are there any classically halloweeny goosebumps. i feel like present day me would most appreciate one that's got a halloween thing going on. which. hm. is that just the haunted mask

oh there's a bunch!

the haunted mask 1 (excellence) and 2 (wet fart) as you know. lots of crisp autumn air and costumes both literal and metaphorical

attack of the jack-o-lanterns i think leans more into the aesthetics of halloween w the jack-o-lantern people, candy, brief scene with the typical "What if you go inside a stranger's house and they're EVIL" story you might've heard growing up. it's good fun

werewolf skin is less halloweeny but it's set during the lead-up to it and the last third of it IS explicitly halloween. it's still got a spooky werewolf-obsessed town though i consider that a plus

in 1998 goosebumps rebranded as "goosebumps: series 2000" with a slightly edgier tone. i still recommend them, though, which is why i bring up headless halloween. breaks a lot of the typical goosebumps rules and i'm personally fond of it

there's also full moon fever which i am not fond of but it's set during halloween and it very much counts imo

if you're interested in a bunch of ghostwritten short stories, still more tales to give you goosebumps is halloween-themed. it also is notoriously clunky and probably not like. edited. but it's got a lot of bite-sized halloween fun

beyond that you're getting into more modern books which i don't think is what you're looking for. you can see literally every halloween-related goosebumps story here if you're interested, though

EDIT: If you're still having problems, it might help to switch from "Save/Save as" to "Export (as a) Single Layer". Just. Make SURE the box labeled "Expression Color" is set to RGB. I've been messing with this all day, and it looks like this combination of settings will allow exported PNGs to maintain their colors perfectly. To you. So far both Discord and Toyhouse still only display desaturated images and I cannot for the life of me figure out why

not sure how old you are but in 2008 or so they started a horrorland-focused run and made a whole horrorland-focused website + in-character blog of two kids giving you horrorland survival tips, might be part of why you liked it a lot?? they own the spooky amusement park theme to me

night of the living dummy 2 is the first one to star slappy in it & i think you're recalling the scene right yeah. the protagonist is named amy and is very beloved by the fandom, which is a fun 180 from worm

the haunted mask is widely considered to be The Best goosebumps book in terms of like, construction, quality, actually having a character arc and a theme etc, plus it was the first tv episode. excellent taste

a night in terror tower isn't quite a "this location sucks" book it's mainly them running from location to location unless you consider all of london a horrible location in which case yeah. though there is a lot of somber "people used to be tortured and died Here horrifically" prose to introduce kids to that concept so

fun fact barely related but pretty much every summer camp book by rl stine is considered a little better than usual. like for some reason they just tend to be really good. camp jellyjam is no exception

(i think because stine notoriously wasn't used to writing for small kids yet and was still on his fear street killing-the-dog pulp horror grind so i never even processed it as a joke.) you've opened my eyes to something thank you

okay goosebumps post for @socksemoji :) when i was looking up the summaries of them online i wasn't sure how many i actually read but i'm scrolling through the classic series right now and so far there's not a single one that i don't recognize. some favorites are:

'one day at horror land' was the only one i really distinctly remembered the name of/knew i liked before i looked up the list so i think this one takes the grand prize

i completely forgot about slappy (i'm certain his name was slappy right) but when i saw the night of the living dummy one i was like OH YEAH. so i think that was also a favorite. not deviating from what was probably a popular pick here. i specifically remember a scene where the kid was in bed and slappy was in their room at night and i think the kid was a girl so i might have liked book two the most, based on the cover having a pink bed on it?

i don't remember much about the haunted mask but based on my !! reaction to seeing it on the list i think i liked that one also
