"..
